17: Oh, Mighty Queen
Despite my sympathy and compassion, I did not care for the way they talked to my friend. My understanding and willingness to help them did not give them permission to abuse anyone - or excuse them from facing consequences for their actions.
"Carry on," I said gravely and nodded my head, imitating what I"d seen Queen Lilah do at tea with one of the waiters.
"It"s Posy. Posy Black. Nice to meet you."

After Tyler explained what espresso was, I was glad there wasn"t one. Mr. Herron seemed to be in overdrive twenty-four seven. His poor heart would probably explode with that much caffeine in his system.
"Aw!" She pouted for a second, then brightened up when he dropped a quick kiss on her lips.
"Oh!" My eyes widened.
Finally, the boys walked me to the gym, which was on their way to auto mechanics with Mr. Hall. I wasn"t too keen on gym, but at least I had it with Peri and Tyler. Peri and I met up in the locker room, where we met Ms. Achebe, a small, trim black human. She said we wouldn"t need to dress out today, but we would tomorrow, so I immediately linked Wyatt to remind me to bring my gym clothes.
It all sounded fairly reasonable to me until they directed us to line up with boys on one side and girls on the other for a game called dodgeball. Once I understood what it was, I lost all respect for both teachers.
