8. Peyton

"You weren't kidding when you said it was a small place." I look at Fox's place. The lot is a decent size, but there's virtually no house, it's basically a six hundred square foot studio.

"Yeah, but he's sitting on a gold mine, and he got it for a steal. I'm kind of jealous that I didn't get the lead on this place. A vacation home to come down here and get away. It'd be the perfect place. Rent it out when we're not down here." Last night, we talked, and I mean we really talked. Chance opened up about what happened that day. How Fox was really affected by being injured, how his career in the Navy Seals was over. He knew it the minute he woke up in Germany. The way his leg was immobilized, the scar running from his thigh down to his knee. Not only did he break his leg, he also had to have his knee replaced, at the age of thirty-seven.

I could see the ache in Chance's face for his brother, though looking at this place and how peaceful it is on the beach, he must be doing decent for himself after his shortened career and retiring from the Seals. Sure, the house needs help, but the piece of property it's sitting on must have cost a lot.

"It couldn't have been that much of a steal. It's oceanfront property." Fox, still isn't here. So, I'm walking around with Chance while he shoots out measurements and I jot them down on the iPad.

"Babe, he got this for two hundred and fifty thousand. You couldn't find this anywhere on the beach for this price in Virginia." I look up at him. A smile is playing on his lips. Chance is probably scheming something, judging from that look.

"You sure couldn't, but really, that price? I could probably afford something like this on my own as a second home. Of course, I'd have to tell the bank it would be a rental to make it stick. But dang, this is nice. No wonder Fox wants you to look at this and cultivate his dream."

"Who knows, maybe one day, we can have a dream of our own like this. A place to sneak away, a couple of kids running around the beach, maybe you're pregnant again." He winks. Chance knows about my dreams of a big family. Heck, it was one of those talks we had in the wee hours of the morning when we got up to watch the sunrise. Though, no matter how much coaxing I did, Chance still wouldn't slide inside me. Even when I straddled his lap, my hand wrapping around his length, he eased me off him and proceeded to wring another orgasm from me.

"Pretty sure if you want that to happen, we'd actually need to have sex," I smart back.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, there are certain things I do not want to hear about when it comes to my younger brother. But seriously, Chance? Your woman wants you, and you're holding out? Who does that?" Fox walks around the house. Of course, that's not his real name, but that's what he's been called for as long as anyone can remember. It especially stuck when he went into the service.

"I was just teasing. It's good to see you." I step into his arms for a hug but hear Chance grumble under his breath, "Hands off."

"You, hush. He's your brother. I'm with you, grumpy pants." This causes Fox to laugh, and I know I need to move back towards Chance before he takes it out on me in the form of multiple orgasms without a break.

"Just making sure he knows who you belong to." Chance's arm wraps around my shoulder, squeezing me into the crook of his body. I transfer the iPad into my other hand so I can place my palm on his heart. Letting him know exactly how I feel about him.

"I think the whole world knows, baby brother. You might as well piss around her, staking your claim."

"Whatever. Let's get this show on the road. You're messing with my vacation time." Chance groans. I move away, getting ready to take notes. They do that man hug type thing then walk ahead of me, Chance looking over his shoulder to wink at me. Other than that, it's a whirlwind of ideas that Fox wants for his place, his budget, and the projection of how long it'll take.

When Chance gives Fox the details, he's not impressed. "That long? Can't we speed it up? I'd like this place ready for spring break. We're getting a team together to have a beach volleyball tournament here, and then a few in Florida throughout the year."

"Unless I can somehow swing it to where you have a construction company work down here and I come down once a month to see where they're at, but that's going to be a lot of work for you too. I mean, you'll have to check on the crew daily." I'm already trying to figure out if that's even feasible with Chance's schedule.

"Yeah, that sounds like something I'll really stay on top of. Not with the shop just opening up." His sarcasm shows while he runs his fingers through his hair in frustration.

"I've been kicking up an idea, but I'd have to really look at the financials and talk to Peyton about it. Right now, I could come down on a Friday and leave Sunday evening. Right, Peyton?" Chance asks me.

"Let me look." I turn around to let them have their chat and look at Chance's calendar. He's got a couple of projects coming up in the spring, but I'm pretty sure our crew in Virginia can handle it, even if we hire a few more guys.

"What's it looking like?" Chance walks towards me. Fox isn't around. I'm not sure where he went, but maybe he needed to take a breather. If he has to manage this and his new shop, it might be too much.

"I think you can do it. Of course, we still need to hire a couple of people for spring. It'll mean you not having a weekend off once a month, and that's also baseball season." I know how much Chance enjoys watching spring training to see how everyone is doing, not to mention college baseball.

"I'll have to watch it while I'm down here. Can you get away once a month? I won't do this unless I know you're with me."

"You're serious, aren't you?" I question. He didn't miss a beat with that question.

"It's you and me, Peyton. Of course, I'm serious." Chance takes my iPad out of my hand, tossing it on the lounge chair Fox has set up on the sand.

"I'm sure I can get away, but you know my parents, they'll want to know. Well, let's be honest, it's Bridger. He'll be up in our business like nobody else, and my sisters, and Berkley. You get the picture. My family is one big party." I roll my eyes, but I'm happy too. They care, I know that, even if it's too much at times.

"Baby, if you think I haven't already talked to Bridger, you're the crazy one. I won't even begin to tell you what that fucker had to say." He cocks his head while dipping down to graze my lips.

When we pull a part, Fox is clearing his throat and saying, "I'm guessing we're sealing the deal?"

"Yeah, brother. We are." Chance doesn't take his eyes off mine though. It's as if he's telling me that only we exist.

"Right on. Well, let's go get a few beers, go over the numbers, and eat." Fox looks at his watch. My stomach growls at the thought of food, reminding me that breakfast was hours ago.

"I need to get her fed. A hungry Peyton is not something anyone needs to see." I smack his lower stomach, not that it does much with how firm he is.

"That's not very nice. I am ready for a margarita though." I shrug my shoulders when they both look at me. "What? It's a vacation. Drinking at eleven o'clock in the morning is normal. You're lucky. If the girls were here, we would have started off with mimosas or bloody Mary's."

"Sounds like if you all get together, Chance here may reap the benefits. Though, if he has to cart four drunk women home, well, I don't envy that," Fox retorts. Chance shakes his head but grabs my things, and we follow after his brother walking towards some place that has the best food in town, even if it's a hole in the wall.
