CHAPTER 4

RILEY

A few days later, I shifted in my seat, enjoying the delicious ache in my hips while also trying to find a more comfortable position on the metal chair. Was it possible to pull a muscle down there?

Across from me, Colton was trying but failing to hide his smirk as he sipped his coffee. I rolled my eyes at him. "Wipe that smirk off your face, Anderson," I scolded.

He smiled, "What? I'm not allowed to enjoy the fact I made my baby girl happy?"

I rolled my eyes again even as warmth speared through me at his words. Even though this was just a vacation fling, Colton had been nothing but a gentleman the last few days even if each night ended in me screaming his name as he brought me to the most intense orgasms of my life. It was going to suck to go back to my vibrator and lonely apartment after the last few days of sun and sex.

"What's on the agenda today?" I asked, as I sipped my own coffee, pushing my empty yogurt and granola bowl towards the side of the table.

"Was thinking of staying close to the hotel today. We could check out one of the pools?" The resort boasted seven pools from a large main one with water slides to a few smaller ones designed to be little oasis.

"Works for me," I said. A day at the pool sounded really nice right about now. "Do you mind if I bring my laptop to get a little writing done?" I was woefully behind on my manuscript even if it wasn't due to my editor for months now. I didn't like being this far behind. "Someone has been distracting me the last few days."

Colton smirked again. "Of course not. I'll protect you from any distractions."

"Like you aren't the biggest one," I teased.

Like every morning, he stood and offered his hand, holding the door open for me as we exited the cafe and made the short walk back to the hotel. While I was up in my room, I tidied up quickly before changing into my swimsuit and grabbing my laptop. We had bounced back and forth between rooms the last few days and it was a bit of a mess as a result.

Downstairs, Colton slipped his phone into his pocket when he saw me exit the elevator. "Making sure the business is still standing?" I questioned, wondering who he was texting. I shoved that thought down though as soon as I had it. I didn't have any right to ask him.

"Yep," Colton said, slipping his hand in mine. "Justin was just sending me an update."

I had heard a lot about Justin the last few days and it was clear that he and Colton were close. I was a little jealous of their friendship to be honest. Ryan was probably the closest thing I had to a best friend but he still worked for me so there was always a part of me that wondered if he didn't work for me would we still be friends. Anxiety is a bitch.

We found one of the smaller pools away from the hustle and bustle of the main area. Palm trees grew around it, creating a barrier between us and the outside world. Another couple had set up at the far end but they looked to be sleeping. Colton set up the umbrella as I spread out my towel on one of the loungers. Warmth filled me as he remembered that I didn't enjoy baking in the sun. He was definitely setting a new standard for my dating life when I headed home.

I pushed away the thoughts of home as I opened my laptop. I needed to get at least three thousand words in to feel better about missing the last few days and I was determined to get it done. Even with the umbrella covering me, the warm air wrapped around me like a cocoon or a warm blanket. I shook off the drowsiness that threatened to have my eyelids closing. I had to finish this. I started typing, the words struggling from my fingers and evidence of the break I had taken. I blinked slowly when I finished the first thousand words. I was just going to shut my eyes for a little bit.

The next thing I know, Colton was shaking me awake. I blinked my eyes open, and he smiled gently at me. "You zonked out," he said softly, skimming his fingertips along my jaw. "I rescued your laptop and set it there." He pointed to the table next to me. His hair was wet like he had taken a dip in the pool while I slept.

I sat up slowly, blinking against the bright afternoon sun as I tried to focus. "What time is it?"

"A little after lunchtime. I tried to wake you but you growled at me."

"I did not!" I said covering my face with my hands, mortified. I was not the pleasantest to wake up.

He laughed. "It was a cute growl if that helps."

I slumped back on the lounger. "I'm not sure it does."

"Well it should. It was adorable," he advised me. "But you slept through lunch so I ordered you some fruit for when you woke up."

A bowl of fruit sat next to my laptop and again I was touched by his thoughtfulness. Colton was effortlessly raising my standards and he didn't even know it. "Thanks, I am a little hungry. Sorry for falling asleep on you."

