Epilogue

Being a goddess had its benefits—onceI cleaned up my world and restored its first city along with its original name. Time to put Nullarcana and its atrocities in the past. Atlantis would dazzle with its beauty and innovation.

My new life involved a gorgeous castle by the sea, delicious food, no housework, and a closet that put my old one to shame. But all of that paled in comparison to the man sleeping in my bed.

My lover.

My god.

The stealer of dogs.

"Traitor," I muttered, eyeballing my furball cuddled on his chest.

Jinx had taken to following Typhon around with adoring eyes while, at the same time, being the perfect guard dog. No one could come near Typhon without my dog noticing and losing her shit. It didn't help that the first time someone tried to kick my dog—and died for it—Typhon had given the little brat the ability to transform from tiny lap puppy to giant, slavering, hairy, muscle-bound, saber-toothed hell-Pomeranian. Sounded funny until you got mauled by three hundred pounds of cuteness.

Still, it was hard to be too angry. After all, I did love the man, so I could totally understand.

For those wondering, Jinx had her litter of puppies not long after our reunion, and despite me wanting to keep them all, Jinx actually chose to give the three away once she weaned them. My sisters and mom each got one of the ugly mutts. Remember how I said my dog could transform? Yeah, her puppies came that way permanently. They started out small, but six months later, they were utterly terrifying—and adorable. They loved their auntie Dina, as Typhon always knew how to get the biggest and best meaty bones for me to spoil them with.

Speaking of the furballs, I'd be seeing them tonight when they came to dinner. I wasn't the only one who chose to not return to Earth. As the new Oracle, Frieda found herself in too much demand and had asked to come live on one of my islands. I gave her a lovely one with a castle still being renovated on a bluff. My sister Enyo bounced between our places when she wasn't off with Bane, fighting other gods' wars.

My mom and Bacchus did return to Earth but visited often, our parents rekindling their love affair. Gross.

They were coming for dinner too.

"I don't suppose you want to come back to bed?" Typhon lounged, naked and tempting.

"And shower again? I just did my hair."

He arched a brow. "By snapping your fingers."

My lips curved. "Better than any hair straightener by far. Get your lazy god-monster butt moving. They're bringing the puppies."

"I swear, you love those dogs more than me," he grumbled.

"I do. Get over it."

I deserved the sudden slap on my ass and laughed. I did that often with him. He kept me balanced. And happy.

We were late to dinner because I did end up pouncing him one more time and had to do my hair again.

My sisters and mom were already gathered on the terrace, their giant puppies lying at their feet until they saw me.

Typhon grumbled as they bowled me over, as if the traitor had reason to complain, given he carried my dog tucked under his arm.

When I finally rose from the mess of furry bodies, I hugged my family. All together for the first time in what seemed like ages—a.k.a. two weeks. Used to be we couldn't go a few days. At times, I missed it.

As we prepared to sit, a sudden darkness fell. A glance overhead showed the two moons of Atlantis crossing over the sun. An eclipse. The first since I'd arrived and why I'd wanted a family dinner.

The shadow bands danced and tickled our skin. My stomach wrenched.

Blerg.

The triple projectile vomiting took everyone by surprise.

A good thing I had magic to clean us up quickly. Then I apologized. "Sorry about that. It must have been something I ate at lunch." And everyone knew if someone puked, everyone followed.

Frieda shook her head. "That wasn't bad seafood. Take another guess."

It took my husband shouting, "All hail the mother of monsters!" for me to smarten up.

"Holy shit," I gasped. "I'm pregnant." I glanced at my sisters. "We all are."

We eyed our bellies then each other.

"Did you see this?" I asked Frieda.

She offered a half-smile. "I see all kinds of things."

"Like?"

"A future of vast possibilities for the children of the Grae sisters."

And many adventures ahead.

Thus ends the epic adventure. I hope you enjoyed this series inspired by art. Once I saw the covers, I couldn't resist and had to write their story. Until we meet again in the pages of a book.
