Extra Scene Jude’s POV

Did you wonder what happened to Jude when he disappeared after Dante pretended to be him with Genevieve in his alcove? This is what happened in his point of view after he left her in his home.

Red. Red. Red. Blood pounded through my veins, pushing me over the edge. That fuck had his mouth on her skin, her lips. When I find him, I will crush him into nothing with my bare hands.

He marked her. That mother fucker!

No matter. She will never be his. Never. I will cast my soul into oblivion and him with me before I let that happen.

Her lips were swollen from more than one kiss. She thought it was me. How much had she given to him before the asshole revealed himself? Her mouth, parted, wanting.

Oh, Genevieve. The danger you're in. Hell and damnation.

Black clouded everything. I couldn't cage the rage.

I sifted to his gates and roared my arrival, the black castle looming in the gray haze. Pointed turrets stabbed upward into the constant night of this place. Gleaming yellow eyes of watchmen stood on the battlements.

"Where is he!" My voice shook the crumbling wall surrounding his castle.

Cassius dangled gaunt, skeletal limbs from his perch. He sat twenty yards up the precipice of black-rock facing beside the iron spires of the gate pointing into the gloom.

"Now, now, Master of Demons. He is not at home at the moment. And you know you are not allowed here. So take your little temper-tantrum and just be on your way."

My black glare made Cassius draw up his bony feet in case my wrath was turned on him. The spindly red spiders that kept him company crawled somewhere in his ribcage and an opening at his throat, hiding from the likes of me. Good.

"I want that fuck in front of me. Now!"

"We all want lots of things, Demon Hunter. I would like to be free of my perch. I've paid the price for my sins for long enough," he said, eyes glowing white, "but I can't have what I want. Just as you will not have what you want."

I laughed, feeling the rage slip just a little.

"I will have what I want. Soon enough. Here's a gift for your Lord and Master, Cassius."

I grabbed two bars of the gate, ignoring the searing pain of its touch, wrenching the entire left side from its hinges. I bent each spire inward upon itself, releasing the fury through the stabbing pain, until I finally held a mangled ball of black iron.

"You'd better stop, Demon Hunter!"

Cassius stood now on the edge of his precipice, pointing and shaking a gray, bony finger. I stared at the pathetic creature, grinning.

"Tell Goldie Locks to stop hiding and come out to play."

I launched the ball of unnatural metal. It arced and smashed into the wooden Gothic door, splintering the black facing, leaving a gash a foot wide and deep. Cassius' shrieked.

I gave him a withering glare then sifted through time and space until the smothering black cracked and diminished. I could not go back to Genevieve with death on my mind, fury in my heart, and violent desire pumping furiously through my blood.
