Chapter Ten
Adam
Having a dinner party had suddenly become more complicated than Adam had been expecting. Gammer was locked in his rooms with Montelo. Notel was at the stove stirring pots, filling bowls, and cooking some kind of meat that Adam had never heard of. Siezman was setting the formal table. Levi was relaxing out back in the hot tub. Mal had disappeared into his office. And Adam…he stood trying to figure out how he was supposed to act when Furfell was headed over in half an hour. Furfell, Mal's Lieutenant, the demon who had scowled at him, and the uncle of the demon that Adam had just condemned to the Hellhounds.
This was not how his dinner party was supposed to go!
Adam set the table placemats he was supposed to be choosing from on the side table before he stomped down the hall. He was not going to stress about this alone.
He didn't knock on Mal's office door and instead pushed it open hard enough that it banged against the wall. Sitting at his desk, Mal jumped.
"What are you doing?" Adam demanded.
Mal swallowed hard. "Working?"
"Working?" Adam repeated. He slammed the door closed before he locked it for good measure. "I'm quietly freaking out and youre in here working?"
"I'm here working because you were quietly freaking out and every time I made a suggestion, you growled at me," Mal said patiently.
"I don't growl!"
"You do, mate," Mal said. "It's…cute."
"Cute?" Oh Hell no! He stalked forward. "Did you just call me cute?"
"Adorable. Breathtaking. Amazing," Mal said.
Adam's lips twitched so he pressed them into a firm line.
"Gorgeous. Edible. Funny. Smart," Mal continued.
"Stop!" Adam laughed. He walked over and settled on Mal's lap.
"Are you ready to talk about it now?" Mal asked. He wrapped his arm around Adam's waist, making it easier to snuggle.
"Furfell is going to hate me," Adam said.
Mal frowned. "Why would he—"
"Zacorah, his nephew," Adam said.
"Zacorah broke one of our realm's highest rules. He's also lucky that he didn't touch or hurt you or I would have ripped his heart from his chest. Zacorah is responsible for his own actions. Furfell isn't going to blame you."
Adam didn't agree. Not that Mal was understanding. Mal wasn't in a new realm trying to not only fit in but take care of the people that needed him.
"I don't understand," Mal said softly.
"I know. It's okay." Adam glanced toward the papers piled on top of Mal's desk. He really had been working. "What're you doing?"
"Reviewing the list of souls and their crimes that have arrived in the realm. They need to be sorted into where they will spend eternity."
"Oh." That was a big stack. "That many have been sent here?"
Mal flushed. Aww, now that was cute. He didn't say that though. "I'm behind. I haven't been… I don't like to leave you alone in bed."
"You usually work on this late at night?"
Mal shrugged. "I didn't have anything else to do."
He did now. That went unsaid but Adam could see that his mate was making time for him. For them.
"Why don't you have an assistant? You keep telling me to choose demons to help me, but you don't have anyone other than Siezman, Gammer, and Notel."
"Before you—"
Adam nodded. Yeah, he knew. Before him, all Mal had done was work. "Can you teach an assistant to do this?"
Mal blinked. "Yes, it's not difficult. Just time consuming."
Adam already had the perfect demon in mind. He'd been thinking of hiring Nasario as his receptionist, but Nasario hadn't wanted to leave the core. This though… This would be perfect for the little demon that had shown up for his interview in a bow tie. A bow tie. He reminded Adam so much of Ari that Adam immediately wanted to adopt him.
"Your new assistant will be here Monday morning to deal with this mess. You can spend the morning training them while we get them set up in one of the rooms we don't use." It was a big house. One more demon wouldn't matter. Plus, Adam wanted his house to be filled with love. He was pretty sure they could add rooms if need be. He'd ask Siezman.
"Did—" Mal scowled. "Did you just claim me a new demon? I can feel a new bond forming."
Adam beamed. That was fast. "I did. Just remember he's my minion too." Only ninety-three more to go.
"That's quite something," Mal murmured.
Adam shrugged. "I knew he fit in somewhere. I just couldn't figure out where."
"You are amazing," Mal said. "Now that I don't have to finish this paperwork, how will I spend my time?"
