Chapter 21

May

JAXON

Mom’s been home for a few weeks. She’s doing really well, and it sets my mind at ease. It’s one less thing I’ll need to worry about when I go on tour. Aria on the other hand, I’m not so sure. After her little episode with Macy, she’s been too quiet. Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but I think she’s itching to get back to work. Working from home was great in the beginning, but the newness has worn off. She’s supposed to come over for dinner, so I’m going to try coaxing it out of her. It won’t be with a coffee pod. I threw those damn things away. She admitted she bought them by mistake and ran out of her regular coffee.

Now that we’re two months out from going on tour, we’ve been doing a ton of public relations. Interviews, guest appearances, and we’re scheduled for two music videos. All in the next few months. And we need to fit in some practice time as well. Zander loves to jam for a few hours a day when we can to perfect the new songs and revisit the old.

Oh, and Harmony is supposed to help us with our album cover again. It was a no-brainer since she did an amazing job last time. I’m exhausted just thinking about everything we need to do. And I’d love to spend more time with my girl before leaving.

I made lasagna earlier in the day, so all I need to do is pop it in the oven so it’s ready when she gets here. Then I’ll put the garlic bread in the oven as soon as she walks in. Aria’s bringing a salad because I hate washing, chopping, and tossing the damn thing together. I’d just buy the bagged variety and call it a day. Dessert is already covered since Mom sent over some brownies. She’s bored since coming home, so she’s been baking up a storm. I’m not complaining.

Ten minutes later, the lasagna’s baking, the table’s set, and the wine is chilling, so I kick back and check my text messages. When I notice the date on my phone, I smile. Today marks four months since I asked Aria to marry me. It might have been fake back then, but it’s not fake anymore. We are a legit couple, and I can’t wait until the day she becomes my wife. If it were up to me, I’d elope tomorrow. Of course if we did that, our parents would kill us. That would def put a damper on the honeymoon.

The second the doorbell rings, I jump up to open the door. “Hope you don’t mind, but I’m here early.” What kind of crazy question is that?

“Baby, if I had my way you’d never leave. Maybe I should slap those cuffs on you and chain you to my bed. How’s that sound?” I don’t give her a chance to answer by claiming her mouth.

I’m instantly hard when her hands land on my chest. Until those hands send me flying. “It’s the twenty-first century and no one is chaining me to any bed.” O-kay.

“It was a joke, Aria. No way I’d ever tie you down, but would it be so bad to go to sleep and wake up together?” Unless she plans on sleeping in another room once we get married, it kind of goes hand in hand.

“Mm, that lasagna smells amazing. I’ve heard through the grapevine that you Rebel Riot boys sure can cook. Good thing, because us women don’t want to be chained to a stove either.” What is up with this girl today? Is she having second thoughts about getting married?

“I have no intention of using any chains on you. Mind telling me what’s really on your mind?” Could be why she’s here a tad early.

“Sorry. I’m being a bitch. Again. I had an interview with someone today and it was pure hell. The biggest male chauvinist on the planet. The mention of handcuffs and chains, well, it was like a bucket of ice water. Triggering how irritated I was after I ended the interview.”

“Unfortunately, some men are still stuck in the fifties. They expect their women to stay home to cook and clean and be at their beck and call. I have a ton of respect for women who stay home to take care of their families. Hats off to them. They have demanding jobs and are highly underpaid. Don’t let the asshole ruin your day.”

“You know a glass of wine might make it all better.” Oh, and batting those long lashes at me might work too.

“Coming right up.” After pouring us each a glass, I hand her one and we both sit together. One sip of the fruity red and she sighs. It’s the little things in life. “I was going to make a toast since it’s our four-month anniversary, but it’s too late. You sipped.”

A deep, throaty laugh expels from her lungs and damn if my cock doesn’t stand at attention. “I can’t believe you remembered. How sweet.” When she leans her head on my shoulder, I kiss her crown.

“What’s not to remember? It was an eventful night.” I’ve no doubt she’s playing it all out in her head. I know I am.

Our quiet moment is rudely interrupted by the incessant sound of the buzzer. “Food’s ready. I need to pop in the bread real quick.” She follows me into the kitchen, and as soon as I take the lasagna out of the oven, she squeals.

“What’s wrong? Are you hurt?” I’ve been totally paranoid ever since Mom had her stroke. Striding over, I start examining her.

“Stop, I’m fine. Really. I just had the most brilliant idea ever. No need to find a venue for the wedding because I have the perfect plan. I just need to run it by you first.”

“Okay, but did you need to scream like a banshee? I almost had a freaking heart attack.”

She’s giddy with excitement as I pop the bread in the oven. There’s something missing. Where’s the salad? “Did you forget the salad in the car?”

“Damn, damn, damn. It’s at home in my fridge. That damn interview messed with me so bad I forgot it.” Pulling her in for a hug, I nuzzle her neck. She instantly relaxes in my arms.

“No worries. It’s the thought that counts. Let’s eat and we can discuss your brilliant wedding plans. You game?”

“I am, but I’m not sure if you’ll be on board. Guess we’re about to find out.”

