Chapter 77

Jack

I moaned as I orgasmed into Juno again, her body over me, riding me hard. She seemed to shudder in her own pleasure a moment later, the two of us coming down together, panting but sated.

If I'd thought being with Juno would feel good and allow us to enjoy each other's company, I had totally underestimated how good it would feel to have her here and doing as I asked.

She was trying hard to give me what I wanted and let go of her fears, that much was clear, but I was still wary of her anxiety. And although I was putting a brave face on, the storm was making me nervous, too.

Naturally, the island was hit by tropical storms now and then, but this one was picking up in strength, and the warnings were updating frequently.

"Relax and listen to the music," I told Juno as I moved her to one side of me. "I'm going to get us some lunch."

"Lunch sounds good," she replied, turning her large doe-like eyes up at me.

Inside me, something melted. I wanted to protect her and devour her all at the same time. Instead, I walked away, taking the opportunity to check the latest weather update and my messages and see what was going on generally.

I had several messages from the band and the housekeeper, and the weather forecast had gotten worse over the last hour or so. We were now expecting a full-on tropical storm, and the boat had only just made it to the main island in time for the band and staff to get safe.

The skipper offered to try and come back for us and then sail ahead of the storm to a larger island, but I hadn't seen the message in time. It was already too late to do that safely. I declined and quickly went to the kitchen to fix a quick lunch.

We still had at least an hour before I'd need to take Juno down to the shelter if it was truly going to be so bad. I just needed to keep an eye on it.

While I made us some sandwiches and grabbed some fruit and drinks to go with them, I listened to the wind. I couldn't remember it ever being so loud while I'd been on the island before, but I usually tried to avoid being here during major storms.

Sometimes, however, life had other plans.

When I returned to Juno, I found her sitting up, her arms around herself and a wide-eyed look on her face. Even in the back part of the house, it was getting loud.

"I think a tree must have fallen somewhere," she said as she looked at me. "There was a cracking sound and a thwump off to the right somewhere."

I frowned and handed her a plate of food. It definitely sounded like we might need the storm shelter.

"Do you have anything you don't want to get broken or destroyed?" I asked her.

With even wider eyes, she looked up at me, her mind going elsewhere as she tried to think.

"I've got some notebooks with ideas and things, and I don't have a backup laptop," she said.

"Okay, go get them quickly. Put them in something waterproof and bring them back here."

She gulped but set her plate down and did as she was asked. I thought for a moment and then went to fetch a few items of my own. I also made sure we had our phones, chargers, and some flashlights.

There were emergency supplies in the shelter as well, but it was always good to be cautious. And there was no harm in heading there earlier than I thought necessary and finding we could come out again without a problem only a couple of hours later. It was better for us to be careful.

It didn't take me long to gather what I needed, getting an update on the weather and from the mainland before I rejoined Juno. She was shivering, but she'd also put her clothes back on.

Although I hadn't officially said that was okay, I didn't say anything then and there and merely guided her to the shelter down in the basement of the house. It wasn't a very large space, given the number of people I could house on the island in total, but it would be more than enough for the two of us.

Juno plopped herself down on the edge of a camp bed, and after stowing the supplies and checking the batteries and food supplies, I joined her.

"It'll be okay," I said as I hugged her a moment. "We're safe down here and the house is sturdy. Chances are we'll be going back upstairs again in only a few hours.

She nodded, but I could tell she wasn't convinced.

I had no choice but to leave her for a few minutes, anyway. There were still a few checks I had to make and parts of the house I needed to try and secure before we hunkered down together to wait.

"I'll be back as soon as I can. Stay here no matter what, okay?"

I saw her take several deep breaths, her eyes wide, but she appeared to hold herself together and continued to sit where she was. Every part of me wanted to sweep her in my arms and promise her we'd be safe, but I knew I couldn't.

Leaving her behind with far more reluctance than I'd experienced in a long time, I made my way to the main floor again, checked the backup generator, and made sure the grill had been returned to the storage shed and nothing else was loose.

The wind was blowing so strongly that I couldn't stray far from the house. Debris from the trees was already blowing around.

The waves were also getting higher, but the house was built on the highest section of the island, and the storm shelter in the basement had water pumps. It also had masks and air tanks for the worst-case scenario. It wasn't perfect, but it was as likely to keep us alive as any other option.

After checking all the doors were locked and bolted, their frames sturdy, I went around dropping all the shutters over the windows and making sure they were secure as well.

It took so long that the wind was even stronger by the time I was done, and I was more than a little grateful to be back inside with Juno again. The look of relief on her face as she saw me again was almost heartbreaking.

I went to her and wrapped my arms around her, feeling her tremble. She'd been scared. So beyond scared I felt like a monster for leaving her.

"Is everything secure?" she asked, making it obvious she was worried I'd leave her again.

"All secure," I replied. "And I'll stay down here with you until it's calmer out there again, okay?"

She nodded, and I felt her relax against me a little.

I guided her back over to the camp bed and kept her close as we sat together. Down here, it didn't sound as bad as it had on the floor above, but I knew how bad it had gotten before I came down, and it was clear Juno had enough of an imagination to fill in the gaps in her knowledge.

Over the next few minutes, I held her close, slowly rubbing a hand down her back, anything to soothe her a little. She leaned into me, and we waited for the storm to do whatever it was going to do.

"We shouldn't just sit here," she said a moment later. "We should do something to take our minds off it."

I looked at her again, and I was pretty sure she was asking if I had something in mind.

Not sure what else to do, I kissed her. I wanted her body close to mine, wanted to make her feel good and screw her hard. Not because I was turned on but because I wanted her to feel like she was mine and I could keep her safe and cared for. I wanted to pleasure her and make her forget her fears.
