Chapter 26

Mars

I couldn’t believe this was actually happening. Samuel loved me. I sat up and swung one leg over his waist so that I was straddling him. Our eyes met and his lips quirked up in a grin.

“What are you doing, Kitten?”

“I was thinking. After a day like today, we have a lot to celebrate.”

He placed his hands on my hips and raised one eyebrow. “We do. Do you have any ideas how?”

I gripped his shoulders and rolled my hips. “A few maybe.”

“I like the way you think. Should we take this to the bedroom?”

“We could, or we could just stay right here.” It was only the two of us here, so it wasn’t like anyone would see us, but still, there was something so naughty feeling about riding him right here in the living room that gave me a little thrill.

I grabbed the hem of my shirt and slowly lifted it over my head. His eyes darkened and he slipped one hand up behind my head, pulling my mouth to his. We’d had sex many times at this point, but this felt different. More somehow. I guess because I knew that it wasn’t temporary; this was the real thing.

I tugged on his shirt, wanting it off. He lifted his arms so I could pull it over his head and then I ran my hands up through the coarse salt-and-pepper hair that covered his chest.

I rocked against him again, the feel of his hard length under me lighting me up.

“I want to ride you right here on the couch, but we don’t have supplies. This is never happening again. I’m about to stash lube all over this house.”

He chuckled and shook his head. “Well, I’m not going anywhere, so why don’t you go get what we need?”

I hopped up quickly and made a dash for the bedroom. I pulled open the drawer by the bed and grabbed the bottle of lube. Then I hurried back into the living room where Samuel was waiting, completely naked. I froze where a stood and looked at him.

“Fuck, Daddy. You are so sexy.”

He wrapped his hand around his erection and gave it a pump. “I’m glad you think so, but why don’t you come on over here and finish what you started?”

I licked my lips, trying to decide between dropping to my knees for him or climbing up on top of him and riding him. In the end, the need to be filled won out, and I quickly stripped off the rest of my clothes, tossing them on the couch beside him before getting back into position.

I popped open the lube and poured some into my hand. Then I gripped his cock and got it all nice and slick for me. I wasn’t one for pain most of the time, but today, I didn’t want to prep myself. I just wanted him deep inside me, stretching my hole.

I lined myself up and took a deep breath as I lowered myself down on him inch by inch. He dropped his hands back down on my hips and closed his eyes. “Fuck, Kitten. You feel so good.”

I trailed kisses down his throat, giving myself a minute to adjust. Then I started to move up and down. His cock slipped partway out of me and then slid back inside, over and over.

He moved one hand around my body and gripped my cock, stroking it over and over in time with my movements.

That familiar tingle made its way down my spine to my balls, and I knew I wouldn’t last long.

“I’m going to come.” I didn’t so much ask for permission as state a fact, but he didn’t seem to mind.

“Do it, baby. Come for Daddy.”

I slammed down on him one more time. My back arched and I cried out as my climax tore through me.

He gripped my hips tight and held me in place as he took over, thrusting up into me over and over until he threw back his head and filled my channel with his own release.

I collapsed on him, and he wrapped his arms around me, holding me tight.

Samuel

When I left the station the day of the attack, the mayor had strongly suggested I take Friday off, and Mars had stayed home too. We’d spent most of the day curled up on the couch, binge-watching a baking show even though neither of us was much of a baker.

I’d talked to pretty much every member of my family to reassure them that I really was fine. Steven had wanted to come see for himself, and I couldn’t blame him. If the shoe were on the other foot, you couldn’t have kept me away, so we’d decided he and Roxy would come over to the house for dinner.

Steven and I had been really close when he was a boy, but as he got older, we’d butted heads more than once. He was very independent—a lot like his mother—and like her, he’d felt that I was too domineering.

But when he and Roxy showed up, it was like he was that small boy again. He grabbed me and pulled me into a hug that lasted way longer than normal.

“Don’t you scare me like that again, old man,” he mumbled before letting me go.

“I’ll try not to.”

Steven turned to Mars. “How are you?”

“I’m good.” Mars came over to us and hugged Steven.

“Where’s Kismet?” Steven looked around for the cat.

“She’s asleep on our bed. Her favorite spot is on Samuel’s pillow. Darn traitor.”

“So, Mars, what are you going to do with all the stuff you have out in the garage?” Roxy asked.

I didn’t even give him a chance to think about his answer. “He’s going to unpack it all and make this house his home.”

He grinned at me. “Well, most of it maybe. Some of it, I’ll return. We don’t need two sets of pots and pans.”

“Okay, you have me there. But most of it can stay. We’ll find a place for anything you want to keep.”

Steven laughed. “I’m trying to picture you living in a world as colorful as Mars’s.”

“If that’s what makes him happy, then I’m all for it. Bring on the color.”

“Okay then, let’s get to it. We don’t have anything better to do. Let’s unpack some boxes.” Steven grabbed Mars by the arm and dragged him toward the garage.

“They’re like two little boys when you get them together,” Roxy said.

“It’s good to see that nothing has changed in that regard.”

That had been one of my biggest concerns. Steven had been so against us being together, and the last thing I wanted was to cause a rift between the two of them. After the dinner we’d all had the other night, I felt like we were on the right track, but it was still a relief to see them together.

“Nah, they’re good. Steven just needed a minute to wrap his brain around the idea.”

I knew she was right. Steven may have gotten his independence from his mother, but he’d gotten a stubborn streak from me. I was just glad it hadn’t taken too long for him to come around.

“I guess we should go help them carry boxes. I don’t even know what all he has out there.”

A couple of hours, two pizzas, and a bunch of empty boxes later, Roxy and Steven headed home, and it was just me and Mars. I looked around, and Steven hadn’t been kidding about the color. A collection of candles, statues, and large crystals had been added to my shelves. Colorful suncatchers hung in the windows, and bright cushions littered the couch.

The house looked nothing like it had when I woke up this morning, but I wouldn’t change a thing if it meant Mars felt at home here.

Nothing mattered more to me than my boy and his happiness, so putting up with a more boho style in my house was a small price to pay for the joy he brought to me every single day.

He looked around, worried. “We don’t really have to keep all this stuff, you know.”

“I know, but I kinda like it.”

“You do?”

“I do. It reminds me of you, so what’s not to love?”
