CHAPTER TWO
-:- JIG -:-
Walking into the waiting room of the hospital, I take a seat next to Sting. He looks bored to death and has his phone out playing a game of some sort.
“How long have you been here waiting?” I ask.
Sting looks up from his phone when replying, “About an hour. It’s boring as shit. The nurse at the desk keeps giving everyone the eye. You know, the Come on, let’s get it on look .”
“You realize Mia will kill any of us that step out of line while she’s here having the baby…” I turn slightly as the bitch is giving me the eye now, and I’m not getting involved in any of that.
Fist, however, has arrived and saunters up to the reception desk, giving the woman a grin that we all know wins the ladies over. Walking to what I can only assume is a storeroom with the woman right behind him, my eyebrows raise. Aw, shit, he’s gonna be in trouble if Mia finds out.
Drag walks over from where he’d been sitting and takes the seat next to mine. “Do you reckon we should grab drinks or something?”
“No idea. Does anyone want a drink? It’s going to be disgusting, so why bother?” I reply.
“Yeah, suppose you're right. I’m just bored waiting. Wish she would hurry and push that baby out so we can all get back to what we were doing.” Drag runs his hands over his hair and frowns when loud squeals are heard. You guessed it, coming from the damn storeroom.
“It’s got to be as painful as shitting a watermelon out of your ass,” Sting blandly states, still with his eyes on his phone, but obviously listening to our conversation.
“Man, don’t say shit like that,” Drag moans at the thought.
The door flies open and Carrie, Raven, Kya, Winter, Jo, Gemmy, and Star all walk into the waiting room. All we are missing are Heather, Paisley, Destiny, Eden, and Tilly.
They are all carrying something. Basket of fruit, pamper box - whatever the fuck that is - bags with baby clothes inside, from what I overhear them saying to each other. You know what? I’m not interested.
The door opens, and a disheveled Fist and the woman appear from the storeroom, which has all the club Ol’ Ladies giving her the evil eye. She scuttles behind the desk, trying to tidy herself, but with the state of her hair, she has no chance.
“What’s taking so long?” Star asks, and the others give her an Are you for real look .
The room is packed now with brothers and Ol’ Ladies, and the woman on the desk is more than a little embarrassed knowing that we all know what she’s been doing with Fist in the damn storeroom.
Walking over to us, Fist gives a cocky smirk, and I shake my head at him. We get along great and have formed a friendship where we often go out on our hogs together. We’ve visited all over the country, checking out the Grand Canyon, Acadia National Park, Petrified Forest National Park, and more. He’s nowhere near ready to settle down, and quite happy to stick his dick in most who are willing. I just hope to fuck he keeps it wrapped.
“How much longer do you think it’s gonna be?” Fist asks, and everyone groans at the question because none of us wants to sit here for hours on end. But we all know we can’t leave or Axel will have our guts and never let us forget we left either.
“Come on, ladies, we’ve got a baby to get born,” Star states and I watch as she leads all the women out of the room and to the delivery suite.
Now, to say we are all shocked is an understatement, but none of us tries to stop her from leading the women out. Meat isn’t here for some reason - probably because he doesn’t like hospitals - but it leaves Star to do her own thing without him keeping her under control. Shit, that’s a stupid thing to think because he’s as crazy as she is and that’s why they are so suited to each other.
We all shoot to our feet and quickly head to the delivery suite entrance. I have to admit I must look like a deer caught in the headlights because the Ol’ Ladies are standing outside the room Mia is in, and they are shouting, “One, Two, Three, Push. Go girl… One, Two, Three, Push…”
Fuck me… I turn and retake my seat because I’m not getting involved in any of that shit.
Twenty minutes later Axel walks into the room, with the Ol’ Ladies right behind him. But he has a huge smile on his face. “Baby is fine. Mia is fine. I have a daughter.”
We surround Axel, back-slapping, laughing, and letting him know any little boys getting around his daughter, we’ll be making sure they disappear, never to be seen again. The Ol’ Ladies are shaking their heads at us, but let’s face it, they love us, so it’s all okay.
“What you calling her, Pres?” Mav asks.
“Summer Blackthorn,” Axel replies, puffing his chest out with pride.
