Epilogue
Cyrus
18 Months Later
Once I pulled Dante's shorts up, he waved his hands, knowing it was time to go and play again.
"Da-da, Da-da, Da-da," he sang.
My son, Dante, looked exactly like his mother, which meant he looked like Alejandro, who had laughed uncontrollably when he came to see us all in the hospital. We chose his name because it meant enduring . There had been no complications with Rose, and she was an exemplary big sister. I hoped that still held true when he hit his terrible twos stage.
"Yes, Daddy is taking you outside," I said, lifting him up to hold him.
Since it was sunny, we had a family barbecue this Sunday instead of the usual dinner at Alejandro's house. The kids loved having everyone at our house for a change. I held Dante in one arm and looked out of the window, where there was laughter, family and love. Dante began to wriggle around, and I kissed his dark hair before taking him downstairs. I hoped the kids were tired out tonight so I could focus on the next Wicke.
As soon as I got to the grass, I put Dante down and watched him run towards the other kids. I sighed because he was growing up, and we would be potty training him soon. The cute diaper waddle would be gone.
I glanced at Emilia, who lay by the pool with Valeria. Serafina was with Rose and Sapphire doing their nails. She had Emilia's cousins waiting in line so they could have theirs done. Harrison sat on a chair and was instructing Alejandro on how to cook. I grinned at my father-in-law's frustrated face and made my way towards them.
"Do you need a hand, Dad?" I asked as I fist-bumped Harrison.
"I'd rather stick these burning coals in my eyes," he said without looking at me.
I had a high-tech, wood-smoking barbecue grill, yet he insisted on using coals. For all of our banter we had a lot in common, not that he would ever admit it.
"That's fine by me," I said as I stripped my T-shirt off and went towards the pool.
As soon as Emilia saw me, her eyes ran over my body. She wore a bright red bikini, so I was just as bad. Her tits always looked amazing in that bikini.
Valeria turned to see what she was looking at and grinned when she saw me.
"Where is Dante?" Emilia asked with a smile.
"Changed and playing with the kids in the play area. He might be in line for some nail polish from your Mum," I said as I climbed onto her sun lounger beside her and kissed her before putting my arm around her waist.
"How's your illicit work doing?" Valeria asked.
"Growing. My front man handles the majority of the work now," I said.
"That's good, or you would be travelling a lot," she said before she lay back down and put her sunglasses on.
Emilia still helped in running the victim side and Cole ran the mercenaries for me. It was something that I would always support. The odd time I would take out people from the U.K., it didn't matter where you were in the world. Evil loomed everywhere. Far too many women and children went missing.
"Tonight's the night, Angel," I whispered in her ear as my hand down from her hip to her thigh.
"What did I miss? What's happening tonight?" She asked as she turned to look at me.
"Your ovulation. It's time to breed your ripe cunt again," I whispered.
She looked puzzled for a moment before she frowned at me.
"Did you put those fucked up drugs in my water again?"
"Vitamins," I said, correcting her with a grin plastered on my face.
Her frown deepened, but then her face relaxed, and her dark eyes softened. She got a dreamy look in her eyes.
"I'd love to have another baby," she said. "Dante is growing up too fast."
"I know, Angel," I murmured.
"I love you, Cyrus. You always know what I need."
Under the warmth of the sun and surrounded by our family, I kissed my wife, the only woman who loved me, knowing that I was a stone-cold killer.
The End.
