Wilson
I pace back and forth in my private office at home. Ten minutes pass, and then an hour, and then two. The doorknob turns. Reece and Sabrina come into the room, and I look up in surprise. I didn’t even smell them coming. I didn’t even notice. This goes to show just how distracted I’ve allowed this threat with Thunderstorm to become. A good clan leader is always on top of things. We haven’t even flown yet, and I’m already letting my people down.
“What are you doing here?” I ask them. “I thought you were going to stay home.” Translation: I thought they were going to stay safe. Reece can protect Sabrina at our house, which is a miniature fortress these days. If we wander out into the woods, we’ll be putting more people at risk than we need to. I’m the clan leader. I have to go to Thunderstorm. Reece and Sabrina don’t.
“You’re going to wear a hole in the floor,” Reece says. He laughs, but it’s a quiet sort of laugh. We all know that this is a serious situation. We all know something bad is going to happen if we’re not careful. Walking into any sort of situation involving poachers or missing shifters is dangerous, but our complete lack of preparedness makes this even worse.
“I’m scared,” I say. My words surprise me, but Reece and Sabrina exchange knowing looks. They expected this, I realize. Reece and I share Sabrina as our mate. The three of us are one complete unit. Together, we can do anything. Together, we can move mountains. Our love is strong, but I don’t know if it’s strong enough to stop this threat, and I don’t know if it’s strong enough to help me calm down.
They know, though. They believe in us.
Instantly, the two of them wrap their arms around me.
“We’re going to be right there with you,” Sabrina says.
“You should stay behind.” I can’t handle the idea of losing her.
“That’s not going to happen,” Reece says. “Where you go, we go. You know how this works.”
“And I know that as the clan leader, sometimes I have to take meetings you can’t come to.”
“This isn’t one of those times,” Sabrina says. She places her hands gently on my chest. “I’m going to be here right you. We both are.” She pauses for a moment. “The people of Thunderstorm may need physical help. You can give them that. They might need emotional support, too. That’s where I come in.”
She’s right, and I don’t want her to be.
“I’ll protect her, Wilson,” Reece says. “And we’ll both protect you .”
“That shouldn’t be as comforting as it is.” I let out a long sigh. They laugh and embrace me a little more tightly.
“What do we know about the situation?” Reece asks when he finally pulls back.
“Three dragons have been taken,” I say. “The areas they were snatched are all close to Clan Thunderstorm.”
“How far away is the clan?” Sabrina asks.
“By air? A day. Maybe two depending on the weather.”
“We’ll need to travel close to the trees,” Reece points out. “If someone has been poaching dragons, I don’t want you flying too high. You need to stay low.”
“You can ride on me,” I tell Reece. “You and Sabrina both.”
“No.” He shakes his head. “I’ll run. She can ride on my back. You need to get there faster than we do. You need to focus on taking care of Clan Thunderstorm. If you’re worried about keeping us safe, you’re going to fly slower.”
“He’s right,” Sabrina agrees. “So, we know that three dragons were taken. Did they tell you anything else about these poachers?”
“They know we fought Lucky years ago.” Four years ago. Four years, and we all thought we were in the clear. Thunderstorm had their own run-ins with Lucky, but ever since we took down the head honcho, the world of shifters has been quiet. “They wonder if this could be some sort of off-shoot.”
“Like a Lucky team member who went rogue?” Reece asks.
“Something like that. Lucky created Dragon-X. They worked on poisoning dragons, and then selling the cure. What are the chances that they’ve come back?”
“The chances are low,” Sabrina says. “It’s been a long time, Wilson. I don’t think this is them. It’s probably something different.”
Sabrina’s opinion is always well-respected, but I don’t know if she’s right this time. She’s an expert at dealing with people and with trauma, but this situation feels uncomfortable for me. I think that I’m missing something, but I don’t know what.
“Lucky pissed off a lot of shifters,” I say. “We also pissed off a lot of them. We suspected that when we flamed the queen bee and killed her, they were going to vanish. If there were any scientists or employees left, they’d just naturally disappear.”
“What if they didn’t?” Reece asks. “What if they’re back?”
“That’s what we have to find out,” I say. “At dawn, we leave to head to Clan Thunderstorm. Those dragons have tech, and they have brains. We’re the ones who have the bronze, though. We can do whatever it takes to fight with them.”
“I know you think we might be too late,” Sabrina says, placing a hand on my arm, “but we’re not.”
“We’re leaving in the morning because it seems safer,” I admit. “I don’t like the idea of traveling in the dark without knowing what we could be facing.”
