Epilogue
Beck
F inding our mate has been a huge adjustment for the club, but Ivy fits in a little too well. She gets along with all of the sweetbutts, even Vixen, who quickly learned her lesson after Ivy nearly killed her. And the members all respect the hell out of her. It doesn't hurt that she can ride better than any of them. We don't tell them it's because her bike takes over sometimes.
The only real point of contention with Ivy has been our living situation. Our mate may be the most deadly assassin, but she lives like a pampered princess in her mansion. She's been complaining about spending time at the ranch every day for months. King had the bright idea to surprise her with an addition to the compound. While she's been away on an assignment/"bestie vacay" out of the country, he hired the contractor that built her house to construct an add-on that would befit our queen.
It's finally done, just in time for her to get back tonight. I can't wait to show her.
"When's she getting back?" Jax grumbles as he paces the living room, popping the top to his beer.
"She'll be home in an hour. You know this. We've told you every thirty minutes for the past eight hours," I glare at him.
"What if she hates it?" he mutters.
"She's going to love it. It's like at her house. She'll probably never leave the bathroom again," I chuckle.
"Good thing that shower is big enough for two." He smirks as he finally settles down and stops pacing.
"Her entire wing is big enough for all seven of us. That was kinda the point." I roll my eyes.
"Whatever," he grumbles.
"Heads up! Killer has crossed the first perimeter sensor!" DJ shouts down the hallway.
Jax and I jump up and look around. "She's not due for another hour!"
"She must have wanted to surprise us and lied about her timing," Cree shrugs as he walks toward the door. "You know she likes doing that kind of shit."
"It's true. She is a sneaky bitch," Neo laughs.
By the time Cree opens the door, Ivy's already parking her bike… Sorry. Scarlet . Hell, if I ever referred to Kira as a car, even in my thoughts, she'd probably kill me with carbon monoxide poisoning.
"You're early," I call from the porch when she gets off of Scar.
"Are you going to punish me for being early ?" She arches a perfectly sculpted brow in challenge.
"Oh, baby. I'll punish you, if that's what you want."
"No!" King shouts. "Ivy, we've all missed you. Come inside and let us show you how much."
"Ohhh, I like the sound of that." She grins.
She comes inside, kissing each of my brothers as she passes. When she gets to me, she attempts to walk by without giving me my kiss, but I don't let that shit slide. Grabbing her wrist as she walks past, I pull and spin her into me.
"Try that again, love," I breathe in her ear as I hold her to me.
"Oh, did you want something?"
"Is that really how you want to play this? Wouldn't you hate to ruin any welcome home plans we've made?"
"You made welcome home plans?" She tilts her head back and looks at me upside down. Fuck, she's adorable.
"Wouldn't you like to know."
"Fine," she huffs. "I'm sorry I was a brat."
"Was that so hard?" I loosen my grip and spin her around so she's facing me.
"Absolutely." She sticks her tongue out at me.
I snap at it as if I'll bite it, before kissing her.
"Come on you two!" King barks.
"You do have welcome home plans!" Her face lights up and she escapes my loose hold, running toward the others. "What is it? What is it?" she asks, bouncing on her toes.
"What have I said about patience, love?" I chuckle as I walk up behind her.
"Screw you and your patience. Show me!"
We all laugh. One of these day's our mate's going to learn a little patience, today clearly is not that day.
"Cree with show me, won't you?" She flutters her lashes at him.
"We're all going to show you, sweet girl. No need to use your feminine wiles." Cree pulls her into him and kisses her before dragging her down the hallway.
"Where are we going?"
"To your surprise, of course." He smirks.
"You got me a surprise?!" She squeals.
"I love how easily excitable she is," Neo chuckles.
Ivy stops in her tracks when we turn the corner and see there's another turn at the end of the hall.
"What's that?"
"Keep walking and find out," King smirks.
Not needing to be told twice, she picks up the pace and we follow close behind. At the end of the hall we turn again and Ivy takes in the long hallway that was not there last time she was here.
"You added on to the house?" she gasps.
"We thought it was time you had your own space. Don't you agree?" King smiles.
"But that doesn't mean you're not welcome in my space any time you want." Neo winks at her.
"But this is like an entire wing !"
"And? You have a lot of stuff," King says. "You need more room than us."
"I do not!" huffs.
"Really? So when were you planning on moving your pets?" Cree challenges.
"There's no room here for them."
"Exactly. Now, there is," he says as he opens the first door.
Ivy gasps when she walks into the room. We had a vet help us design an indoor/outdoor sanctuary so all of her little, and some not so little, friends can either be inside or outside. They all still have their individual enclosures, but for those like George who prefer to be loose, they now have the option.
We almost lose her as she explores the room, checking on each of her animals.
"Who's this? Where'd you come from, little guy?" she coos.
"That is Geoff. We noticed you didn't have your own deathstalker. No collection of deadly creatures is complete without one," Jax says.
"Awww. You got me a mini you. That's so sweet!"
"I'll show you sweet," he growls and chases after her.
Laughing, she runs through the giant terrarium until she crashes into King.
"Alright, you two. We're not done yet."
"Really?"
He raises a brow. "Have you seen your room yet?"
"I have a room?"
"Swear to god, I'm going to beat you, girl," he growls and Ivy laughs.
"Of course, you have a fucking room."
"Well, then… Show me to my room, good sir!"
He scoops her up in his arms and carries her bridal style out of the beasties' room and down the hall a ways to the next door. Setting her down on her feet, kisses her. "Ok, close your eyes."
She pretends to scowl, but it's not convincing, so she gives in and closes her eyes.
He quietly opens the door and we all file in before her. Once we're in our places, so each of us can see her reaction to the room, he tells her, "Open."
Her eyes fly open. "Wow, look at that bed," she gasps when she walks into the room.
It's not surprising that's the first thing she sees, it takes up almost the entire room.
"Wanna break it in?" Neo wiggles his brows earning a laugh from Ivy.
"Not so fast. The surprise isn't over," King says.
"There's more ?" Ivy's eyes widen.
"You haven't seen the best part yet," DJ assures her.
"Ok, ok. Wait a second. You're saying not only is there more but there's better , too?"
"We know how much you hate all of our tiny ass bathrooms , as you like to call them," DJ says. Her mouth drops as I explain.
"You didn't!" She gasps.
She doesn't even wait for a response, just runs straight to the door on the other side of the room.
"Oh my god, you did!"
"Is she really surprised? She's been complaining for months. Did she really think we wouldn't give her her bathroom?" Jax scoffs.
Rolling my eyes at my brother, I look around the room. It looks amazing. They did an excellent job turning our vision into reality. Suddenly I hear the water turn on and I chuckle at her eagerness. Then I realize Neo is nowhere to be seen.
"Let's break the shower in first," he says from the bathroom.
That mother fucker.
