Chapter 25
Violet
I can’t believe this is actually happening. Our eyes lock as Callum pushes fully inside of me. It’s an incredible moment. It’s as if we’re connected in ways that I’ve never experienced. Staring into his heated eyes as he stares into mine, it feels like our souls find each other and they connect like our bodies are.
My thoughts are quickly diverted when he lets out a deep moan. He’s big, so much bigger than I’m used to. I’m being stretched like never before and it feels so good, even though he’s not moving.
“Your pussy is so tight, I don’t want to hurt you,” he groans as his fingers dig into my hips.
“You aren’t going to hurt me. Start moving, Callum, I need you.”
The fire that ignites in his eyes is sexy as hell. My words were just what he needed to hear because his fingers sink deeper into my flesh as he starts to move. He pulls out agonizingly slow and pushes in just as slowly. It feels amazing but it makes me want, no, it makes me need more.
I drag my nails down his back and grab onto his ass. “Move like you mean it, cowboy.”
“Fuck,” he growls. “You want it hard and fast?”
“Yes, please,” I beg, unashamed as I push my hips against his.
“Hold on tight,” he warns, moving his hands from my hips and grabbing a hold of the headboard.
I grin at his warning, but it quickly fades as he uses the resistance of the headboard to drive into me. He pounds into me at a speed that I’ve never felt before.
It makes it impossible to not cry out in pleasure. “Oh my God!”
“You asked for it, Violet. You wanted me to move like I meant it, and fuck, do I mean it,” he groans as he continues to slam into me.
The feelings he’s evoking in my body and my heart are new to me and I’m starting to crave both. It’s thrilling and terrifying.
“Open your eyes.”
Not even realizing my eyes drifted shut, I snap them open. Callum is staring down at me as his arms flex with the strength he’s using to drive into me. His solid chest rubs against my hard nipples. His body moves at a skilled rhythm that is sexy as hell to watch.
“You feel so good wrapped around me, squeezing me tighter with each push. I want your release, Violet,” he growls before leaning down and sucking on my neck.
His deep sexy voice rumbles through me as I feel my body on the edge of falling. “I’m so close,” I cry out, digging my nails into his skin trying to stay as close as possible.
He lets go of the headboard and moves his hand between us. The second his fingers make contact with my clit, my body lifts off the mattress.
“Let go, Violet. Get out of your head and let your body take charge,” Callum demands.
Sometimes it’s like we’re still getting to know each other and then he says something like that, like he knows me so well and I question everything. But he’s right, I need to get out of my head and I do just that.
I focus on his dark eyes as they search mine. I focus on the way my heart is pounding in my chest and the way my body reacts to everything he’s doing to me.
He pinches my bundle of nerves as he slams into me and that’s it. I fall over the cliff and hold onto Callum like he’s my lifeline.
“Callum!” I shout, keeping my eyes locked with his.
“Fuck, Violet, that’s it. So fucking sexy, so beautiful.”
My orgasm stretches on as I feel Callum stiffen before whispering my name over and over.
His release crashes through his system, causing him to jolt and jerk, and it’s a beautiful sight. He collapses next to me, pulling me into his arms. I rest my head on his chest, my ear pressed against him, listening to the steady beat of his heart. It’s racing, a rhythm that matches the one pulsing inside of me. His arms are wrapped around me, warm and solid, and I feel completely enveloped in his embrace. There’s a security here, a sense of being protected that I hadn’t realized I craved so deeply.
His hand moves slowly up and down my back, and I can feel his breath stirring the hair near my temple. Each movement feels natural, effortless, like we’ve done this a thousand times before. I close my eyes, savoring the moment, allowing myself to sink into this feeling. It’s magical, almost surreal. I’ve never felt so connected to someone, so completely at ease and yet so thrillingly alive at the same time.
“That was… wow,” I whisper, moving my hand up and down his side.
“That’s an understatement.” He kisses the top of my head and I tilt my head to look at him. “That was earth-shattering.”
I smile, pushing up on my elbows until my lips are a whisper away from his. “It sure was.” I press my lips to his and his strong arms hold me close.
I could stay like this forever.
Completely sated, naked, and pressed against my husband.
Wow, that thought slams into me. My husband . I have a husband who I’m quickly falling for.
Callum and I fell asleep in the same bed last night and I hate to admit that it was one of the best night's sleep I’ve ever had.
Now, we are just finishing up breakfast before I need to head out and start my day. I told Callum he didn’t need to get up, but he insisted. It’s sweet and I’m glad because I don’t want to be away from him. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad, but it’s how I feel.