“Then it’s the right call,” she says. “You know how to do this, Wilson. You know how to make the tough choices.”
“You trust me more than you should, love.” I’ve been the clan leader for a long time, but I’ve been something else, too. I’ve been her mate. And I know that Sabrina and Reece and I are going to be together forever. Long after we solve this threat, it’ll be us. We’ll be growing old together even when the rest of the world falls apart.
Or maybe I’ll die young because I didn’t know how to save the dragons.
“Reece,” Sabrina says softly, “I think Wilson needs some attention.”
“I think you’re right, love,” he murmurs. He moves so that Sabrina is standing between us. Her chest is to my front. Her back is to Reece’s front. She presses up on her tiptoes, and she kisses me.
“Wilson, close your eyes,” she says. “It’s time to forget.”
She’s right, I know, and nobody is better at helping me forget than Sabrina. Reece runs his hands down her shoulders, while I cup her face. I kiss her like nothing else in the world matters, and she groans, wiggling between us.
“Oh, I think she’s hungry for us,” Reece says.
“I am,” Sabrina whispers. Her hands are on my chest, and she slides them down. Slowly, she begins to stroke me over the pants. It’s easy to forget my troubles when I have a beautiful woman to focus on.
Her arousal is building. The scent of her sweet, sexual perfume fills the air, and it’s enough to make Reece and I both want to go crazy.
“Devour her,” he says, urging me on, and that’s exactly what I plan to do. Bit by bit, Reece and I undress Sabrina. It doesn’t take long for her shirt, her pajama pants, and her panties to land on the floor. She’s naked between us, but we’re only just getting started.
“On your knees,” I tell her, and she instantly drops down. She keeps her hands on my thighs, and she looks up at me. Then, without a word, she leans her head forward, nuzzling me over the pants.
“I think she wants you to take your pants off,” Reece says. He lowers himself behind her and begins to rub her back, massaging her shoulders as Sabrina continues to press her mouth to me.
“Please,” Sabrina says. “I don’t want anything between us, Wilson.”
I don’t want that either, so I oblige. I lose the shirt, and then I get rid of my pants. Soon it’s just me in front of her with nothing separating us at all. She leans forward, sliding my cock deep in her throat, and she groans.
“That’s it,” Reece says. “Be a good girl, Sabrina.” He slides his hand into her hair, guiding her down. “You can take more, baby. Take it all.”
His words are enough to almost make me fall apart right then. I can tell that Sabrina feels the same way. She’s on her knees with her thighs apart, and she’s never looked so damn hot. Reece reaches around for her pussy, and he starts to stroke her.
“Focus,” he tells us both. “You both need this, and you’re going to take everything you’re getting.”
As Sabrina’s arousal builds, she sucks me harder, faster. I wanted to make love to her tonight, but now I realize that this is as far as we’re going to get, and I’m okay with that. I thrust forward, slipping deeper into her throat, and her groan is almost enough to make me fall apart.
“Come for us,” Reece says. “Sabrina, come for Wilson. He needs to feel you pulsing on his dick, so he can fill you up with his cum.”
His words are an aphrodisiac, and they do the trick. A moment later, she’s throbbing, gripping me with pleasure, melting even deeper onto me, and that’s it.
I lose control right then and there.
The orgasm that washes over me is enough to make my entire body ache with pleasure, and I fill her mouth up as the last remnants of her own climax claim her. Sabrina looks up at me, smiles, and swallows. Then she leans forward, and she presses a soft kiss to my balls. She licks them for a moment before looking up at me.
“That was so fucking hot,” she says.
“You both looked great,” Reece agrees.
Sabrina turns to him, cupping his face.
“You didn’t come yet,” she reminds him. I walk slowly to a chair, sit down, and relax as I watch her take care of him. Sabrina has such a beautiful heart, but she’s also hot as hell. I love watching her play with Reece. The two of them truly do complete me. There was a time when I thought I’d lost everyone who would ever love me, but the two of them showed me that there’s more to life.
Now, as I watch her push him down on the floor, I feel a sense of satisfaction wash over me. Sabrina strips him down, and then she settles on him. Their lovemaking is simple, but no less hot. She rides him in the middle of the office floor, grinding deeper and deeper on him. He thrusts up into her, gripping her hips. He growls at her as he gets closer.
Sabrina leans down. “Come for me, Reece,” she purrs into his ear.
And he does.
The moment is perfect, serene, and it is the best way to end the night.
Today, we celebrate our love, but tomorrow, we save Thunderstorm.