"I'm so glad you asked." Adam quickly straddled his mate's waist. He sat back on Mal's erection. "How fast can you get us off?"
"Fast." Mal was already attacking Adam's zipper and button. "Incredibly fast. Lightning speed."
Adam laughed but Mal lifted him and his back hit the top of the desk, scattering the papers. His breath caught as Mal got his jeans and underwear down his legs before he swallowed Adam's cock.
Moaning, he thrust up into Mal's hot tight mouth.
Mal sucked Adam's cock down his throat before his finger brushed against Adam's hole.
"Do it," Adam pleaded. "Stretch me."
He leaned back before kicking off his jeans and underwear that Mal hadn't finished pulling off him. Adam lifted his hips. His bare foot dug into the edge of the desk but he finally felt the pressure of Mal's thick digit sinking into him.
"Yes," he hissed. "Please, Daddy, it's been so long."
"Do you need me, boy?" Mal's gravelly voice asked beside his ear. "Want me inside you?"
"So much," he confessed. "Empty without you."
Mal brushed against his prostate and Adam's hips jerked.
"You are such a needy boy. Always wanting to be filled." Mal added a second finger. Adam had no idea where the lube had come from but he was not going to complain. Good mate for being prepared to take care of Adam's needs.
Adam whined as Mal stretched his fingers. Opening Adam to take that big cock.
"I got you, my mate," Mal promised. He kissed Adam as he added that third finger. The feeling of being stretched too much, the sting, then the absolute pleasure as Adam's body adjusted and he could take three fingers thrusting inside him.
Adam loved being filled by his mate. Fingers or cock. It didn't matter. He pressed down against Mal's digits before they brushed over his prostate again.
Mal pegged his prostate multiple times. Adam's hard shaft bobbed in front of him and he wrapped his fingers around his dick and stroked.
"I love watching you touch yourself," Mal told him.
Adam jacked his cock in time with the thrust of Mal's fingers. His body started to shake. He was so close.
"Hold on, boy." Mal withdrew his fingers and lubed his cock.
Adam licked his lips. They probably didn't have time for Adam to suck his mate off too, but he'd get that piece of meat in his mouth later. Adam snickered. He might not know what Notel was cooking but he knew what Mal sported.
Mal lifted a brow.
"Inside me," Adam demanded. "Hurry!"
Mal gripped his waist before pulling Adam down to the edge of the desk with his ass hanging off.
"Fuck yeah, Daddy!"
Mal pressed his cock inside slowly.
His shaft was bigger than even the three fingers that Mal had used to prep him with. Adam didn't know much about demon anatomy but he would forever he thankful for Mal's wonderful thick cock. It was so good!
Withdrawing, Mal's dick brushed over Adam's prostate and Adam whimpered. Too good. Too much.
Mal slammed back inside.
The desk rocked.
Adam arched, taking Mal deeper.
Mal drew back then plunged hard and deep.
Each press against his prostate had Adam chasing that high. That moment when his body gave in to the passion and desire. Closing his eyes, he jerked his cock faster.
His orgasm hit suddenly. Adam shouted as Mal fucked him through it. Adam lifted his head and bit down on Mal's pec. Hard.
Mal bellowed as he filled Adam with his hot cum.
Perfect. Adam collapsed against the desk.
Thunder rumbled outside the office window.
"Gammer is properly mated," Mal told him.
Adam laughed. It was kind of weird knowing each time someone completed their mating, but Adam was happy for his sweet demon. "Another mating of love."
"Yes it is." Mal kissed him. "We do have guests arriving soon."
"I better drag Levi out of the hot tub."
"I'll make sure Notel doesn't need anything."
Mal helped Adam off the desk. Adam couldn't help brushing his fingers over the bite he'd left on Mal's pec.
"I didn't hurt you, did I?" he asked.
"Never," Mal assured him.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Adam finished dressing then left the office feeling better than when he'd gone inside. Even if Furfell blamed him, then Adam would deal with it. It hadn't been his fault and no matter how long it took, Adam would make Furfell like him. It was important to his mate.
He slid the sliding glass door open before stepping out into the heat.
"Are you done having sex?" Levi asked.
Adam smirked. "For the moment."
Levi rolled his eyes.
