Chapter Thirty-Six

Finally!

Y ou wrap your arms around my neck and press against me, pleading and demanding, finally giving in. God, Beauty, I’m almost overwhelmed imagining all the things I can do to you and all the places I can fuck you here.

I want you everywhere. I want to hear your hot moans echoing off the walls and lose myself entirely in your heavenly tightness and lust-filled eyes.

Impatiently, I push you back against the nearest locker to continue kissing you out of your mind until we can’t breathe.

You’re already grabbing the waistband of my training pants, but I want to enjoy you, and I definitely don’t want this to turn into a cheap quickie in the changing room. You won’t be able to stop screaming and moaning, baby. And you’ll come again and again just for me.

So I grab your hands and pin them against the locker with mine above your head. I let our fingers intertwine as I kiss my way down your neck and push my knee roughly between your legs, making you gasp again. But when my fingers touch your gigantic wedding ring, you flinch as if I’ve slapped you across the face before you tense up completely. No. No! No! No! NO! Don’t do this to me, baby! I must have you! NOW!

Breathless and in agony, I break away from you and release you. Jaw-grinding, I stand close in front of you and stare at your ring, which you twist on your finger like you always do when you’re nervous, and I know I’ve lost to that asshole again.

Fuck! I’m going to lose it if I can’t have you today! I can’t let you go back to that motherfucker without the assurance that I can give you everything you need. I know there’s a chance for us. Baby, don’t let me lose my last shred of hope!

You stand in front of me, staring at that damned ring with its countless studs, just like I am. You turn it back and forth, making the diamonds sparkle, and all I can think about is ripping it off your finger and hurling it far away. It’s a constant reminder that you’re not mine—that this white gold circle is like a brand, marking you as someone else’s.

You lift your head and meet my eyes. I look down at your finger again and know I’ve lost. I take your face between my hands to give you an innocent kiss on the forehead. That’s all I’m capable of because if I touch your fucking sinful lips again, I’ll throw this all away and take you right here and now.

I want to pull away from you, giving you the chance to leave, because now that you’ve reminded yourself of your supposedly happy marriage, that’s probably what you want to do. But unexpectedly, I watch you slowly slip your wedding ring off your finger and drop it into the open gym bag next to us.

I look at you, my brow furrowed, unsure of what this means. But when a sexy smile graces your full lips, and not a second later, you pull me close and start kissing me; I know that this has only just begun. Fuck, Beauty, you’re perfect!