ARIA

Jax was one hundred percent on board with my plans. Since it affects several people, we need to run it by them first. If they give us the thumbs up, then we will have the wedding of the century. It will be on every magazine cover imaginable. And it will be great publicity for both Glamify and Beautify magazines as well. Who knows, I might even get a big fat raise out of this exclusive.

Now we’re side by side, cleaning up. This is the reason I don’t like cooking. Too many dishes. Mom laughs because I love to bake, which she thinks dirties way more dishes than cooking ever did. She might be right, but I have a sweet tooth. That and the fact that I have a dishwasher for the win. Jax does too, but he very rarely uses it. I don’t mind sucking it up now and again since the lasagna was to die for.

“I’m so stuffed, I can’t move.” I shouldn’t have had that second piece of garlic bread, but c’mon. Who can resist hot and toasty garlic bread? Obviously not me.

“Me too. Let’s curl up on the sofa and watch a movie. Let our food digest before we have dessert.” Just the thought makes me nauseous.

“I’ll take a raincheck on that. I couldn’t eat another bite if my life depended on it.”

“Your sweet pussy is my dessert, baby. Only dessert that I’ll ever need for the rest of my life, but since you can’t have any, I do have brownies.” God, this man. I wouldn’t change a thing about him.

“I don’t want pussy, but I’d love your cock for dessert. I’ve never tasted you and I’m thinking tonight might be the night. Are you up for a little sixty-nine later?”

“The thought of you sitting on my face is so fucking hot that I’m not sure if I can wait.”

“You don’t have a choice, because I don’t want to gag when I’m deep-throating your cock. Our food needs to settle first. Hence, dessert. Etiquette states that you need to wait at least twenty to thirty minutes if you’re feeling full. And I’m stuffed.” If there was a plural to that word, that’s how full I would be.

“Well, since you’re always doing research, I’ll take your word for it. Here, pick a movie so the time goes by faster.” When he hands me the remote, I might fall in love with him a little bit more. What man does that?

I skip all the sappy channels with the cozy vibes because that’s not Jax. Real life, yes. Movies, hell no. When I notice a new thriller, I hit play. Scary movies will keep us enthralled until it’s time for us to eat dessert. With my legs tucked underneath me, we snuggle on the sofa and start watching the movie.

Hours later, I stifle a yawn. With a stretch, my eyes flutter open. My body aches where I sat on my legs. They tingle with pins and needles. I’m sitting in the dark, in complete silence. It takes me a few minutes to realize the television is off. Did I fall asleep? Glancing over, Jax is curled up by my side. Sleeping. I’ve no idea what time it is, but I need to be at the magazine at eight for a meeting with Silas.

I’m afraid to wake Jax, so I struggle to untangle him without waking him. With his head resting on a pillow, I stand on shaky legs. Waiting for the dizziness to subside. Then I tiptoe into the kitchen, grab my phone, and swipe. Holy cow. It’s five in the morning. I hadn’t planned on falling asleep and basically spending the night. No way I can go back to sleep, or I’ll be late. I hate the thought of going to my meeting wearing the same clothes as I had yesterday, but I don’t want to drive home either. Screw it. I’ve been working from home, so no one knows what the hell I wear.

If I’m going to stay awake, I need coffee. Jax has a pod machine and a pot, so I opt for that. I have a feeling I’ll need more than one cup. I’ll take a shower to freshen up after I’ve had my first. Grabbing the creamer out of the fridge, I wait for the pot to finish brewing. Smells amazing. The aroma has a hint of spice yet chocolatey undertones. Two of my favorite scents in the whole wide world. They can’t hold a candle to Jax…

I scream when something slithers around me until I realize it’s Jax. My heart’s pounding out of my chest when he chuckles behind me. “Sorry, didn’t want to scare you but the coffee woke me up. What time is it?” Holding his arms, I look out the window.

“The sunrise is in about thirty minutes. I have a meeting with Silas at eight. First coffee then a shower. You?”

When he kisses my neck, I melt into him. We never had dessert last night. Such a shame. I for one think you can have dessert any time of the day. I wonder if Jax feels the same. If his morning wood is any indication, I’d say he’s up for anything right now. Coffee can wait.

Spinning around, I drop to my knees. With a zip and a tug, his clothes pool at his feet. “Fuck, baby. Dessert for breakfast? Hell yes.”

With one hand wrapped around his shaft, smooth and thick like steel, I lick the crown and wrap my lips around the swollen head. His knees about buckle as I take him deep inside my throat. Bobbing my head up and down, I pump his smooth flesh while wetness pools between my thighs. So hot and slick, he could easily slip right in.

He quickly turns the tables. Stripping me in seconds, he lays on the floor, grabs my waist and lines up my mouth with his cock. When his warm breath hits my slick folds, I almost detonate. It’s when his tongue spears into me that I shatter. Pulsing around his tongue. Catching my breath, I wrap my mouth around his thickness until he hits the back of my throat. With a flick of my tongue, I probe his small opening and suck.

“Fuck I’m gonna come.” And he does as I swallow every last drop.

Best dessert I’ve had. Ever.
