130. Epilogue
TWO YEARS AND EIGHT MONTHS LATER…
KIARA
"Can someone put the tinsel on the stair rail?!" Raihana shouted.
I looked over at her, the eighteen-year-old was not impressed with getting the décor done. Maria had decided we would go away for Christmas, and since it was the holidays, Rafael had decided against bringing any of the Omegas to work. It was a time to spend with family, he had put it, and I agreed. So here we were, doing it all ourselves.
Not that I minded, I loved all of it.
As werewolves, our main goddess was Selene, but outside of that, we still liked to participate in certain celebrations of other gods and religions. Christmas was not one to miss. After all, who wouldn't mind some festive feelings.
"I will, Raihana, relax." I told the younger woman as I reached up to the ceiling from my ladder to finish setting the fairy lights.
She had come of age and the next mating ball, there was a chance she may find her mate. Or as her father was praying, hopefully not until she was twenty-one. She was currently studying, he wanted her to finish her studies before finding a mate and possibly getting pregnant.
"You need to slow down, Amore Mio." A husky voice that belonged to my one and only came from behind me.
"I thought you like it fast." I replied through the link.
"Oh, I fucking do." His reply came, as he scooped me up off the ladder and spun me around. I shrieked at the sudden move as I clung to him.
"Baby!" I kissed him despite my pounding heart. "You're going to give me a heart attack!"
"I'm sure I won't… I mean, if you haven't had one with all those orgasms I give you then you're safe..." He replied huskily, a sexy smirk on his lips.
Goddess… Nearly three years had passed, but I swear the way I felt about him never changed… Every day I only seemed to fall deeper and deeper in love with him.
"Uncle Al! Dante isn't listening!" Leo's annoyed voice came.
"You made him babysit?" I frowned, smacking his chest to let me down. As I jumped out of his arms, in turn, he slapped my ass, sending pleasure to my molten core.
He winked at me, biting his lips. Knowing exactly what effect he had on me.
"He's twelve, old enough." He stated, turning to his nephew, who stood there glowering as he held out his arm that was healing, but we didn't miss the bite mark…
"Oh no…" I said, rushing over to heal him.
"That fucker is a vampire, I swear…" Alejandro growled as he walked off to find his son.
Leo smirked.
"Thanks, Aunty Kia, but it's cool, it'll heal." He said, tugging free.
Like always, he never wanted to be healed, saying it would heal naturally and he was man enough to deal with a few bites… Something Dante dealt out very generously.
"Is Rayhan not coming?" Raihana asked her mother, who had just walked out of the kitchen, looking forlorn as she looked at the phone in her hand.
"Nope, he said he needs some downtime travelling before he returns to take up his Alpha duties." Maria sighed.
"It's ok Mom, we saw him when he came for the last festival." Raihana said as she hugged her mom.
"For a few days…" Maria sighed.
"Soon he'll be home for good." I said confidently.
"Yes, and I'm sure he'll come for the mating ball." Raihana agreed.
"It's been three years… and he still hasn't found his mate, you know he's skipped a few mating balls." Maria sighed. As she picked up the box of baubles.
"Alejandro was thirty-four when he found me, some things can't be rushed." I said encouragingly, as I wrapped the tinsel around the stair bannister.
"That's true. But with the tension between… you know it's a scary world." Maria whispered, turning to look at me, her eyes filled with worry. Her fingers were tight on the deep blue metallic bauble she was holding.
I frowned. She wasn't wrong… with every passing season, the hatred and tension between the witches and werewolves in the country had increased tenfold.
Even the coven that was a branch of the main base in Salem had set up many bases across the country. Luckily there weren't many witches as strong as Endora, the only reason things hadn't gotten worse was that Endora had been a hybrid; a part wolf. As well as Alejandro's constant work to keep the other packs in control and refrain from war. Still, witches and werewolves clashed often.
"He is strong. He will manage any witch he comes across." I said confidently as I made my way up the stairs, wrapping the tinsel tightly.
My mind drifted to the Alphas who had left for training. Unlike Rayhan, who visited most holidays. Liam had only come home twice and sadly he didn't even see Raven who had moved to Aunty Angela's pack. To this day, I wasn't sure what happened to make her leave, but she had moved only a few weeks after Liam left.
I was also stunned that Damon hadn't even made his move, but they didn't talk about it, and I was too busy doing my part as queen. I was in contact with all three individually, mainly Raven, but the group chat we once had was silent. No one left it, yet no one talked on it, and that hurt.
Alejandro and I spent some holidays with my family, some with his, and sometimes both of our families together.
Grandma Jessica had passed away over a year ago, it seemed the loss of her mate was not something she was able to recover from. Even though Grandad had been a chosen mate, they had marked each other and had created that bond. The feelings were still strong, even if not as strong as a true bond and she had not been able to survive.
