Prologue
T he goddess waved her hand, causing the image in the lake to disappear. She smiled softly to herself, knowing that her plan had been put into action.
While all her people were gifted with fated soul mates, some accepted it easier than others. Luckily for the goddess, she didn't always need to intervene, otherwise she'd never have time for anything else, even with infinity stretched out before her.
Sometimes, however, her people were a little more stubborn than others and she had to step in. The goddess knew it was frowned upon, and Mother would not be pleased, but really, she didn't know what Mother expected. She was the one who gifted those who worshipped her with fate's gift of love. Didn't she want to make sure her patrons actually received that gift?
The goddess walked away from the water, pleased with her intervention. She'd known she'd have to go to drastic measures for this one, as this particular witch did everything in his power to avoid people altogether and had no interest in claiming a mate.
But the goddess knew that the match was perfect. Not only that, it was inevitable. These two together would change the world, at least her little witch's realm. Still, the goddess saw the other path and knew that the witch would eventually have to give in to faith or all that would follow would be death and destruction. He needed to find a way to open his heart to love and give his mate a chance.
But first, they had to meet. That was one thing the goddess never understood. Why would Mother gift her people with such a wonderful boon but make it so not everyone could find each other? Like in this case. They weren't even in the same realm!
Luckily, the mate was easier to manipulate than the witch. One simple portal where it shouldn't be, and the goddess's plan was set into action.
Now she just had to sit back and hope the stubborn witch didn't make things too difficult.
