Holy Fuck! Mal's entire body heated as he peered out at his boy. He adjusted the leather pouch holding his quickly growing erection.

Adam was the sexiest little thing that Mal had ever seen in his entire existence. Lazily floating on his back, naked Adam was a vision, and Mal wanted his mate immediately. He slid open the door before stepping back into the heat of the realm. Adam lifted his head as he must have heard Mal exit the house.

"Hello, my handsome mate," Adam greeted. He flipped onto his stomach and started to swim forward.

Mal was so damn glad that he'd left work early.

It was getting easier to delegate his duties to his lieutenants and Adam had been right about him having an assistant. Being newly mated, it was expected of Mal to want to spend as much time with his mate as possible. Mal didn't think that would ever change for him though. He hated being away from Adam. Even for a couple of hours.

"Enjoying yourself, boy?" Mal teased.

Adam reached the side of the pool before plopping his elbows on the edge. "I would be enjoying myself more if you were to join me."

His boy batted those fucking long lashes. Adam knew just how to entice Mal.

"What if I came home for something else?" Mal asked.

Adam laughed. "Then I guess I'll just have to entertain myself." He slipped his hand down and out of sight.

Mal growled. "Should you be touching yourself?"

"I don't know, Daddy," Adam drawled. "Should I?"

"No, you should not," Mal stated firmly. "Unless you want a spanking."

Adam groaned while throwing his head back. "It's been a long time since you reddened my ass, Daddy."

It had been two days. His boy just really liked getting spanked. "What a bad mate I am." He willed his clothes away until he stood completely bare in front of his boy.

"You can make it up to me now," Adam told him sweetly.

He strode to the shallow end of the pool where the steps led into the water. Mal stepped slowly into the pool, allowing the water to lap at his ankles. His naked boy swam closer as Mal beckoned to him.

The longer Mal was around Adam, the more he realized how long he'd gone without any real connections. He'd had friends but Mal hadn't been a good friend in return. He'd been so lost inside himself that he hadn't known how lost he'd been. Adam's addition to his life saved Mal from the dark loneliness.

It would take time, but Mal was rededicated to taking care of his realm, demons, and those that counted on him. Adam's huge heart already showed the entire realm that they could have better.

The Hell realm had always been the realm that others avoided. It wasn't just because of the demons either. Many demons traveled outside the realm for work purposes and reported back how differently they were treated by other species. As if they were less. Adam was showing them all, including Mal, that they were not less than any other species. They performed the jobs that no one else wanted.

It was thanks to demons like Mal that other paranormals and humans could live in peace and safety without the evil souls remaining in their realms. Adam taught Mal to demand respect for himself and his species.

"Hey." Adam cupped Mal's face with wet hands. "What is going on in that amazing brain of yours?"

Mal smiled. "Sorry. Got lost in thought."

"About me?" Adam teased.

"Yes," Mal answered truthfully. "About how lost I was without you. How much you've changed the way we all see ourselves."

"You are an amazing demon and I'm proud to be your mate."

Mal yanked Adam against him to kiss his mate deeply. He didn't often get sentimental but coming home to Adam meant the world to him. Still plundering Adam's mouth, Mal pushed into the water and floated to the deep end of the pool.

The cool water brushed against his side as he held Adam closely. Having the pool installed had been one of the single best decisions that Adam had made so far. The fae water was thicker than normal water found in both the human and Hell realms. The healing properties which Mal didn't need were also good for Adam. Especially as often as Mal had to be inside his mate.

He loved being inside his boy.

Adam ripped his mouth away. "Need you inside me."

Mal wanted that as well. He slid one hand down Adam's back and over his ass. As Mal started to rub between Adam's crease, his boy latched on to Mal's nipple. Electric pleasure pulled at his core as Adam suckled.

Mal pressed the tip of his finger against Adam's entrance.

There were still questions about why the long gap of mates not being found. With Lawson, Ari, Adam, and others on the job, Mal was certain that answers would be revealed soon. In the meantime, Mal couldn't wait to see who would fall next.

Mal kissed the top of Adam's head as he closed his eyes, allowing the water that caressed them to lull them into a peaceful rest.