"The guests should be arriving soon. I thought I'd warn you so you could get dressed."
"Thanks." Levi rose from the hot tub. The tiny swim trunks clung to him. Everywhere.
Adam lifted a brow.
Levi blushed. "This was all Siezman could find for me."
Siezman could make Levi whatever he wanted. The naughty demon had just wanted to look at Levi in those revealing trunks. Adam approved. Levi was an attractive man. He was almost as tall as the warrior demon even if he was slimmer. He had an actual six-pack of abs from all his time running. He wasn't as amazing as Adam's mate, but Adam could see the appeal.
From the corner of his eye, something drew his attention to the fence on the far side of the yard. Adam blinked, but it was gone. Still, he could have sworn he'd seen wings. Remembering the peepers from his own time in the pool, Adam threw Levi a towel. They were going to have to add to the fence or something.
"Come on. Unless youre wearing that to dinner."
Levi scowled as he wrapped the towel around his waist. "I'm going to talk Axel into adding a hot tub by the pool at home. That was amazing."
Levi did seem more relaxed. "How're you doing?"
Levi shook his head. "I still… I dont know what to do but it does help not being there. Seeing things."
"Take your time. You're welcome here for as long as you want," Adam told him.
"Thanks. I'm going to get dressed."
Adam followed Levi in the house but was stopped by Siezman. "I picked the black and gray placemats since you seemed busy."
Adam grinned. "I might have gotten distracted."
"I noticed," Siezman retorted.
Oh yeah? "Nice swim trunks you made Levi," Adam teased.
Siezman sniffed. "I might have gotten his size wrong."
Adam laughed before he pulled his minion into a hug. "Good job."
Siezman beamed before pulling away as Adam's arm pulsed. The doorbell rang a moment later.
"You have guests arriving and I need to finish the decorations," Siezman told him.
Adam brushed his sweaty palms on his jeans before he headed for the front door. He passed Mal and Levi standing in the living room. He waved them away so he could greet his guest.
He opened the front door with a smile.
Furfell frowned at him before shoving a bag into his hands.
Adam almost dropped it.
"It's for you," Furfell said. "For inviting me to dinner. You're not human and not a romantic interest so I didn't bring you flowers. You're fae. I don't know what kind of fae. That didn't help. I brought you that."
"Okay." That was a lot to unpack. He opened the top of the bag. Rows of long thin red candles.
"I make those," Furfell said.
"They're gorgeous." They really were. Each candle had a sketch much like the tattoo across his mate's throat. "Thank you. It means a lot."
"It does?" Furfell asked.
"Yes. It feels like we could be friends after all," Adam said honestly.
"Why wouldn't we be?"
"Uh." Adam cleared his throat. "I don't know if you heard about what happened this afternoon with your nephew—"
Furfell waved his hand. "Zacorah was never a good being. I was surprised when he came into power at all. He couldn't handle that. And he was an idiot that attacked a Duke."
"You don't blame me?" Adam asked for clarification.
"Not your fault."
All the tension left him and his shoulders dropped. "Thank you. Please come in." He waved Furfell forward.
"Mal, you have to see what Furfell made us." He grinned at his mate since Mal had been right.
"Welcome, friend," Mal greeted Furfell.
"Siezman!" Adam yelled. He wanted the candles added to their table for dinner.
There was a shriek. Something metal fell to the floor. Furfell roared.
Adam was yanked back just in time to avoid getting run over as Siezman and Furfell ran at each other.
What the hell? Were they going to fight?
The two demons crashed into each other and— Shit! They were kissing. Furfell was practically eating Siezman's mouth. And now humping. What— And Furfell's hand was inside Siezman's pants.
"Kitchen!" Adam said loudly. "We…uh…kitchen." He looked over his shoulder. Mal was staring slack-jawed at Furfell and Siezman, and Levi had a hand covering his eyes.
Adam laid his new candles on the closest table before he grabbed Mal's hand with one of his and Levi's with the other. He jerked them toward the kitchen as Siezman's back hit the wall, knocking off one of the pictures.
And now cocks! Adam could see cocks!
He hurried to drag his mate and Levi from the hall and into the kitchen.
Notel whirled around with a ladle in his hand. "What is happening?"
