22. Epilogue Two

A week later

Getting to know the new coven, or pack as Aziel likes to call them, has been amazing. It's been nice to be considered family when they hardly know me. They feel more like family to me than my own coven did.

And while werewolves slaughtered them, I find myself not caring in the slightest. If my dad were still alive, I wouldn't have forgiven him for everything he did to Aziel.

I have My Beloved now but sometimes I fall into the mindset of how many years we lost due to that day. If we had run away together, he would have never been cursed, and he wouldn't have been groomed to be the perfect killer.

The door opens and slams shut, a blur with long dark hair heading out to the field. Master Monreaux sighs as he enters the kitchen. I'm sitting on a barstool next to the kitchen island enjoying a cup of blood tea.

A few drops of Aziel's yummy blood mixed in with my chamomile tea is the best. Nothing helps me get to sleep faster.

"Is everything okay?" I ask him, hoping I'm not stepping on any toes.

"Yeah. Minnie is a new vampire. She's recently changed and it hasn't been easy, especially with my father Severide here being the grump he is right now."

"Severide?"

He waves me away. "Long story. How are you adjusting?"

I lift a shoulder and take a sip of tea. "I'm great. It's odd not being in Purgatory and fighting every single second. It takes some adjusting," I chuckle. "But I'm really good. Thank you for opening your home to me. I know that can't be easy allowing another person in when your coven has grown so much."

He opens the cabinet, grabs a mug, and puts on the kettle to heat water for his own tea. "I don't mind. I love that fated mates are coming to us, and I love being a safe place for other paranormals when they feel like they have nowhere else to go. I know I sometimes forget about Irving, our lake monster, but Maven made some upgrades to his lake, and he is having a blast. We probably won't see him until winter."

"I don't think I've met him yet."

"You will in time," he says. "But that's not all that's on your mind. What else is there, Elouise? You aren't at ease."

"Isn't it wild how he always knows that?" Aziel wraps his human arms around me, and I turn to him immediately, wanting to see how handsome he is in this form.

I push the silver piece of hair framing his face behind his ear before tracing his jaw.

I never knew I could love someone so much the way I love him. He consumes me.

"Out with it," Master Monreaux says, pouring the hot water into his mug.

Sighing, I lean my head against Aziel. "My best friend Iggy. He left Purgatory with Aziel. Since his bones were still here, he was able to reclaim them and have a second chance at life."

"And that's bad?"

"No!" I shout at my new Master. "I mean, no. It isn't bad. I'm so happy for him but I don't know where he is. I don't know if he is safe. I have no way of finding him." I trace the rim of the mug with my finger. "I miss him."

"I'll see what we can do about finding your friend. I promise."

"He's a male omega," Aziel inserts, rubbing soothing circles on my back.

Master Monreaux's brows raise. "So he could be in a lot of danger if we don't find him. I'll make some calls and see what we can do."

My eyes water from being so grateful, so relieved. "Thank you so much. Thank you."

"If he is your friend, he is family now. Just like you. I'll see if Maven can't try to figure out where he is with a location spell. Sometimes she needs something personal to connect with who she is searching for which I don't think you have."

I shake my head.

"We'll figure it out." Alexander makes a separate cup of tea. "I'm going out to find Minnie. I am her maker so the only person she might listen to is me. If you'll excuse me."

Aziel opens the door for Master Monreaux since his hands are full. We watch as he heads over to Minnie who is sitting on the swing on the porch, staring out into the field with tears dripping down her face.

"Come on, My Light. Let me rub your back until you fall asleep."

"Can I just cuddle you and softly feed from you? I want to be close to you."

"You better. You know the only way I can fall asleep these days is with your fangs in me. Let's me know you're close." He takes my hand and leads me through the living room upstairs.

I blush as I climb up the stairs. "It's the only way I can sleep too."

"Plus, I need to make sure you don't run away."

I stop at the top of the steps and bring his hand to my chest. "The only person I'm running to is you, Beloved."

He dips me over his knee, one hand on the back of my head, and kisses me until I can no longer think straight.

I'm not sure how my life went from fighting in Purgatory to kissing my beloved in our home, but it's a life I never want to give up.

This is where I belong. Where I've always belonged.

The End.
