Chapter Nineteen

Chase

The bus had just dropped us off at Daddy's house, soon to be mine, too, and I dreaded the idea of leaving him to go home and pack. In my eyes, I never had enough time with him, though that was all about to change.

"Come on, Songbird, let's go inside and relax."

As soon as we stepped inside, a new piece of art caught my eye and I wandered over to it. "Daddy," I gasped, my fingers tracing the beautiful frame. "It's your song." There was a metal placard on the bottom of the frame that read, "My Last Chase."

Daddy came behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. "You are my last Chase, Little Songbird. That's one of the most beautiful sentiments I've ever received. That song means more to me than you will ever know."

"You say the nicest things, Daddy."

"And I mean them. Come on, let's drop off our bags. I have more surprises for you."

More surprises?

Daddy opened the bedroom door and set his bag on the bed. "Wait, that's my bed?" I wasn't quite sure, but it looked like my headboard, and Daddy's was a queen and now we had a king.

"Yup." Daddy smiled wide as I glanced around the room for more familiar things. Daddy pointed to the hallway. "I believe what you're looking for is now in the spare room."

I dropped my bag, ran across the hall and flung the door open.

"Welcome home, Chase! "

I screamed and jumped back, and Daddy laughed. So not funny.

Henry and Jamie giggled and hugged me. "Look at your new playroom."

"My playroom?" And there it all was. My shelves and collectibles. But there was so much more added to it. Cars and blocks and a big, huge fluffy bear cave bed thingy. "Daddy?"

"Another gift we owe Easton for. Once he confirmed with you that you planned to move in here, he helped me get your things."

Just then I heard the front door open.

"Ah, the rest of the surprises are here."

Everyone left the room, but I stayed behind. My eyes filled with tears as I took in all my Daddy had done for me. "Spidey!" I hollered as I traced the decals on the walls. Daddy had all my favorites in one place in the home I now shared with my favorite person in the world.

What had I ever done to deserve this man or his love?

"Daddy, look, it's my friend David!" Henry shouted and I went out to the living room when I heard my best friend's name.

"Hey, little man," David hugged him. "It's great to see you." David went around and introduced himself and Jordan to Henry and Jamie's Daddies.

Where had they hidden? They weren't in the room when I opened the door. Or were they ?

"Daddy David, what are you doing here?" Henry asked him.

"Chase is my best friend, and his Daddy told me you guys would be here so I came to see you. Is that okay?" David was so good with him, no wonder he knew how to handle me.

Henry's head bobbed up and down and he took David by the hand and dragged him over to Jamie. "This is my friend Jamie. Jamie, this is Daddy David."

"Hi, Daddy David." In typical Jamie fashion, he threw his arms around David.

Jordan stood beside him smiling. "Henry, Jamie, this is my boy, Jordan."

"Are you a little?" Jamie asked Jordan.

"I'm not, but that's okay. Guess what?" Henry and Jamie's eyes were glued to Jordan, the suspense too much for their hyper little bodies to handle as they anxiously shifted from foot to foot. "I made you guys a special lunch today."

"Yay!" they cheered, and my mind wandered to the prep he must've done on Rhone's bus on the way back, which at second glance was still parked out front. But no Rhone or Ely were present.

Henry and Jamie took off running laps around the living room, their Daddies desperately tried to catch them until Jordan released a shrill whistle that brought them to a dead stop .

"He's a little scary," Jamie tried but failed to whisper to Henry.

"Little bit," Henry agreed. "But he made us a special lunch."

"Jordan, enough," David warned. "You're scaring the boys. Let's bring lunch in."

"Need an extra set of hands?" Henry's Daddy Mitchell asked.

"Yes, please." David, Mitchell, and Jordan walked out to the bus.

I found Daddy in the kitchen and planted a big kiss on his lips.

"What was that for, Songbird?" Daddy held me tight, and I snuggled in.

"Because I love you more than I ever thought possible."

"Right back at cha, Little Songbird. You fill my heart with joy. I love you, so very much."

"Okay, everyone out," Jordan commanded as he took over the kitchen. "Dinner will be ready in an hour. Why don't you go swim?"

I warred with swimming or playing in my new room.

"Why don't we swim first, Songbird, then after dinner you and your friends can play."

See, that's why having a Daddy was perfect. He made all the right decisions. "Okay, Daddy, I'll go change." But once I got there I was lost. "Where were all my clean clothes? "

"Open the dresser drawers and look into the closet." I turned and Daddy stood leaning against the door frame looking like the angel he was with the sunlight behind him.

I slid the drawers open and there were my clothes folded way nicer than I ever had. I snagged my trunks and began undressing. Daddy slipped inside and shut the door.

"For Daddy's eyes only, my love." I giggled. Daddy didn't share, either.

I waited for Daddy to change then we went outside where Henry and Jamie were playing with their Daddies in the water. I slid out of my shirt and tossed it on one of the chairs. When I turned around, all eyes were on me.

"If I looked that good without a shirt on I'd never wear one," Henry said, and Jamie nodded. My little wasn't comfortable with big boy compliments and he slowly slid back into hiding.

"Someone is skating on thin ice," Daddy Jensen warned Henry.

"He's perfect ‘cause he has to be. He's Chase Prescott," Jamie said the one thing I feared most about living the true me.

The Daddies froze, all eyes were back on me, and I hated it.

"You work out, huh?" Henry asked and just like that the air shifted.

"Not really. "

"Lucky duck," Henry shook his head.

"Henry and Jamie," Daddy addressed them using his serious Daddy voice. "You know how important it is in our lifestyle to keep things private." Both boys nodded. "We are trusting you to keep Chase's secret. Understood?"

