A Playoff Clinch and a Tragedy

Kara: Michael, Carter, thank you so much for coming in, especially after New's brother Eren.

Carter: sighs yeah, it was a tough blow to the team, especially Henry because that's his line mate.

Kara: And your boyfriend, right, Addison?

Carter: they broke up a couple of weeks before his body was found.

Kara: Huh. Makes a note

Kara: How are both of you doing? I know you two were closest to him.

Carter: I mean, it's been tough. But the team has been stronger than ever. We're actually doing a vigil for him and we hope his killer will be brought to justice.

Kara: For anyone interested in that vigil, it will take place at 6:30 PM in front of Pandora's Box, right before the game against Lakeshore.

Kara: I heard there were a couple of new players on the team. How are they working out?

Carter: Sawyer and Keaton are amazing. Sawyer's hockey sense is just unprecedented. He'll know a play before I will. He is great to pass to, he can handle a pass. And those shots, especially his wrist shot, are just unstoppable. And Keaton is such a demon on the ice. He's fast which people don't really expect because of his size. And he's aggressive, he's not afraid to drop the gloves or get in the corners, increases in order to get a puck in hopes of causing a turnover.

Kara: How about the assistant coach? checks notes Saint Bernthal?

Carter: Yeah, I mean he's an alumni of Crestwood. A guy is a beast. A warrior. He really knows how to take care of his body and knows the limit. I think he is an incredible asset, and he works really well with Coach Morgan and I think that helps too.

Kara: Congratulations on making it to the playoffs and clenching that spot. As you know, playoffs start next month. Do you have any changes in practice or mindset?

Carter: Right now, we're taking it one game at a time. I think that we still need to recover from the loss of Eren. But, like I said, even though we've clinched a spot, we don't want to let it go to our heads. Every game is Do or Die and we've always felt that way and that's why we've had the success that we've had this season.

Kara: Well, thank you so much for taking the time to talk to me. I know it's been a difficult time for both of you. Do you guys have someone you can turn to, you can go to in times like these?

Carter: looks at Addison. Yes, I am lucky to have someone I'd trust more than anything.

Kara: Oh? Does this mean Michael Carter, number two draft pick, most eligible bachelor, voted most wanted to take home to mom, is off the market?

Carter: I only have eyes for her.

Kara: Anyone we know?

Carter: exchanges a look with Addison again I think that's all the questions I have time for today. I really appreciate the interview and thank you so much for everything.

Carter and Addison leave together, their fingers lightly brushing

Kara: I think that was the first nice interview I have conducted with the team as of right now. Even the assistant coach was the biggest asshole.
