A Brief History of ABO Society
The origin of the ABO society is full of gaps and conflicting stories. What we do know for sure is that about a thousand years ago, a devastating epidemic swept through the planet, wiping out all women. Anyone with XX chromosomes didn’t survive.
What happened after that is mostly unclear and surrounded by misinformation. The most popular theory says that an expedition to Europa, one of Jupiter's moons, found hermaphroditic life forms living in its underground ocean. These creatures turned out to be surprisingly compatible with humans genetically, hinting that life on Earth and Europa might have come from the same source in the Solar System.
These beings were intelligent, and in exchange for being left alone, they shared crucial knowledge with the few survivors. This knowledge helped create five hundred hybrid embryos and organic uteruses to carry them. However, the uteruses broke down after giving birth to the five hundred newborns, who were then raised by the remaining men.
These kids became the start of the ABO population, but with such a small gene pool, a genetic bottleneck happened. Over time, much of the population became too genetically similar, leading to more mutations It was then observed that using scent, known as Allure, during the selection of a partner was the most effective way to ensure a good genetic pairing. Still, perfect genetic matches only happened for those later called True Mates, who were the only ones able to have children without any genetic defects.
Other ideas about how the Tri-Subgender Society started exist, but they aren’t as popular. The main reason is that it’s been clearly proven that all ABOs have a noticeable percentage of what’s called ‘alien’ DNA.