"Yes, Daddy Casey," they readily agreed.

"Chase is our best friend. We would never hurt him that way," Jamie replied.

Henry and Jamie ran over and hugged me and held on a bit longer than their Daddies liked.

"Henry, Jamie, time to release your death grip on Chase. Now!" Daddy Timothy commanded, and they dropped their arms.

"Sorry, Chase. Please don't be mad at us," Henry said.

"I'm sorry, too, Chase, but I love hugs, and you know that." That much I did know about Jamie.

"I do. Maybe you could come to one of our shows sometime," I said right as David stepped outside.

"We'll get you backstage passes. You and your Daddies will have the best seats in the house," David added.

They looked like two perfectly synced bobble heads as they cheered and yelled, "Yes!"

"Did you know we own a bookstore?" Henry asked me .

"I did not, and I love to read. I'd like to see it." Bookstores called to me nearly as much as toys and music did.

"I'd love that." Henry danced off toward his Daddies.

"My Daddy is an animal doctor," Jamie added, clearly proud of his Daddy's work, as he should be.

"I asked my Daddy for a puppy. Maybe Daddy Timothy could help us find the right one?" I got excited just thinking about it. Animals always brought my little out and he was peeking around the corner again.

"Yes, my Daddy totally would!"

"Chase, I'd love to help you and Daddy Casey find the right pup for you. I volunteer at a local rescue and will meet you there when you're ready." Daddy Timothy was awesome, and he was gonna help me get my puppy.

I glanced over at my Daddy. "We would love that, Daddy Timothy, and graciously accept your offer. I'll be in touch."

"Yay! I'm getting a puppy!" I danced around and David laughed.

"Good job, little man. You deserve a pup of your own." I hugged David then ran for the pool.

"Cannonball!"

David chased me in, and the madness began. We didn't stop until Jordan hollered it was time to eat.

We dried and changed and hit the kitchen .

"Look, Daddy," Jamie hollered, "mini tacos and burritos and chimis!"

"Good job, Jordan," Daddy Jensen said. "Perfect littles food. Do you cater parties and events?"

"Ely and I absolutely do and doing this for Casey was a great experience for us. Ely helped but he and Rhone wanted to get home to his sister so they couldn't stay." What a way for Jordan and Ely to drum up business. I bet tons of Daddies and Mommies at the club would totally use them for their parties and munches.

Our Daddies put our food in these coolio trays that even had slots for dippy sauces. Daddy gave me three burritos, three tacos, and three mini chimis with salsa, pico, and guacamole to dip them in. I loved them all.

"This is nummy, nummy, nummy," Jamie sang as he dipped away.

"Dippy, dippy, dippy," Henry sang as he did the same.

David and Jordan joined us at the table with plates of their own.

"This is yummy, Jordan. Thank you," I said as I shoved an entire mini bean burrito in.

"Careful, little man, don't choke," David warned.

"Sorry, Daddy David." There, my little came out of hiding. Good boy. "He-he."

"What's so funny, Songbird?" Daddy asked.

"Just my head being silly is all."

"Is there dessert?" Jamie had guacamole on his chin, and I giggled. Daddy Timothy rolled his eyes and wiped it off.

"You have another taco to finish, Jamie."

"I know." He shimmied in his seat and sang his nummy song as he finished it off. "There, Daddy," he held his hands up and they were covered in bits of everything. Daddy Timothy shook his head and wiped him off. "Now can I have dessert?"

Not sure if this was what Jordan expected with my new friends, but he was smiling so I figured it was okay.

"I made bite-sized eclairs for dessert." Jordan was a hit at this party.

"Yay!" The three of us cheered and threw our hands in the air but Henry hadn't been wiped off yet and he flung cheese that landed on Daddy Mitchell.

"Henry, sometimes I don't know what to do with you," Daddy Mitchell said as he wiped him down.

"Just love me, Daddy, that's all I ask." Henry's Daddies each kissed one of Henry's cheeks.

"That, my sweet boy, we can promise to do." Daddy Jensen was a nice Daddy.

"Why don't you boys go play in Chase's playroom while the Daddies clean up the kitchen?" Daddy said and we ran down the hall giggling all the way to my new room.

I ran across the floor and dove into my big fluffy bear cave. "I'm gonna marry my Daddy. "

"You are? When?" Jamie asked.

"I don't know when, but I know where."

"Where?" Henry asked as they joined me in my cave.

"Disneyland!"

After everybody left, I played in my room while Daddy did some of our laundry.

I was building cool stuff with my blocks when he came in. "Look, Daddy, look!" I clapped my hands at the tall building I'd made with my new blocks.

"You are such a good boy, Little Songbird." He crawled across the floor and sat beside me, and I curled up in his lap and yawned. "My sweet, sleepy boy. Let's get you tucked in. Which bear do you want to sleep with?"

"Lucky, but can you put his Spidey shirt on, so he matches my PJs?"

"I absolutely can." I watched as Daddy got Lucky ready then handed him to me. "Now, let's go get Daddy's Songbird ready."

I made kissy faces at Daddy so he leaned over and kissed me.

"I love you, Daddy."

"I love you, too, my little songbird."

"Daddy's little songbird, Daddy's little songbird," I sang as I skipped into our bedroom .

Daddy took my shirt and shorts off. "Songbird, were you serious when you said you were gonna marry Daddy?"

"Yup."

"And when did you want to do that?"

"When you ask me."

"Cheeky Songbird," Daddy tsked. "May I ask where this wedding will take place?"

"Disneyland!" I threw my hands in the air and cheered.

"Lord, help us all."
