5. Ally

Luke strode out of the diner with her keys, not seeing her tongue stick out at him this time as he left. She couldn't figure out what it was about him that made her obey instead of telling him to kick rocks. He couldn't spank her. She could have his badge if he even tried. Yet whenever he threatened her, she gave in and obeyed. It irritated her.

She'd never admit openly to a single soul that she had touched herself before she went to bed the previous night, fantasizing about him taking her over his knee and spanking her. She had read all those books about Doms and Daddy Doms and she found the stories incredibly hot. But she had never had a man talk to her the way Luke had talked to her. He talked like so many of the Daddies in the books and she found it extremely intriguing.

His threats did something to her insides that she couldn't describe, and her body hadn't stopped reacting since he first pulled up to the sidewalk. When he had called her little girl, it made her pussy react. The dampness in her panties would have given her away if she tried to deny it.

She loved the Daddy Dom books most. Daddies who took care of their Littles and disciplined them when they were naughty. Somehow, despite his gruffness at times, she could picture Luke as a Daddy Dom. A really stern Daddy Dom for sure.

Realizing a table was waiting for her to bring them their check, Ally snapped out of her daydream and went about her job. She shouldn't be daydreaming about Luke anyway. He would never want her or find her attractive. A man that hot didn't want a broke girl who slept with stuffed animals and had a pacifier hidden inside her nightstand. But he did say she had a cute bottom, so maybe he didn't mind that she wasn't thin.

Luke came back into the diner after a long while, snow covering the bill of the baseball hat that had the sheriff badge embroidered on it. She liked him with that hat on, but he looked just as hot without it.

"Here are your keys. Your alternator is dead. I spoke with the auto supply store, and they don't have one in for your car. It will take a couple days to get here. I have one ordered," he told her.

Ally had no idea what an alternator was or how much it cost, but she knew her bank account couldn't afford anything major at the moment.

"How much is that?"

"I already took care of it, Ally. I will drive you to and from work for the next few days and we will leave your car parked here until the tow truck comes to tow it to the mechanic," he answered, leaving no room for argument.

Unsure if she actually could pay for it, Ally pulled out her checkbook from her purse anyway. "But I need to pay you for it. I can make payments if I need to."

His face turned into a full-on scowl as he looked down at her.

"Little girl, it isn't up for discussion. I took care of it. I'll be back at seven to pick you up and take you home. Do not even think about trying to walk home."

Sheesh! Bossy much?

When she nodded, he smiled and picked up the fresh coffee cup she'd refilled for him before leaving the diner.

Ally's thoughts were jumbled all day. She tried to focus on her customers, but her mind was on Luke. He was such a confusing man. One minute he was threatening to spank her and the next he was doing sweet things for her. She didn't understand it.

When he showed up five minutes before seven, she had a feeling it was to ensure she didn't try to go walking home in the snow. Not that she would have. She had a feeling if she even stepped a foot outside and toward her house, he would make another threat to spank her or read her the riot act.

She had wondered if he might actually be a Daddy or if he just enjoyed threatening women into obeying his orders. He didn't seem like someone who would threaten to spank just anyone. Several older women in the restaurant had commented about what a sweet man he was after he had left earlier in the day. She guessed those women hadn't seen his demanding grumpy side that she had witnessed the night before.

When they closed themselves into the SUV, Luke turned on both of the heated seats.

"How was your day?" he asked.

"It was good. Yours?"

They made small talk on the way to her house. She told him different facts about the town and when he asked if she had family that lived in town, she shook her head, swallowing the lump forming in her throat.

"My parents died several years ago and I'm an only child."

He studied her as though he wanted to ask more but didn't push the subject. She was thankful for that as she still struggled to talk about her parents. Whenever people in town mentioned how much she looked like her mom or talked about her parents in some way, it was difficult to hold back the tears. Most of them had realized she didn't want to talk about it and rarely brought them up in conversation anymore.

"I'm sorry to hear that, little one. It appears you have a lot of people around here who really care for you from the looks of what I saw in the diner."

Ally smiled but didn't respond. She knew she would start crying if she said another word right then.

When they arrived in her driveway, he told her he would pick her up the next day to take her to work.

"Ally."

Looking over at him questioningly before climbing out of the warm SUV, he studied her briefly, something flickering in his eyes.

"Put your phone on the charger before bed and lock the deadbolt when you get inside. Also, leave a lamp on and the porch light on when I pick you up tomorrow."

Ally nodded. His brow furrowed toward her, and she realized he didn't like it when she didn't respond to his demands with words.

She rolled her eyes away from him.

"Okayyyyyah," she answered, smiling mischievously at him.

He chuckled. She liked when he chuckled. It was low and warm. She wanted to hear more of that sound from him.

"Sweet dreams, little girl."
