stayed close to my mate as the Gias people came and went and buzzed around us with the intent to investigate the ship's technologies. I smelled females. All of them seem to be females, even the ones who wear uniforms that cover their heads and faces.

Battle-ready females, they all wield the power of the gods and the star people's technology. I smelled Darah and Flame, these two females have imprinted on my soul, and I will know their scent anywhere. I sense Flame has recognized Darah and I. She has given me a knowing glance, and I smell her arousal around us.

I needed to adjust and process all this myself. I was still learning about this vast universe. I had come to understand all of this was technology, advanced tools run by machines, and artificial intelligence. I was just trying to grasp the reality of this new world among the stars.

Darah has caught the eye of Flame. I'll follow Darah anywhere. She owns my heart. I can hardly believe that my bond mating will include two females who are more than I could ever be worthy of having.

Flame is formidable and fierce in her own right, based on my first impression. She oversees all the warrior women up here on the port dock.

I like to stand back, watch all these females talk, and make plans. The Andromeda female is being ignored until she can be scanned for worthiness, the chetaht is a dangerous animal, and he clearly doesn't like her.

I like these warrior females, and they impress me. I am glad that Darah has allies who are strong and smart, able to protect her and support my Darah, so I walk silently, just listening. I am always learning as I take in all the new things.

I can tell Darah is embracing the idea of our mate bond. I would love to take her away from all this to do the traditional newly bonded retreat. We could fully enjoy our new union. I was battling my need for her and also my need for Flame. I felt torn between happiness over my fated mates and sadness over my people and home planet.

I was haunted and driven to get my Laverian people freed of the Kanenites. Watching these warriors and seeing the advanced weapons had me eager to save my kind. I was eager to download the galaxtic empire educators as well, I must learn all I could.

Fame glanced my way; her eyes grew sultry just long enough for me to see before she caught herself and looked back on her task. I sensed she was fighting her own instinct to fuck us. "Put the shield in active defense mode and put the armed satellites on full attack sensors." Flame demanded as she rushed from the cargo area to exit our ship and go to her port command center.

This spaceport above the planet was remarkable. With its power grid and weapons ready to protect the planet and surface below. I wish my planet were this protected.

Darah looked at me, a bit nervous, as Candy bolted out of the doors, fully glowing his pastel colors."We need to keep an eye on him, Darah. He is still a wild predator."She doesn't understand the viciousness of the chetaht. Somehow, she tamed him, barely, though, and I will never understand how. I had never heard of this before. I know she has claimed Candy, and so I have claimed him as well, even if he and I understand that we must tolerate each other for Darah's sake."I know Terrek, but I do trust him. Come on, we should check on him. He seemed worked up."We rushed out of cargo and saw Candy attacking the command door, growling, glowing, hissing, and clawing at the metal door." Darah soothed Candy.Darah approached her dash panel to see if anything was messed with. As the door slid open again, and two masked soldiers entered."Flame has requested that we escort all of you to her command center." A stern female voice said through the apparatus covering her face. Her voice sounded robotic."Okay, everyone, let's go see what all the fuss is about, Darah said.Darah held my hand, and we all left the ship. Andromeda stayed feet behind us as Candy kept his tail pointed at her. The warriors took a guard on either side of her. She still has not been deemed worthy. I don't feel bad for the scared female because I don't smell the scent of fear on her."Maybe we should be extremely leery of this stranger female if the beast doesn't like her," I whispered to Darah."Oh, I already am Terrek," Darah said, reassuring me she hadn't fallen for those tears.She squeezed my hand and glanced my way but said nothing as we walked along the nearly deserted port. As we walked, our footsteps seemed to echo with each step.My gut knotted with a feeling of impending doom. Why my anxiety had gripped me all of a sudden, I did not yet know. My instinct was to grab Darah, find Flame, and get them somewhere safe.I would not let Darah out of my sight, not until I know she was safe. Part of me was happy the deadly beast is so attached to my mate. I knew Candy would defend her if we needed to fight.Seeing Flame as we entered her command station calmed my worry about her. At least the two of them were close enough that I could get to both of them if needed. Flame was busy directing her crew, monitors were up, the ceiling was a viewing image of another hologram.I had never seen anything like it in all my life. We were in the outer atmosphere of the Gia's planet. The electric grid that surrounded the planet was now pulsing red. When we arrived, it was like a clear shield that shimmered, almost like a glass window.The grid of satellites that held armed laser cannons sat outside the red pulsing shield surrounding the planet. The war pods were hovering in formation, making their own grid of pilots ready to defend the planet. These females were truly battle skilled.I wished my world could have had a fighting chance. If we had a way of defending ourselves, we would have never been harvested. My mate was wise coming here for allies."How can we help?" Darah asked when Flame finally landed her red eyes in our direction."We discovered that the Kanenites were planning on attacking us since we are the closest galactic defense to their borders. Our star system had never surveyed the outer boundaries of our universe because we weren't aware that it existed. We haven't even discovered the class three planet's Laverian and Tarin yet. If it weren't for you and the Goddess Harmony, we would be ambushed without intel on our new enemy." Flame gave Darah a grateful gaze."Your ship sent a message with a radio wave we are unfamiliar with. it was sent out just minutes before our sensors picked up on the inbound invasion fleet. We are still trying to decipher the message," Flame said.As she turned to address another alarm that beeped on the command monitor.I felt Darah tense as she turned to face Andromeda. Candy's fur glowed as he snarled at Andromeda."Did you send the Kanenites a message? Is that why you were in my command center?" Darah asked in a low, calm tone.The scared female backed up until she hit the wall, her hands out in a plea."No, I wouldn't know how. They kidnapped me. I have no reason to send them anything. Surrounding the Gias planet with its own formation that matched the defense setup of Gias. Battle lines were drawn and ready. My heart pounded, and fear crept in as I realized the Kanenites were incoming."Whatever happens, stay next to me, Darah. I love you. If this is the day I die, I will die fighting for you." On instinct, I stood before Darah and looked up at the viewing display on the ceiling.The space laser cannons lit up the darkness of space. Firing at the enemy, the first of the Kanenites war pods exploded, but a few cleared the lasers and hit the red pulsing shield surrounding the planet.I saw Flame standing confident and giving orders. I fought my need to collect her and shield both of my females. The Kanenites war pods that encountered the planet's shield bounced back into space with a blanket of electrical lightning, suffocating the entire war pod for a few moments until the pod imploded. The display of lights and colors was eerily beautiful. The lightning flew back into the protective shield, and the first strike terminated the invaders."They are testing our defenses." I have already requested assistance from our patrol fleet, which is inbound now. These fools are about to get their asses handed to them by our Galaxtic enforcers." Flame said with a grin, showcasing her broad white teeth where two dainty fangs popped out suddenly.If these two beautiful females aren't the death of me, I will be surprised. One warship was being towed to port for interrogation.Cloaked Galactic enforcers were tracking the retreating Kanenites to spy and collect intel.I pulled Darah in for a hug and kissed her head."Mate, I am so thankful I have you," I whispered. Feeling very relieved that this battle was over for the time being.We both kissed and focused on Flame, silently watching her work.I wondered at that moment if Darah finally realized what Flame was to us.
