Ihave fed my female, and I have told her I will protect her. I'm by her side, providing her with warmth. But Coral still isn't responding.

I guess I should be thankful she hasn't tried to bite me. Given my rut is roaring through me like a headwind, I'm not entirely sure whether I can contain it long enough to get to the control room, especially if she continues to smell as delicious as she does.

Up ahead, there is light, and I move past Coral, who makes noises my cock struggles to ignore.

There is a large cavern, open to what is not quite sky but provides light. It's filled with lush vegetation around a deep aquium. Winds blow through from a number of passages and rustle the larger trees.

"What is this place?" Coral asks as she steps out into the light, blinking.

I check the map-cube and growl a little. "It's not marked. We should leave."

Coral is on her knees next to the water, swirling her hand in the crystal clear liquid.

"Why? Drega basically said they haven't physically explored these caverns, so how would they know what is and isn't here? I think it's lovely, and I want to spend the night."

I open my mouth, but she's already taking off her pack, sitting down, and pulling off her boots. Before I have time to think, she's dangling her feet in the water with a soft sigh which makes my cock emerge from my pouch.

"I thought you couldn't swim," I say, resisting the urge to fling off my pants and dive into the water.

"This isn't swimming and my feet hurt," Coral replies, leaning back on her hands and tilting her face up to the rapidly diminishing light.

"That wasn't the question, Drasus."

"All Sarkarnii males are taught how to pleasure a female, how to avoid being envenomated during mating, and how to ensure she is happy with our prowess." I poke at the fire with a claw. "We are not taught how to speak to a female or to understand her." I add under my breath.

"You've learned about females, but you've never been with one?" Coral's little brow is gloriously furrowed.

"Some males wait until they rut…" I reply. Her gaze has hardened. I expose my fangs. "I have been with females…but not while in rut," I add hastily.

"If you were tired, you should have said to stop," Coral says.

My eyes spring open. "Not tired." My tongue doesn't want to co-operate and she's suddenly beside me.

"Here." She pushes a canteen into my hand. "Drink."

"You first." I shove the canteen back at her.