“Oh, she’s a season, same as me,” exclaims Winter. “That makes her my favorite niece, and I’m going to be her favorite aunt.” Winter gives everyone a tremendous smile, but it has a gloating feel to it that has the other Ol’ Ladies up in arms. I’m getting the fuck out of here before a drama kicks off.
It’s been a week since Summer was born. Mia is still at the hospital due to complications following the birth. The Three Stooges are helping with the twins more than ever, while Destiny, or Red, as Rock calls her, has stepped up and is doing most of the merchandising. She’s helping wherever else she may be needed, too. Rock is more than happy that she is around the clubhouse, mostly because he knows where he can find her at any time. He’s a possessive bastard with her, but I understand, as he was like me, ready to settle down. I’m surprised he’s not put a baby in her belly yet.
Wiping my hands on a rag, I throw it into the trash can and walk through the garage reception where Maggie is taking payment from a customer. I give them both a chin lift as I pass and walk into the kitchen, where I grab a coffee from the machine and take a seat at the table. Sighing a little, as that last job was a shit to complete.
Grease walks into the kitchen and looks me over as he pours himself a drink. “RoadRunner is bringing Lily’s vehicle in. I need you to look it over and if it’s an easy fix, take it over to her place. She’ll either bring you back or I’ll have someone come and get you.”
Nodding, I pick up my mug, rinse it out at the sink, and ask, “Is he on his way?”
“Yeah, I would think he’ll be here in around twenty minutes.”
“Okay, I’ll get on it as soon as he brings it in. I’ll check on her account when we last serviced it.”
After checking on the system, I see that the vehicle is getting on in years and it’s about time she upgraded to something more reliable. At the moment Lily has a Jeep Wrangler. It has seen better days, and I’ll speak to Lily about trading it in for something better.
Roadrunner has been and dropped the vehicle before scooting off to pick up another damsel in distress, as he calls the females he rescues with broken down vehicles.
After spending the afternoon replacing the water pump and giving it a service, I head over to her costume shop. I never thought it would be a roaring trade but with Meat and Star using it all the time, and the theme nights, it gives Lily enough work, I’m sure.
Parking around the back of the shop, I knock on the back door and wait for Lily to unlock and let me in. She has her phone next to her ear, and she holds her finger up, basically saying to give her a minute.
I lean on the doorframe of the room, where all the sewing gets done. Antonia and Cleo look up from their tables and give me a smile. “Hi, Jig,” Cleo greets. As she’s bringing her crap vehicle in regularly, she knows all of us well.
“Your piece of shit still running?” I ask.
“No, I sold it to an idiot.” Cleo giggles and Antonia joins in, shaking her head too.
“I hope you didn’t tell them to bring it to us, ‘cause if I see it coming into the garage, I’ll be telling them to fuck off with it to someone else.”
Hearing Lily on the phone has my attention diverted for a moment. “Look, I told you the trust fund could sit until I’m ready to use it. I’ve had the other paid into my account and have been using it. Stop pestering me about the fund.”
That’s very interesting, I think to myself, and it answers the question of where some of this money she spends comes from. We’ve all wondered how she seems to be able to buy what she wants when she wants.
Hearing the back door open, I turn and see Knuckles stepping inside. “Here to pick you up. You ready?”
“Yeah, I’m ready,” Turning, I shout to Lily. “I’m off. You need to be trading that in soon, Lily, ‘cause we’re not going to be able to keep fixing it.”
“Okay, Jig, I’ll think about it.” I notice she’s holding her hand over her phone so whoever she’s speaking to doesn’t hear what’s being said.
Back at the clubhouse, I shower, change, and head downstairs for something to eat. The place is packed and all the Ol’ Ladies are here. Most are fussing over the twins, making sure they are alright with Mia not being here. It’s nice to see, but it seems there are babies everywhere.
“Jig!”
Turning from where I’m waiting to grab something to eat, I give Eden a smile. “How are you?” I ask, as she looks a little pale to me.
“I’m alright. I need to get some rest, but otherwise, I’m good. I wanted to ask you a question from Mia, actually. It’s all a bit hush-hush, though.”
“Okay, fire away.”
Leaning in, Eden whispers to me, and I nod my head as I’m listening. Turning to look at her when she stops speaking, I give her a smirk. “I can do that. Leave it with me.”
Giggling, Eden turns to walk back to her seat, but kisses my cheek and gives me a conspiratorial wink.
