H e knew it would happen. He knew better than to expect anything different. But love could do crazy things.

Sunday, his wildflower.

Darius rubs the tattoo across his chest as he takes off on the motorcycle. After her tenth death, they realized that she couldn't make it past today, Axel and Tripp's birthday. Now on every timeline since, he gets the date tattooed over his chest as a reminder. After her twenty-second death, he added the wildflowers to it. The pain of his brother and Auggie's death felt further and further away, but hers was always a storm cloud over their heads.

Why were they forced to always remember and yet she always forgot? Was it because she was the one dying? Her wish was being fulfilled, but theirs wasn't? The opposing wishes forcing them into this endless loop?

He didn't understand it, but it didn't change anything.

Usually they had a plan, track her phone, use a past timeline, or follow the clues. But then they never made it to her in time. That wouldn't be the case with this timeline.

Darius is determined to go off script.

The gun in his jeans presses against him as he leans on the motorcycle.

He's nearly there. He will make it.