"You needed the rest. Someone's been keeping you up late." He smirked and I rolled my eyes. He grabbed the bowl of fruit before I could and lifted a piece of juicy pineapple to my lips. My eyebrows arched but I let him feed me, my tongue licking the juices off his fingers. His eyes darkened but he lifted another piece of fruit to my mouth. He fed me until the bowl was empty. I expected him to act on my teasing but he put the bowl to the side and offered me a hand. "Care for a swim?"

I cared for something else but a swim would work too.

The water was cool against my skin and helped tame some of the desire that was dancing inside me. We soaked up the last of the rays of the afternoon sun before drying off and eating dinner at the hotel restaurant. Colton was attentive and affectionate but when we got to the door of my room he hesitated when I invited him inside.

"What is it?" I asked, uncertainty churning my gut. I bit the inside of my cheek. Was our vacation fling coming to an end?

"I don't want you to feel pressured if you're sore," he confessed softly.

I blushed. I was worried he was ending it and he was worried about me. "A little bit but in the best of ways," I teased. "Besides, we only have a few more days together and I want to make the most of it."

Something I couldn't quite read flashed across Colton's face before he dipped his head to kiss me. I pressed up on my tiptoes and put my hands around his neck, bringing our bodies closer together. I tried to commit the feel of his lips against mine to memory before I had to go back to reality in my lonely apartment in Minneapolis.

Without breaking our kiss, he plucked the key card from the back pocket of my shorts and opened my door. He guided me to the bed without bumping into anything and I squealed when he grabbed me by the hips and tossed me onto the bed. He smirked at me before tugging on one of my ankles until my hips were at the end of the bed. I shimmied out of my skirt and he groaned when he realized I was bare underneath. I hadn't wanted to wear a wet swimsuit through dinner but I had never been without underwear before. It was totally worth it to see the look on his face. He ran his fingers over my center, gently pushing one inside me. Despite my best efforts, I bit my lip. Okay, maybe he was right, I was a little sore.

He arched his eyebrows knowingly at me and dropped to his knees. I shifted to my elbows but he put a hand on my stomach. "Let me help you out, baby girl. Besides, I'm craving something sweet after dinner."

I fell backwards when he licked a long stripe up my center, circling his tongue around my clit before repeating the motion. I bucked my hips as his tongue found my clit again. "That's it," he purred against me. "Just lay there and let me take care of you, baby girl."

I groaned. Dirty talk from a guy was one of the biggest turn-ons for me and Colton didn't disappoint. Colton's tongue found my entrance and he slipped it inside. I bucked my hips and his hands came around my thighs to hold my hips down and keep my legs spread. I had one boyfriend awkwardly go down on me in college but it was nothing like this. Colton gave head like he enjoyed it. I shuddered when he focused on my clit again.

"Please," I gasped out, feeling the orgasm building.

"I got you, baby girl. Come for me, now."

I cried out his name when the orgasm slammed into me, my body shaking as lights danced behind my eyes. Every muscle trembled and ached in the most delicious war. When I finally caught my breath, I only had one thought.

"There's no way you're real. There's no straight white man who isn't a fictional character talks like this. You have to be a robot." I said, no brain to mouth filter while the orgasm still scrambled my brain .

Colton grinned as he propped himself up on his elbows. "Well, you're wrong in one assumption there."

"What?"

"That I'm straight."

My eyes widened and I propped myself on my elbows. "Wait really?"

The grin stayed on his face even as it dampened slightly as if he was cautious about my reaction. "Yes, really. I guess the technical term is bisexual although for me it really depends on the person."

"Well that does explain how you're so perfect," I teased, subtly letting him know I was totally fine with it. Ryan was bisexual as well although he had been happily committed to his boyfriend Aaron for six years now.

He grinned. "I don't know about that but I've been taught well."

"Have you had many relationships with other guys?" I asked before my brain caught up with me. "Wait, you don't need to answer that. Sorry."

"It's fine. Not many. Not a lot of options in a small town like Oakville. But a few at college."

I nodded. "Well I'm glad I solved the mystery of how you're so perfect. That would have bothered me for weeks."

He laughed and tugged me closer. "Not perfect, but I'm always trying to step up my game. For instance," He tugged my hips down until I laid flat on the bed again, "Let me try again."
