Chapter 2
CHAPTER 2
BOONE BLACKSTONE
My first thought when I turn around is the frazzled woman behind me is gorgeous. Beyond gorgeous. I never believed in the love at first sight bullshit but one look at this girl has me rethinking all that. The air in the truck is charged as we drive the twenty minutes from Charleston to Hollow’s Hollow. I can’t think of anything but her. Pushing her car out of the street was no issue. I’ll call Lewis, my buddy and the only mechanic in Hollow’s Hollow and have him pick it up. The car, Bertha, I believe she called it, is definitely on its last legs. If it’s unsafe or unsalvageable, I don’t want her driving it. The sheer amount of protectiveness I feel for her is unreal. She’s a stranger. I don’t know her, but I feel like I do. She’s important. I can feel it.
“I hope you’re not going out of your way to help me,” she says, as I pull out into traffic.
“Not at all,” I tell her. Little does she know; I’d do anything for her. Anything. I don’t have time to unpack that feeling.
I look over at her for probably the twentieth time since we got in the truck. She’s short, maybe 5’2, 5’3 with both chocolate hair and eyes. I imagine myself tangling my hands in that long hair as she sucks my cock. My cock hardens in my jeans, and I have the urge to adjust but I ignore it. I don’t want to draw attention it and make her uncomfortable. I also have to physically restrain myself from reaching across the bench seat and pulling her toward me.
We make small talk about the job she’s starting with Greyson at his law office. I don’t think she realizes just how small Hollow’s Hollow is. I am only staying for the summer, but isn’t it crazy how meeting someone makes you want to change all of your plans? Growing up in Vermont, I was royalty. My parents, Boone senior and Muffin are rich as fuck yet somehow manage to be down to earth and caring. They run two of the largest charities in New England. They instilled their values in me and my younger sister Golden. At nineteen, she’s six years younger and still finding herself, her words, not mine. She accompanied me to West Virginia for the summer along with my best friend Pierson Brooks. They went back to Vermont a few days ago but will be back soon. I’m learning this side of the Blackstone family business from my cousin Jasper and having a blast doing it. I’ve never done anything unexpected, but falling for a girl in a coffee shop at first sight is pretty good my first time out.
She moans when she takes a drink of her coffee, and I grip the wheel tighter. For fuck’s sake, is she for real? I can definitely imagine her making these sounds when I’m balls deep inside of her.
“Are you okay?” she asks, reaching over and placing her hand on my arm.
“Yes, I’m fine,” I reply in a voice I don’t recognize. I have never been this turned on before. Never. There’s something about this girl. Fuck.
“Oh, good. I wouldn’t want you to stroke out or something in this heat. It’s unbearable.”
“Yeah… it’s something.” The agreement rolls off of my tongue. Heat stroke is the last thing on my mind.
“I really can’t thank you enough for coming to my rescue,” she says.
“You don’t have to keep thanking me, July.”
“I know, but this really is above and beyond. So many people would have just left me there to figure it out myself, which I totally could have done, by the way.”
“I know you could have, but that’s the thing about me. You don’t have to.”
Forty-five minutes in this girls presence and I’m already thinking about how to make it permanent.
That shouldn’t be too hard.
