3. Chapter One
Chapter One
I zzy patted Cain’s ass in a silent gesture for him to get off his lap. He didn’t want to do anything besides watch Ulises, and Cain was an unwanted distraction.
Every move the boy made was like a smooth glide across the floor. He laughed at something Easton said even as he danced with his arms over his head.
Ulises put Izzy on alert. Body, mind, soul. The boy had gotten under Izzy’s skin.
Hinrik came up behind him, putting an arm around his waist. Hinrik was a human who liked to dance but he never took it further. He didn’t even seem to care about some of the public sex stuff that happened. His eyes never strayed toward anyone, and he didn’t ask to watch. He also never drank anything more than a soda and always tipped the bartenders.
He was harmless but that didn’t stop Izzy from shifting partially. His eyes turned reptilian, and his fangs extended. He’d never felt possessive before. It was a foreign thing inside him like some monster trying to burst out of his chest.
Instead of standing, Cain sat further back on Izzy’s lap and rubbed his ass against Izzy’s erection. “Is that for me, Daddy?”
“Nope. See that boy dancing. The one with a pretty smile and big brown eyes. It’s all for him.” He might have broken hearts with his playboy ways but he had never lied to any of them.
Cain stuck his bottom lip out. He was pretty too, but in a different way. He had black hair and eyes, and wore designer clothes. His attire made him stick out amongst the others in the Dragon Skulls Club.
Most people who came knew of the club through word-of-mouth. Either that or they worked or lived close by. They were technically in Wingspan township, which was a small dragon shifter town. Most people didn’t make the type of money to dress the way Cain did, nor did they seem to care about designer clothing.
Blue-collar workers who liked moonshine, bikes, and bikers. Those three things motivated almost everyone in the club who wasn’t a Dragon Skull. Cain’s main motive was to fuck his way into becoming a Dragon Skull. It hadn’t been the first time someone had tried and it probably wouldn’t be the last. There were a few ways to become a part of the family, but fucking everyone to get in wasn’t one of them.
Cain huffed and finally stood. “Asshole.”
Izzy shrugged. He’d been called worse. It wasn’t as though Cain was wrong.
“So we’re done fucking then?” Cain raised his voice, thinking Izzy couldn’t hear him as he walked away.
“I told you right from the start I don’t get serious.” And maybe that made Izzy an asshole too. He felt nothing for Cain beyond general caring for someone’s wellbeing. Nothing special at any rate.
Cain was someone he fucked when it suited him. If he wanted Cain, he would be available. Not that Izzy wanted to anymore. Cain had gotten too clingy.
“I thought you said you could get me into the club.” Cain could whine with the best of them.
“You paid the door fee, right? Just like everybody else.” Izzy shook his head. He wasn’t stupid. He knew what Cain meant. The man was delusional.
That last reason was why Izzy needed to distance himself. He didn’t want to be a party to Cain’s drama.
“You know what I mean, Izzy.” Cain huffed again.
“Nope. And I don’t have time for you to explain it to me.” Izzy stood and turned toward the dance floor.
“Fine. Fuck you then.” Cain headed for the bar.
“I’ll just fuck off now.” Izzy smirked and made his way to the person he couldn’t stop thinking about.
Cain sat on a stool and glared at Ulises as though the whole conversation was his fault.
He was in time to see Hinrik move on to one of the other boys.
Izzy stopped halfway toward Ulises, cursing under his breath. Realizing his true feelings for Ulises were like a kick in the gut. Hell, a kick would have felt better.
He did not fall in love with Ulises. He was the boy with the tumor. The one who could die like Maya had. How had he let himself get so deep?
Instead of dancing with Ulises as he had planned, he passed Ulises and headed for the front door.
Ulises grabbed his wrist, stopping him. His brow creased in concern. “Are you okay?”
“I’m good, baby.” And shit. There he went, using an endearment as though Ulises were his. He cleared his throat and made an effort to correct himself. “Um…Ulises.”
Ulises smiled and slid next to Izzy, putting an arm around him as if seeking comfort. “Are you sure? You seem upset.”
Izzy couldn’t resist. He held Ulises close while telling himself it would be one last time. One last hug. “I’m sure. How are you feeling?”
“Dizzy lately. Don’t tell Easton. I’m not ready for the blood tests and stuff.” Ulises laid his head on Izzy’s chest.
Izzy was the one who started to sway to the music.
One more dance and then he’d let Ulises down easy.
“I’m sorry you’re going through all that.” He’d been sorry when Maya had been tortured by cancer too. Not that Ulises had cancer. As far as Izzy understood, the tumors were benign. But they could still grow out of control.
Izzy wanted to rip them out of him and fight every last one. They were monsters that didn’t have a right to take his boy’s life.
Izzy sighed.
Not that Ulises was his boy.
“I’m used to it.”
“Can I make you feel good?” If fucking Ulises was all Izzy could do to help, then he wanted to give him that. Even if it was one more time.
“How?” Ulises smiled up at him.
Izzy wiggled his eyebrows. “Have you been a bad boy?”
Ulises chuckled. “Very bad.”
“Then get against the wall.” Izzy nodded to the far wall where the shadows were deep enough for people to stay hidden but still give them the rush of a public setting.
Ulises’s pace was close to a run as he crossed the room to the corner. The space was never empty. They’d gotten lucky.
Izzy stalked him, growling when he closed the distance. He ran his hand down Ulises’ side to his ass.
“Let me see your pretty ass, baby.” One last time and then he’d stop calling Ulises his baby.
Ulises fumbled with the button on his jeans. He was thinner than he probably should have been. No doubt the effects of being sick for most of his life. Ulises’ ass still had a bit of padding, though. Much like the rest of him. The thinness didn’t detract from that, nor did the tumors causing it. If anything it spoke of his resilience, which made him even hotter.
Izzy pulled the lube from his pocket before moving his pants aside enough to get his cock out. “Do you need prep?”
“Maybe a little.”
“Are you okay like this? We can go to my place if you’d rather.” Izzy almost wanted him to say he wanted a bed. Izzy could have him all night. He could hold him while he slept. And then in the morning he could break it off.
“Just fuck me, Izzy.”
Izzy lubed his finger and stuck it inside. It was on the tip of his tongue to correct Ulises and tell him to call him Daddy, but he held himself back. He wouldn’t give himself that.
Ulises’ body was warm and inviting.
He pushed against Izzy’s finger and when he added another one, he moaned Izzy’s name. “Love when you’re inside me.”
There was that word being thrown around. Izzy almost walked away. But Ulises didn’t deserve it. He didn’t deserve for Izzy to break his heart either, but that was inevitable.
Or maybe Izzy wouldn’t break his heart. Maybe it was too much of a presumption that he would. If it wasn’t, he could do something to make Ulises angry. Words that would sever the bond that had formed. Something mean-spirited. An angry Ulises was a lot better than a sad one.
Izzy pulled out his fingers and put the rest of the lube onto his cock before pressing into Ulises.
Izzy loved being inside Ulises too. Not that he would say so. He thrust, wanting to get off as soon as possible and then get the fuck out of the club for a while. Maybe go for a long ride on his bike. Anything so that he wouldn’t have to see Ulises’ trusting face.
Ulises moaned and pressed into each thrust. He took his cock in hand, understanding Izzy wanted it quick and dirty.
Izzy held himself back long enough for Ulises to come first but when Ulises’ muscles tightened around his cock, he leaned in with an arm around his waist, kissing his neck. “Love this so much, baby.”
And then Izzy came inside Ulises. One last time.
