Watching Shilah,I'm so surprised at how much he means to me. I love the huge beast. Since I started to take him with me to work, I feel peace. The only time he's not by my side is when Abigale and I go to bed. That's our time and I don't want him to ever get jealous, not sure how he'd react, don't want to find out. He's also helped me with all of my internal issues. Between Shilah and Abigale my life has totally changed for the good. I'm almost done with the occupational therapy, and from what my physical therapist explained to me, when I'm done, I can continue on for as long as the insurance covers it. That's a choice I'll make when the time comes. Right now I'm beyond happy how my life is turning out.
I'm heading home and am curious as to what Abigale has decided to do to help Benj. I knew months ago he was gay. One night we were working on finding one of our newbies, who went into town and disappeared. When I found the big Black guy in the alley, I questioned him about our newbie and he said he hadn't seen a thing, though he was being serviced. I thought a woman but right before my eyes a head appeared, then a face I recognized, though I didn't show it. Later the next day Benj asked to meet up with me. When I got there, he bared his soul to me. I feel so bad for him but as the saying goes, "If you love them let them go, if they come back that's real love." It's gonna be up to Benj to find himself and where he fits in this world. All I can ask for is that he doesn't bring any trouble to Abigale if he can help it. She's had enough, though we have his back no matter what.
Pulling up the driveway, I see Abigale is working in the chicken coop. And as much as I love those fresh eggs in the morning, their coop seems to cause me headaches along with head pain. I can only pray Benj takes the job so Abigale and I can concentrate on us spending some time together without the chicken coop coming up. After I park and get out of my truck, I make my way down to the coop to hear Abigale talking to the chickens about how bad she feels for Benj. She relays to her feather friends that people need to mind their business and let everyone live their best life and love who they want to love. When one of the chicken's clucks, Abigale giggles and tells the chicken, "Totally, sistah I agree."
This makes me laugh and Abigale turns around until she sees me. Her face turns a beautiful shade of pink. She's so cute when she blushes. I figure now's as good of a time as any other.
"Woman, need a moment of your time. Yeah, right now. I've been wanting to say this to you forever, but was trying to find the perfect time. It hit me today that there is nothing I won't do for you. So need to know if you have a problem with me moving my stuff in here. I mean, most of it is here already. Abigale, you rescued me from myself and I needed you to hear that. I'm in love with you, gorgeous. Want to be with you all the time."
She looks at me with tears in her eyes. My initial reaction is that she doesn't feel the same, but the sparkle in her eyes tells me exactly what I need to know. Then she finishes it off.
"Grey, I love you and, yes, please move your stuff here. What we have, gotta make sure we seize each and every moment together. Nothing is ever guaranteed. I'm blessed that you found your way to me. So yes, please, move in with me."
When I pull her close, I feel her hands going up my arms. She rescued me, now it's my turn to rescue her and give her everything she deserves, though I'm the biggest winner of all. I get to spend my life with her. Well, her, lil' Fern, Shilah, and the six other wolves that have taken up residence in the pole barn that we now have renamed to Wolves' Haven. These wolves are like me, Abigale changed their lives too. Feeling her soft lips under mine, my mind blanks as I sink into my future which is now bright and filled with the love of a good woman.
