Epilogue

Koda foundme hiding in the pantry.

"What are you doing?"

"Mshng." My mouthful of chips made it kind of unclear.

He sat down beside me. "What did they do now?"

I swallowed and grimaced. "Threatened to take me to the zoo."

"That doesn't seem so bad."

"It is when you accidentally walked in on them going at it on the couch." I didn't think any amount of bleach would save me from that image.

"In their defense, they have thirty-five years to make up for."

"I know," I groaned. "But couldn't they do it in a bed with the door closed like normal people?"

"They're not normal."

No shit. A chimera for a mom and a demi-god for a dad. "I can't wait until they get their own place."

"How long before the house next door is finished?"

Before anyone laughed at them being so close, it took me having a tantrum before they agreed on separate households because their initial plan was to have me live with them in Abe's house, which I'd been given by the CA as an apology for his actions. Living in the same house? Running into them making out everywhere? Hell to the no.

"The contractor said a month, but I'm pretty sure I can bribe some gnomes to go in at night to hurry up the job."

Koda laughed, a sound that never failed to lighten my mood, but then again, everything about him made me happy. "It won't be long. We'll survive."

"Will we, though?" I whined. I leaned my head on his shoulder. "Pretty sure this wasn't what you signed up for when you asked me to marry you." A marriage proposal that came suspiciously quick after my dad's "talk" with him. Koda swore he did it of his own volition. I had my doubts, but I also knew how much he loved me.

"I don't know. I mean, yeah, your parents are nuts, but I kind of like the way I never know what's going to happen next. Keeps me on my toes."

"Personally, I'd like to never hear again what happens after ‘Oh, Big K, give it to me harder.'"

His bark of laughter led to us being discovered. The door to the pantry opened, and my parents stood there looking disheveled but at least wearing clothes.

They beamed at me. "Ready to visit the animals in the zoo?"

Actually, I was. I had my picture taken with the llama. Let my dad buy me all the junk food. I even fed the cute baby goats. As for Koda, he managed to get banned for climbing past some safety enclosures to pet a red panda so he could have it as another shape.

Best day ever!

When we got home, it was to find a pair of visitors.

The giant black dogs lay on the front step, a mangled mail bag between them.

"Not again," I muttered. "You know it's a federal offense to mess with the postal service, right?" I chided.

The pair of hounds lolled their tongues before shifting, which led to my dad bellowing, "Clothes now or I will neuter you both!"

Orion slapped his hands over his junk. "Dude. Chill. We're only staying for a minute. Wanted to let you know we're taking off. Hekate's got a new mission for us."

The goddess had been quiet of late. Then again, I didn't have much need of her now that I had family.

"Where is she sending you now?" I asked.

Ambrose grimaced. "To babysit a human."

"In Canada!" Orion bounced. "Always wanted to ride a moose and sleep in an igloo."

"Sounds like it could be fun."

"I don't like the cold," Ambrose grumbled.

"On that, we agree. Makes my massive penis turtle," Orion woefully confided, which earned him a growl from both my dad and Koda.

"I'm sure you'll be fine," I soothed.

Famous last words. It appears that Orion and Ambrose are about to go on a wild adventure with a human who will twist them up into knots and challenge their friendship. Will they learn to share the woman they both love? Find out in Earth's Triangle.
