Chapter Twenty-Nine

T odd watched Ulises drink himself into oblivion.

Izzy caught the bartender’s attention. The bartender was dressed in nothing but lacy panties. Izzy shook his head. That was all it took for the bartender to stop serving Ulises.

Ulises shrugged and got off the stool. He swayed. His eyes were big as he chuckled and said, “Whoa. When did the room start moving?”

Todd smiled. Ulises was a cute drunk. His cheeks had pink blotches and his eyes were glassy. He waved at them and then watched his fingers move as he waved again. “Neat.”

Izzy smiled but it didn’t change the tortured expression on his face. “He’s cute.”

“He’s a good boy, Iz.” Daruss sipped some clear liquid in a glass. “You hurt him. It’s not going to be easy for him to forgive. Takes time. It won’t just happen overnight. Bonding doesn’t always factor in when emotions are involved.” They sat with Daruss and his boys. His boys were barely dressed. One straddled the other’s lap. They were both very attractive. The bigger blond one had an angelic quality to him that made him almost ethereal. His name was Jude. The other one was cute in a boy-next-door kind of way. Raylee was the one on top. He wore a thong that left little to the imagination. Jude kept brushing his finger along Raylee’s ass crack.

“Todd and I bonded with him. We chose him. No one else.” Izzy sighed and shook his head. Izzy tightened his arm around Todd, kissing his temple. “Hell, we didn’t even really choose each other. Fate did. But I would have.”

“Me too.”

Ulises swayed too far to the right and stumbled into someone. The guy caught him and put an arm around him, steadying him. Ulises smiled. It was clear Ulises knew the person because he wore a vest similar to Izzy’s. They talked for a moment and then the guy turned to Izzy. His expression was one that said for Izzy to take care of his own problems.

Izzy stood to go to Ulises, but Todd stopped him. “I’ll talk to him.”

“Let me know how he is.” Poor Izzy. He looked defeated, as if he regretted every decision he’d ever made. Ulises not talking to either of them through their link didn’t help.

Todd kissed him. “It’s going to be okay.”

“You’re not going to tell me how much I deserve it?”

Todd shook his head. “Did you make promises to Ulises or Cain?”

“Not then. But I knew Ulises was catching feelings.”

“And so were you.” Todd cupped Izzy’s cheek. “You loved him. Even then.”

“He’s not the only one I love.”

Todd smiled. “I love you too, Daddy.”

Ulises stumbled down a hallway. The hall was dark and smelled of rotten eggs. It was a strange thing to smell in a bar. Shouldn’t it smell like sour alcohol or something?

He followed Ulises into the bathroom. The sign on the door included everyone, all genders. The message was clear. The club was inclusive.

Todd half-expected Ulises to lock the door because he thought it would be a one-person bathroom, but the door pushed open. There were stalls in the right corner of the room. Three of them. One was occupied. Since he couldn’t see Ulises, he must be inside.

Todd bent to see if he recognized Ulises’ shoes just to make sure. “Ully. You okay in there?”

“Can’t pee standing up.” Ulises slurred when he spoke. “Did you know the whole world is spinning?”

God, could he get any cuter? Todd smiled. “Yep. It’s in constant rotation.”

“How come I can’t feel it unless I’m drunk?” Before Todd could answer, Ulises launched into the next thing on his mind. “Guess what? Casper cut me off. I think I might be mad at him. I should be mad, right? Like I can say when I’ve had enough. He’s not my daddy.”

“No, but Izzy is. He told the bartender to stop serving you.”

Ulises sighed. “I can’t pee anymore.”

Todd snorted. “Are you finished?”

Ulises didn’t answer. Instead, he said, “Why does it smell in here?”

Smells bad in the hall and bathroom.

I’ll check it out in a few minutes. Is everything okay?

Fine. Ully is funny. I wish you could see him.

I’ll be there in a few. Stick with him. He’s drunk enough to get sick.

I won’t get sick. Ulises wasn’t mad anymore. Todd could tell.

Ulises sighed and then whined. Daddy.

Baby. Can I hold you?

Yeah. Right now, k?

He’s sitting on the toilet still. Just FYI. Todd chuckled.

Come out of the bathroom first.

Will you promise to only love me and Todd?

I don’t care about anyone but you and Todd. I promise. No more fucking around. I promise that too.

I’m done being mad at you.

Good. Now come out.

I have to pee still. A minute ago he said he couldn’t go anymore.

Well, go and then come out.

I’ll have to wash my hands.

All right. Pee, wash your hands, and then come here. Izzy amusement came through their bond.

The outer door opened, and two women entered. One was fully clothed with a vest and jeans. She kept her long dark hair pulled back in a ponytail. She was tall, certainly taller than the other woman who held on so tight it was as if she thought her immediate gratification depended on it. The smaller woman wore red bikinis and nothing else.

The sex in the Dragon Skulls club was off the charts. And Ulises was right. No one cared if they fucked when other people were around.

Todd shook his head when they didn’t acknowledge him. Instead they took over the stall in the corner. One of them, probably the biker lady, locked the door behind them.

“Fucking stinks in here.” One of them said.

“That’s what I said.” Ulises answered even though they hadn’t been talking to him. “Toddy, I love you. Can you make me cinnamon rolls?”

“When we get home.”

“I want them right now.”

“Now I do too.” One woman said and then chuckled.

The other said, “Focus, honey. Focus.”

“That’s the thing. Pot makes me focus on snacks.”

Todd chuckled. “Me too. Not that I have any.”

“Oooh, I want some of that too.” Ulises stood. Todd could hear him stumble against the stall wall. It was the only reason Todd knew he stood. “Toddy. I need help.”

Todd rattled the stall door. “Unlock it, Ully.”

Was it Todd or was his vision blurred? He blinked, trying to get his eyes to stop doing crazy things.

The door unlocked and Todd pushed inside.

Ulises shook his head as if trying to clear it. He said something but he slurred his words.

Todd helped Ulises get his pants up and fastened, but it took a lot longer than it should have. Todd held on to Ulises as they both fell to the floor.

Izzy. Something’s not…

Before he passed out, he saw the smaller woman fall to the bathroom floor. Then the other one fell. The blackness came and all he could think about was the smell of rotten eggs.
