Chapter 9
Blade
My beautiful Hannah, my mate. She was the tightest clasp, the silkiest fit I’d ever experienced. I wanted to stay inside of her forever, to feel her heat, to be connected to her. My pleasure burned through me, aching to burst like a dam, but I forced myself to hold off, to make this last, to give her more .
I was built for this, made for her pleasure, and I wanted her to know that. I wanted her to fall into an exhausted slumber and wake up begging me for me. More than anything, I wanted her to accept my claim so I could fill her with my seed, fill her so she’d grow me big, healthy orclings. Picturing her belly swollen with my child was a mistake, and I roared my pleasure, the seed spurting from my cock in thick waves. She came with me, her tight clasp growing tighter as it milked me for every drop I had.
My Hannah panted, her hand flying to her chest, her eyes sliding shut from that exhaustion I’d imagined. I’d taken her hard, I’d pleasured her, but it wasn’t enough. I wanted to do more. Forcing myself to step back, I went to fetch a warm wet cloth to clean her. She had a secret she did not want to tell me, but I suspected, and that came first over any more bed play.
Once we were both clean, I gathered her tightly against my chest and held her until she’d drifted off completely. I couldn’t fall asleep like she had; my entire body felt wired, energized. A good round of fucking was normally exactly the ticket to deep sleep, but this wasn’t that. This had been so much more to me, and I wanted her to feel the same. I wanted her to feel safe enough to tell me what was happening with her. I wanted her trust.
It was hard to extract myself when I was certain she was in deep sleep; her eyes moving rapidly beneath her eyelids as she dreamed. But I had a call to make, and if I couldn’t sleep, I might as well get on with it. A glance at my communicator told me that Rover would still be up. Likely, he’d be at his desk and working. The workaholic never stopped unless you dragged him away from his office.
The carpet on the floor was soft beneath my feet and muffled my footsteps as I crossed the room and stepped out onto the balcony. I made sure to close the door softly behind me and then breathed deeply as I pulled in the cool night air and let it wash over my naked body. That was enough to clear my head, and I pulled up my brother’s connection with familiar ease. My eyes roved over the woods, searching for any hint of danger, any sign that the overlords and their loyal troops had managed to track us.
“Blade, what do you want?” Rover growled as soon as the call went through. I was not surprised by the cantankerous tone, it instantly made my mouth quirk into a grin. He never changed. No, that wasn’t true. I was worried that he was growing more growly and moody as each year passed. If anyone needed to find their mate, it was him.
“Well, hello to you too, my lovely brother,” I drawled, unable to muffle a chuckle. I was worried about him, and my natural response was to tease and poke him until I made him crack up. That had been getting harder, but I endeavored to keep on trying. He barked out a hello and demanded again what I wanted from him. He didn’t say, “time is money,” but I could hear him think it. “I found that mate you wanted me to have. She’s human, and she needs medical aid.”
My chest ached just saying those last words out loud. I knew I was doing the right thing, but it still felt a little manipulative, a little like a betrayal to arrange for it when she had not told me about her illness yet. If there was one thing I could count on, it was Rover getting onboard in a heartbeat. This was exactly his style, and though he was growing cold and bossy, he only was because he cared so damn much about our clan. Being the clan leader was not an easy job, and I did not envy him the task.
“Consider it done. Is she injured? Where did you find her?” Rover asked and then groaned, and finally, I heard him unbend a little. “You’re going to be even more obnoxious to live with, aren’t you? Please, at least get your own freaking house. I do not want to walk in on the two of you at every hour of the day.”
I laughed, but that was only to mask a pang of worry for my brother. Walk in on us? He’d have to be home for that… And he practically lived at his office these days. “Congratulations, I’m happy for you,” Rover said. “I’ll have our best and brightest on standby.” He disconnected the call immediately after, and I frowned at my communicator. I would have liked to tell him more, to talk about my pretty Hannah, to ask him to prepare some gifts for her when we arrived. A welcoming party…
If I wanted a party, Rover was not the one to ask to organize it, anyway; it would be a complete bore if he was in charge. I grinned, humor restored. Thankfully, I knew exactly who to hit up for that particular venture. Things were moving fast, but that’s how it always was for orcs when they fell in love. I’d tumbled like my Hannah had tumbled from the sky, and I was confident that she felt the same. I would convince her to stay.
With a bounce in my step, I returned to my slumbering female and crawled beneath the sheets. And then, simply because I could not resist her tempting body and her soft, sleepy smile, I endeavored to lick every single inch of her skin.