"Pretty sure one of Mal's Lieutenants is Siezman's mate," Adam informed him.
"Can I look now?" Levi asked.
Adam laughed. "I think so." He winced at the sound of flesh smacking against flesh. "Can't do much for your ears though."
His arm pulsed.
He looked at his mate. "I'm not getting it."
Mal blinked at him.
The doorbell rang.
"Maybe they'll go away?"
The doorbell rang again.
"Not going out there," Adam said.
The sound of sex grew louder. Turned out Siezman was a screamer. Furfell was a grunter.
The kitchen door opened.
Somari, the other Lieutenant that Adam had invited over for dinner, stuck his head in. "Uh, guys, Furfell is fucking some demon in your hall."
"We know!" Adam waved him inside.
"Just making sure." Somari sauntered in. "I did not ever want to see Furfell's big ass fucking someone. It's like seeing my brother or parents having sex." He shuddered. "I might need eye bleach."
"We're going to need a bigger house," Mal muttered. He still appeared shell-shocked.
Adam clapped. "We are! Isn't it great!"
Thunder shook the house.

Mal
It took thirty minutes for a sheepish Siezman and a cocky Furfell to enter the kitchen. He, Adam, Levi, and Somari were sitting at the informal table nibbling on the appetizers that Notel had prepared.
Mal scowled at his lieutenant as Siezman rushed across the kitchen to help Notel fill platters of meat.
Furfell sauntered over before stealing a stuffed mushroom off Somar's plate and popping it into his mouth.
Mal narrowed his eyes.
"Can I call you Daddy now?" Furfell asked.
Adam laughed before slapping a hand over his mouth.
Levi snorted.
Somari choked on his own bite of food.
Siezman dropped the spoon he'd been holding.
Notel shook his head and went back to plating the food.
Mal lurched out of his chair and yanked Furfell to him. Mal hugged Furfell hard. One of his oldest friends had found his mate. Yes, Mal would have preferred it hadn't taken place in his hall. In front of his mate. But he remembered back to when he'd first laid eyes on Adam.
"I have a mate," Furfell said in his ear. The disbelief was there. So was something more. The long-forgotten hope. What Lucifer had told Mal to remind the demons of.
Furfell was much like Mal had been before Adam had come into his life.
Mal had been hopeless. Waking up to torture souls, returning home after only to eat then bury himself in paperwork before finally sleeping. Truthfully, there had been many nights of no sleeping at all.
It was no way to live.
Mal could look back now and see that he'd been on the verge of burnout. Of taking desperate measures that would end his pitiful existence. It was a horrifying thought, but Adam had come at the perfect time to save him. To save them all really.
He knew the mistakes he'd made. Most of them. Mal would spend the rest of his time as the Master setting things right. He wouldnt allow the older generation of demons to think they'd been forsaken any longer. Even if it took centuries, Mal would help his demons find their soulmates.
After a few more slaps to Furfell's back, Mal released his old friend. He grinned, showing off his fangs. "Welcome to the family."
"Yes!" Adam pumped his fist. "More minions!"
Mal glanced over at his mate. He loved seeing Adam happy and full of life. "My minion."
Adam's face fell. "No?"
"Yes," he said firmly. He actually didn't mind whether or not Adam claimed Furfell or not but he couldn't let his mate run wild. They really would have a hundred demons.
"Minion?" Furfell asked.
Adam nodded. "My minions. They're going to help me with world domination. And my taxes and shit like that."
Furfell laughed. "And who are your minions?"
Adam started counting them on his fingers. "Siezman, Notel, and Gammer. Nasario. He's Mal's new assistant that starts on Monday but I already claimed him as my minion. And I'm sure Montelo will want to be my minion since I basically threw Gammer at him. So…five?"
Furfell grinned at Mal. "Sorry, man. I go with my mate."
Siezman sighed dreamily in the background.
"Yes! Six minions!" Adam exclaimed.
"Wait!" Somari raised his hand. "I want to be a minion. I like world domination and shit. But I'm not doing anyone's taxes."
"Seven!" Adam leapt from his chair and danced around. "Seven minions." He rubbed his palms together while cackling like a villain. "I will rule the world!"
