Epilogue
H e hurried eagerly through the darkened rows of tents, rubbing his chubby fingers together gleefully. Tonight would mark yet another notch on his belt, one he'd been looking forward to for several days now.
Reaching the tent, he didn't announce himself, instead just reaching for the zipper and pulling it down.
"I hope you're ready for me," he chuckled greedily, already envisioning the things he would do to the mother desperate to do whatever it took to help her children. "I've been looking forward to this."
A giant shadow rose up, blocking out the only light in the tent.
Fear turned the man's innards to ice.
"So have I, Robert," a male voice growled, the air vibrating with his fury.
"W-w-who are you?" Bob stammered, trying to back away, looking around frantically for the woman he was supposed to meet.
"It doesn't matter who I am," the mountain of a man said, grabbing Bob's arm and hauling him back into the tent so he couldn't escape. "It matters who you are. And what a piece of shit excuse for a man you've been."
Tears were pouring down Bob's cheeks now, his limbs quivering as arms wrapped themselves around his neck like steel cable.
"But don't worry," the mystery man promised. "I'm going to make sure you never hurt anyone again."
Bob tried to scream for help but couldn't speak. So, he tried to claw his way free. But the man's arms rippled and changed.
"This is for Emma and every other woman you've wronged," Rhyse snarled in his ear as his scale-covered arms tightened sharply.
Snap.
The tent was abruptly silent.
