Epilogue

ALLY

Four months had passed since Ally's first Christmas with Luke. Those four months had been the best time of her life. Luke treated her like a princess. She had been diapered nearly all the time since she had become his baby and she had actually started to love wearing them. There were times she still got embarrassed, but she knew she was safe with Luke.

After the new year, Ally went back to work, though Luke told her she didn't have to work if she didn't want to. She refused his offer and still worked about thirty hours a week, but had begun thinking about what else she might want to do with her life. Meanwhile, he sent her off to work each day in a pull-up.

Melissa and her boyfriend, Mike, had finally been caught and arrested. Ally was relieved knowing she wouldn't have to deal with that crazy lady again. At least, not for a very long time.

Luke's friend, Kane, had moved to town. He moved in on Huckleberry Road as well, several properties away from theirs. He was kind and friendly toward Ally, though she still felt a little shy around him. He was handsome, like her Daddy, tall and muscular with silver flecks at his temples as well. He was broader than Luke, but a couple inches shorter. She could see why they were such good friends. Their personalities were so similar.

Kane was about as gruff as Luke had been when she'd first met him. Okay, maybe not as gruff. Maybe quiet and observing was more the correct term for Kane. He always seemed to be alert and aware of the surroundings. Luke had told her he'd served in the Marines for many years in their special forces before he'd become a detective, which made sense because he always seemed on high alert and ready to take on anything. She guessed that's what made him so good at his job.

She had been mortified one day when Kane showed up and Luke let him in while she was playing in her nursery in just a diaper and t-shirt. She had come out of the nursery to find Luke, and she dropped her dolly when she saw the two men standing in the living room. Kane saw her before she could hide. He just smiled at her and nodded. It was so embarrassing, though it didn't even seem to faze him.

Luke held his hand out for her to come to him and she went, her entire body blushing. Luke reassured her that it was okay to be Little around Kane and reminded her that Kane was also a Daddy and used to Littles toddling around in their diapers. It was still so embarrassing, but she trusted Luke and knew he would never bring her around anyone who wasn't accepting of their lifestyle.

Ally's best friend, Haylee, had been in touch with her more. Haylee had moved to a larger city for college and stayed there after she graduated. She had met a man at a job she'd been interning at and fell in love. Or so she thought. From the texts Ally had been getting from her lately, it sounded like she was unhappy and considering moving home.

Although she wanted Haylee to be happy, she secretly hoped her best friend would move back. She missed her and missed having someone to have girls' nights with, even if it was just watching chick flicks and eating candy together.

She had told Luke about Haylee and he was happy to learn that Ally had a female friend to talk to, even if it was only over texts and phone calls. Haylee was thrilled when Ally told her about Luke. She had known everything Ally went through after her parents passed and had worried about her. Haylee was a good friend; she always had been. She just wished she hadn't moved so far away.

One evening, when Kane was over for dinner, Ally received a call from Haylee. She was crying and hysterical. It scared Ally to hear her friend so upset. Luke told her to put the phone on speaker so he could hear what was going on since it was obvious her friend was in distress.

"Haylee, I'm putting you on speaker. Luke's here, what's wrong?"

"I had to get out of there, Ally. I don't know where I'm going to go!"

They could hear traffic in the background and knew she was driving.

"What happened?" Ally asked, her hands shaking.

A sob escaped her friend. "He beat me up. Really bad this time."

Tears welled in Ally's eyes as she looked up at Luke. This time? Had she been beat up before? She never said anything to Ally. Luke balled his fists, and she could see he was trying to control his temper as his eyes met Kane's. Looking up at them, she saw the fury on Kane's expression and shivered from head to toe. He looked as though he was ready to go to war. Ally couldn't tell for sure, but the two men seemed to be silently communicating with each other. Kane nodded silently, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Haylee, honey, this is Luke. My friend, Kane, is here, too. You just get yourself here and we'll take care of you. He will never hurt you again."

Kane spoke, his voice cold and harsh. "We will never let him hurt you again."
