Chapter 3

-Alison-

Jared had one inviolable rule in the house: no interruptions while we were playing, regardless of the circumstances. He made it unequivocally clear that even if the world were on the brink of collapse, he wouldn't tolerate any disturbances. So, when a knock echoed into the blue room, he shot a murderous glance over his shoulder. I sensed whoever it was must have a good reason for intruding, and I didn't believe they deserved his wrath, so I pulled Jared close to me, softening his anger with a gentle kiss. But then the knocking persisted.

A deep groan escaped him as he glared once more, but he showed no intention of heeding the interruption. Instead, he parted my legs with an unapologetic boldness, leaving me open. His cum still lingered on my skin, and as he began to stroke himself, he slowly grew harder. The longing from our time apart left him unsatisfied, and I eagerly awaited him.

The knocking persisted for a third time, yet he timed his response perfectly, thrusting into me with such force that I couldn't help but cry out.

"Louder," he demanded as he intensified his rhythm, intending to convey a clear message to the intruder.

"I-Isn't it important to investigate?" I managed to stammer amidst the relentless thrusts, each one knocking the breath from my lungs.

"No," he snapped. "Now, scream for me."

I could only listen, compelled to absorb his anger aimed at the intruder, and I cried out his name, ensuring my voice was heard. By the time the exquisite torment ended and he had ravished me until my limbs trembled, the knocking had ceased, and I hoped the intruder had departed. Jared lay atop me, his body trembling from the intensity of his climax, yet a sense of calmness seemed to settle upon him.

"I'm going to deal with whoever dares to interrupt us," he murmured, his tone resolute.

I drew him close, planting a kiss on his lips. "Let it go. It's not—"

Before I could finish, the knock echoed once more.

"Damn it," I whispered, realizing I couldn't dissuade Jared this time.

He withdrew from me, slipping out of my embrace as he stormed across the room, heading for a drawer filled with knives before approaching the closed doors. I sighed, leaning back, understanding that this unfortunate soul was likely just carrying out their duty. Yet, I knew better than to challenge Jared's world, his rules, and his methods. It was simply the way he had to be. So, I turned onto my side, feigning readiness for rest, all the while listening intently.

With a sharp click, the doors swung open under Jared's forceful grip, and I braced myself for the sound of a body hitting the floor, but there was no thud to follow.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Jared demanded.

"You said we had to come find you when we saw movement, no matter what," the intruder replied.

"What?" Jared's tone softened, losing some of its edge.

Then their voices dropped to a hushed tone, signaling their desire to keep me in the dark about their conversation. Despite Jared's previous instructions, I was convinced he was still considering killing the intruder. However, to my surprise, he didn't. Their exchange concluded, and I heard the doors close. As I lifted myself and turned my head, I witnessed Jared's slow return to the drawer, where he stowed away the knife. I scrutinized him, noting the tension that still gripped him before he met my gaze.

"You didn't kill him," I observed.

"No," he affirmed.

"Is something bothering you?"

He shook his head before approaching me. In an instant, his hand encircled my throat, pressing me into the bed as he claimed my lips in a possessive kiss. Yet it was brief, more like a promise of what was to come later.

"Stay awake," he commanded.

"What?" I questioned.

"Stay awake. I want you up and ready for me."

"The entire night?"

"If necessary."

"I'm not sure I understand," I confessed.

"You don't need to understand. Just stay awake, Alison. I'm not finished with you yet."

I blinked, a little bewildered, as he withdrew from me and headed into the bathroom connected to our room. I listened to the sound of him tidying up before he exited the room, returning in a robe. Intrigued, I slipped out of bed and made my way to the bathroom to freshen up and grab a robe for myself. After closing the doors behind me, I proceeded toward our bedroom. Upon entering, I could hear Jared dressing. I barely reached the closet door before he burst out, nearly colliding with me.

"Jared, what's happening?" I asked, concerned.

He shook his head, securing his guns in their holster, before slipping on his jacket. As the leader now, he always had to maintain a certain appearance, as if he weren't preparing for a confrontation.

"Remember, stay awake for me," he reminded me, planting another kiss on my lips.

I watched him intently, wanting to intervene, but just as he reached the door, he turned back to me.

"And choose a new collar for tonight. One that signifies celebration," he instructed.

"So, this is good news?" I inquired hesitantly.

He offered a faint smile before walking away. Yet, even as I stood there, I knew "good news" wasn't the right term. A "celebration" in our world often meant death. I sighed, wrapping my arms around myself. Despite the years we'd spent together, I still struggled to fully accept it, though my hands were not clean either.

Shaking off the unease, I retrieved the key for my current collar and then stepped into the shower.