"What world?" Mal asked as he pulled his mate closer. "You practically already rule the realm."
"Details, mate." Adam patted his chest. "Don't bother me with details. What is important is that I have seven minions. Only ninety more to go."
Mal had to say it. "You aren't having ninety-seven demons." How had Adam even come up with that number?
He did not trust when Adam merely patted his chest and smiled.
"Dinner!" Notel announced. "Siezman, please lead everyone to the table and call Gammer and his mate to come down. I have spent all day cooking and you all will eat every bite."
Furfell grabbed Siezman as the little demon passed. "I worked up an appetite."
Mal groaned. "Please don't remind us." He was not going to get the sight of his Lieutenant fucking his demon out of his head for a very long time.
"Yeah, man," Somari added. "Did not need to see that."
Furfell didn't look one bit embarrassed. "You might want to invest in some earplugs. My mate is a screamer and I plan on making him scream again later tonight."
Siezman looked like he was going to swallow his tongue.
"Dinner," Mal said with a growl. How was this his life now?
"I'll meet you in there." Adam placed a kiss on his cheek before walking over to Notel.
Mal didn't know what his mate was up to this time, but he was starving and would deal with it later.

Adam
Adam waited until everyone had left the kitchen before he addressed Notel. "How're you doing?"
Notel finished placing a pot in the sink. "I'm fine. How are you."
Okay, not what he was looking for. "I'm great. Thank you so much for cooking and taking care of dinner tonight. I really appreciate all your hard work."
"I love cooking. This is what I like to do."
Oh! Come on! "Still it wouldn't have been easy since first Gammer then Siezman…got distracted."
"Neither of them is that much help in the kitchen," Notel told him. "It is more peaceful when they have other tasks."
Fuck it! "Notel, how do you feel about Gammer and Siezman finding their mates?"
Notel blinked once before he smiled. His entire face lit up. "I am so happy for my brothers. It is an amazing thing. Finding a mate."
Now they were getting somewhere. "Youre not feeling left out? It was hard on me to see my family around me finding their mates and I…was hurt."
"Oh! You are worried about me?" Notel asked.
"Yes. I don't want you to feel left out."
Notel shook his head. "I am very happy for my brothers. I…I will meet my mate when it's time." He looked away.
Wait a minute. "Do you know who your mate is?" Adam asked suspiciously.
Notel's head snapped up. "No?"
"I don't believe you!" Adam pointed at the small demon. "Spill."
Notel sighed. "I have a…connection to another. He works for a family that Mal is close to. I have never met him but…when we talk. He's…"
"Who?" Adam demanded, grabbing Notel's shoulders.
Notel lowered his voice. "He works for the Alpha of the Hellhounds."
Adam gasped. "Gaston! You think Gaston might be your mate!"
"Shh," Notel hissed.
Oh, this was so good. "Why havent you met him yet?" Even Adam had met Bo's demon assistant.
"I did not want to find my mate…and my brothers—"
Adam could understand that. "There is nothing stopping you now."
"He's…he's asked to meet up several times. I will think on this."
Not good enough. Adam hugged Notel. "Let me know if you need anything."
"I need you to go eat so I can finish serving the food."
Adam laughed and danced away. "You got it." Instead of heading straight to the dining room, Adam detoured into the closest bathroom and locked the door. He pulled his phone from his pocket and dialed a number he knew by heart.
Nate answered on the second ring. "Hey! Bo said that you were attacked earlier. You okay?"
"I'm fine." Had that just been earlier that day? So much had already happened that Adam nearly forgot. "I need a favor though."
"What's up?"
"I'm going to need you to send your demon to my house within the next few days," Adam informed him.
"No!" Nate wailed. "You have your own minions! Gaston is mine."
"Even if his mate is here?"
He heard a grunt. A thump. Then a growl. "Everything okay?" Adam asked.
"I might have pushed Craig off the bed," Nate told him. "Sorry, Papa Bear."
"Nate!" Adam said but he was laughing too hard to really scold his friend.
"Boy!" Craig growled in the background.
"Shh, Papa Bear. I'm on the phone. Okay, Adam, tell me everything!"
Adam wiped the tears caused by laughter from his eyes. "Here's the plan…"
