24. Man On A Mission

MAN ON A MISSION
K elly left work half a day two days later before Michael picked her up. They were going to her parents for dinner tonight. Providing that Ty ended up at Electra’s, but so far there didn’t seem to be an issue.
First thing she was going to do was go work out though. The gym should be quiet and she could get it over with and it’d help her relax a bit too. Relieve some tension.
The meeting with Michael and his parents went so well and she wanted the one with her parents to be the same.
“I haven’t seen you in a while.”
She’d just gotten on the treadmill and was going to turn on some music on her phone to listen in her earbuds when she heard that and turned.
“Hi, Jill. What are you doing here?”
“I’m on vacation this week. I’ve been running around and thought I’d sneak over now. How about you?”
Talk about a coincidence and when she was hoping to avoid people.
“I took half a day to get some things done and decided to get my workout in first.”
“I’m going to get up here next to you,” Jill said. “We can chat about what I heard.”
So much for getting lost in the music. In the past she’d be fine with this. She liked Jill. More like she’d always been an ear for Jill when she was struggling with her boyfriend and she could cheer her up.
“What is that you heard?” she asked, adjusting the speed on the treadmill.
“That you’ve got a boyfriend,” Jill said. “Someone that is huge!”
She laughed. She’d come to the gym two more times with Michael when he’d been staying at her house or visiting on a Tuesday when Ty was at Electra’s. She hadn’t spent the night at his once and it was fine. Maybe now that Ty was aware of her relationship with Michael, they could get to that point in the future.
“I do have a boyfriend,” she said. “Who told you?”
“Kyle,” Jill said. “He’s had his eye on you for years.”
“Who is Kyle?” she asked. She’d never heard the name before and if she’d known someone was interested in her in the past, she’d at least talk to them and see if there was anything worth exploring.
“He lives in my building,” Jill said. “He’s shy. He’s seen you coming and going and has asked about you before.”
“I haven’t been to your building since I started dating Michael,” she said. “The only way someone would see us together is if it was here or if they saw us going into my building together.”
She didn’t want to think she was being watched or anything like that.
“Kyle works out here. You might not notice him. He doesn’t stand out much. Average height, build. Brown hair and eyes. Keeps to himself,” Jill said.
Which described a lot of men and half the time she wasn’t looking around because she was interested but more because she was aware of the people around her.
“If he’s never come up to talk to me, then I wouldn’t know. But yes, I’ve got a boyfriend.”
“And he’s huge,” Jill said again. “Where did you meet and how long has it been going on?”
“We met at work,” she said.
“He works for Fierce?” Jill asked. “Is he related to them? You know, like you’ve said before that the owner sets people up?”
She talked to be friendly and maybe should have kept some things to herself.
“No,” she said. “He is the COO of Marshall Printing. He works for Cade’s wife.”
No reason to say Michael’s last name right now. It didn’t make a difference.
“Oh,” Jill said. “And we know you do a lot of business with Marshall Printing. I didn’t hear that he was old.”
“He’s not,” she said, frowning. “Why would you say that?”
“The title of his position,” Jill said.
“Alex is the CEO and President and she’s in her thirties,” she said. “So is Michael. He’s only a few years older than me.”
“I shouldn’t judge like that,” Jill said. “I guess I think a lot of people in their thirties are old.”
She closed one eye at Jill. “You’re twenty-seven. We are only four years apart.”
“I know,” Jill said. “I’ll be thirty soon enough, but not that soon.”
“It’s only a number,” she said. “How are things with Preston?”
“They are fine,” Jill said. “We are still dating. He was mad that I got mad at him for going out with his friends so he’s cut that back some.”
“You have to each have time to yourselves too,” she said. “I don’t think it’s good or healthy to be in each other’s face the whole time you’re dating.”
“What if you love each other?” Jill asked. “I mean you’ve got to spend time together to get to know each other.”
“Michael and I don’t spend that much time together, but when we do it’s quality time. That’s more important.”
“If you say so,” Jill said. “I’m not sure I could be in a relationship like that.”
Kelly had been that way for years too but matured some.
“You end up doing what works for you,” she said. “I learned that.”
The two of them turned to talking gossip about things in the building, with Kelly steering it that way, then she finished up quickly with her thirty minutes on the treadmill and another twenty lifting some weights now that she had a better idea of what to do.