I sighed softly, turning as Dante came running, holding…
"Alejandro!" I growled.
"That fucker"s a thief. Don't blame me." Alejandro's reply came as he snatched the packet of cigarettes from our son.
"You should keep them out of reach then." Marcel remarked as he and Rafael walked in from outside, where they had been setting up the lights, a thin layer of snow covering their coats.
"Exactly." I stated.
Maria simply hid a smile, although she wasn't as scared of Alejandro anymore or didn't dislike him as much, she was still wary. Speaking of Alejandro… his bond with his brother had grown too… He now smacked them both over the head, as Dante hurried up the steps towards me.
His red eyes rimmed with those pretty eyelashes staring intently at me. His mop of black curls fell in front of his eyes. Oh, we was such a cherub.
"Mama! Daddy dumb."
I smiled as Alejandro growled.
"Spoiled brat."
"What did Daddy do?" I asked picking him up. "Did you bite Leo?"
"Bite? No." Dante denied vehemently.
Oh, he understood alright, I could feel the guilt rolling off him. I sighed.
"This father and son…" I walked down the steps, placing him down when Dante tilted his head and patted my stomach.
"Two baby."
My eyes widened as I looked at Alejandro, my heart thudding. We had recently planned to have another one… but… everyone fell silent, and even Leo was listening curiously as Alejandro came over to me, crouching down as he placed his ear next to my stomach. His hands ‘coincidentally' landed on my ass.
No one spoke, everyone's hearts thudding in anticipation.
"Well fuck…"
I looked down at him, my own chest rising and falling heavily.
"Is there…"
"He aint wrong; it"s so fucking faint though… barely catchable... But you are pregnant and there are two." Alejandro said, standing up.
His eyes wide as they met mine, he cupped my face before his lips met mine in a passionate kiss. I could feel his heart racing, as was my own, we kissed deeply before breaking apart.
"Congratulations." Rafael said, grinning in excitement.
"I hope it's a girl!" Raihana said excitedly as everyone congratulated me.
"No way, boys." Alejandro said firmly.
"Baby girls." Dante stated as he tugged at the tinsel.
Everyone fell silent again, and I looked at him. I knew Dante had some aspect of my power as well as his fathers. He still wore the amulet to suppress his aura, but when I took it off, it was clear that it was growing stronger. It wasn't the first time he had predicted something. It awed and terrified me that he seemed so much more advanced than my ability was.
Raihana was the first to shriek in excitement, and Alejandro just looked stunned.
"Well, I guess you two will have another two to attend your wedding." Maria smiled.
We had planned our wedding for next December.
I simply nodded, my stomach fluttering with the nerves wondering if Dante was right, was I carrying two baby girls?
"Ok guys, shall we get back to decorating? Dad can you help?!" Raihana complained, casting me a smile.
"Yes, I think you men need to pull your weight." I added.
"We did do the outside." Marcel stated unhappily.
"You should go sit." Alejandro told me before scooping me up and carrying me to the lounge.
"I'm fine, seriously!"
"You should obey your king." He said, arrogantly.
I rolled my eyes,
"Shouldn't you obey me?"
"No, I should worship you." He replied kissing me softly. Like always he took my breath away.
I didn't argue as he placed me on the sofa and, instead of going to help, he dropped onto the sofa and placed his head in my lap. I smiled as I ran my fingers through his hair. This was a position he loved, one he often took after a long day of work, and one I knew he'd miss when my belly began growing.
"Damn I love the fucking view from here…" He remarked pinching my nipple.
"Ouch!" I gasped, pouting despite the fact that it sent pleasure coursing through me.
I looked down at him, as he smirked back at me. Reaching up, he tangled his hand in my hair.
"This time, I'm going to be by your side, every fucking part of it." He whispered, his face now serious as he tugged me down for a loving, passionate kiss.
I smiled as we parted, my heart warming.
"I know you will." I whispered, just as Dante came toddling in and clambered on top of Alejandro's stomach.
"My mama. Go." His podgy little hands pushing Alejandro's face away.
"That fucker…"
"Daddy pucker."
We both went silent, staring at our adorable little devil. A frown on his juicy little face as he glared at his dad.
"Did he just…?" Alejandro murmured, for once, completely shocked.
"Well… he learned from the best."
I burst out laughing as Dante wrapped his arms around me.
"This kid…" Alejandro chuckled before wrapping one arm around me, the other around Dante as he buried his face against my stomach. "My perfect fucking family…"
He was right, this was our perfect family. My heart combusted with so many emotions as I sat there in his embrace, my fingers threading through his hair, the other around my little boy.
We had gone through so many trials to be together, we have overcome so much, but in the end, it was all worth it. This was worth it.