She walked home and took a shower and was leaving the bathroom when her phone went off with a text.
She saw it was from Michael and took a guess he was probably canceling on her.
He wasn’t. Just saying that he dropped Ty off and decided not to go back to work if she cared if he came over now.
Just got out of the shower. I might still be damp if you rush.
She hit send before she changed her mind about that text and then walked into her kitchen to get a bottle of water.
It wasn’t even five minutes later and the buzzer went off downstairs.
“Yes,” she said.
“It’s Michael.”
“Did you speed?”
“With a text like that, yes,” he said. “But I was on my way here when I texted and decided I should reach out first anyway.”
“I’ll be right down,” she said.
She rushed out the door knowing that he wanted to come early and spend time with her.
Maybe she was feeling a little horny and needed another way to relax before she went to her parents’ too.
“Hey,” he said. “Your hair isn’t damp.”
“I didn’t wash it,” she said. She grabbed his hand and pulled him up the stairs. “But maybe I didn’t dry off enough in other places.”
They got behind her door and he turned her and had her back against the wall, his mouth to hers.
“I can’t get enough of you at times.”
“The same,” she said. “The couch. It’s closer.”
“It’s small,” he said, pulling her shirt over her head.
“We can make do. Sit down. I’ll get on top.”
She was undoing her pants and dropping them down quickly, then kicking them away.
He did the same and flung his shirt off and onto the floor.
There was a condom in his hand that she’d taken out and nudged him to the couch to sit.
She got on her knees, opened the condom, rolled it down fast, then hopped up and spread her legs around his hips and sat down, savoring the fullness inside of her.
Sometimes she needed to just sit and feel. It was better than movement.
He wrapped his hand around her hair, crushing his mouth to hers.
She loved it when he did that. When he got a little rough and didn’t always worry he might hurt her.
There were times she was positive he held back and she’d told him not to do that.
She started to rise up and down, his hips lifting to meet and retreat with her.
They had a rocking motion going on her little sofa and she hoped it held up enough.
She sat back down and just started to squeeze him with her muscles again. She knew he liked it. She did too.
He knew what she was doing. Slowing them down.
Must be he didn’t want that because in the next second he was turning her on her back, him on one knee, one arm under one of her legs lifting it high and spreading her more, his hips thrusting into her like a man on a mission to possess every part of her.
Whatever she did to make him lose control like this, she was going to bottle it for the future.
Her arms went around his neck and she held on and let him take over.
She was screeching louder than normal, his mouth coming down to contain her. Her neighbors should thank her boyfriend for that, as the walls weren’t that thick here.
The couch was moving though, she heard it on the floor but didn’t want to tell him to stop.
She was building up for that high climax she always got with him and started to lift her hips to grind against him.
His motions were hard and jerky at this point. The finesse he normally had gone.
She didn’t have time to think of why when everything in her just exploded at once without warning.
He followed suit and then dropped down on top of her, panting.
“I might need another shower after that. I’m sweating again.”
“I probably should clean up too,” he said. “We could take it together.”
“Whenever we are in the shower together we end up doing this again. Why is that?”
“I can’t ever seem to get enough of you,” he said. “It’s like this addiction I never want to break.”
“That’s sweet in a controlling kind of way. I don’t even mind it.”
He reared up fast. “That came out completely wrong.”
“Nope,” she said. “I think it came out right and I wanted to hear it. Maybe I needed to hear it so I could finally tell you how much I love you.”
He let out a breath and kissed her softly on the lips. “I love you too.”
“I know you do. I know you know I love you too. It’s just we haven’t said it and I think it was time.”
“It is time,” he said, nodding and standing up. “I’m going to go clean up.”
“Take a shower,” she said. “I’ll just wash up while you’re in there.”
“No,” he said. “We can do it together quickly. I’ll keep my hands off of you.”
“Do you have the restraint?” she asked, laughing.
“I do. Can you grab my clothes so I’m not coming back out here naked? I’m sure if any of your neighbors are around they know what we just did.”
“Probably,” she said. “But with any luck no one is.”
She reached for their clothing and then met him in the bathroom.
They showered together with only a few touches here and there and then got dressed again.
One good thing she could say was that she was completely relaxed over this visit now.