“I know you have to go check on Atta Boy, but are you coming back early?” I ask, sipping my coffee.
“I called Brock and Shepherd. They’re gonna give me an update, so I’m all yours today,” he says, leaning back in his chair with a grin on his handsome face.
I smile and lift an eyebrow. He’s helped me fix a fence. I’ve taught him to muck the stalls. But I haven’t shown him how to care for the horses. The grooming, the feeding, the exercising. If he’s going to be here, he should know everything about this ranch.
“Today I’m going to teach you everything about the horses.” I stand up and put my cup in the sink. “Let’s go, Cowboy Callum.”
He laughs as he stands up. “I might not be an expert at handling and riding horses, but I’m damn good at riding my wife,” he says, grabbing me from behind and kissing my neck.
It sends a shot of electricity through my body and I squeal with surprise. He’s not wrong though.
“Let’s see what you’ve got, cowboy.”
We step outside, and the morning air is fresh and cool, filled with the scent of hay and the soft sounds of horses shifting in their stalls. I take Callum’s hand and lead him toward the barn, feeling a surge of excitement about sharing this part of my world with him.
“So, first things first,” I say, guiding him over to one of my favorite horses, a sleek chestnut mare named Starfire. “Grooming. It’s not just about looking good; it keeps their coat healthy and builds trust.”
He watches as I grab a curry comb and start brushing in slow, circular motions along Starfire's back. “Here, give it a try,” I say, handing him the brush. His fingers wrap around mine for a second as he takes it, and I feel my heart skip a beat.
Callum mimics my motions, surprisingly gentle with Starfire, and I watch as he gains confidence. There’s something oddly satisfying about watching him take such care with her, his rough hands moving smoothly over her coat. I find myself smiling as I watch the two of them.
“This is relaxing,” he says, glancing at me with a grin. “Maybe I should add horse groomer to my resume.”
“Oh, so you think you’re a natural, huh?” I tease. “We’ll see about that. Let’s move on to feeding.”
We walk over to the feed room, where I explain the importance of different types of feed and hay, showing him the mixture I’ve prepared for the horses. Callum listens carefully, asking questions and making sure he understands. It’s endearing, really, to see him take this so seriously.
After feeding Starfire and a few other horses, I decide it’s time to let Callum experience something a little more challenging—exercising one of the younger horses. We lead a lively bay stallion named Rio out to the paddock, and I explain how important it is to keep them active, especially with the younger ones like Rio.
I watch as Callum takes the reins, standing in the center of the paddock while Rio trots around him in a circle. Callum looks over at me, his expression a mix of excitement and uncertainty, and I can’t help but laugh. “You’re doing great!” I call out, encouraging him as he gets into the rhythm of working with the horse.
When we finish, we head over to the fence, leaning against it as we watch Rio kick up his heels in the paddock, clearly enjoying himself.
“You know,” I say, nudging Callum with my shoulder, “you’re pretty good at this. Maybe you’re a ranch hand at heart.”
He chuckles, pulling me close as he wraps an arm around my shoulders. "I don’t know about that, but I do know I like being out here with you,” he says, his voice soft but filled with meaning.
We stand there together, watching Rio gallop around, the dust rising up around his hooves in the golden morning light. I lean my head on Callum’s shoulder, feeling the warmth of his body beside me, and a sense of calm washes over me. For the first time in a while, everything feels right.
After a few minutes, Callum tilts his head down, his gaze focused on me. “What’s next, Boss?” he asks with a playful grin.
I laugh, loving this lighthearted side of him. “Well, I thought I’d teach you how to saddle up. It’s not just about throwing the saddle on and riding off into the sunset, you know. There’s a bit of an art to it.”
We walk back over to the barn, where I lead him to the tack room. I show him how to choose the right saddle and bridle, and explain why it’s so important to make sure everything fits just right, not just for the horse’s comfort, but for safety too. He watches me closely, taking it all in, and I can tell he’s really absorbing every detail. It’s clear he’s doing this not just for the experience, but because it matters to him.
I show him how to carefully place the saddle blanket on Starfire’s back, followed by the saddle itself, and he follows my lead. He adjusts the straps, checking the fit as I taught him, and I can’t help but feel a surge of pride at how quickly he’s picking this up.
Once Starfire is saddled up, I help him mount, giving him a quick rundown on posture and balance. He takes a deep breath, steadying himself as I lead Starfire out of the barn and into the open field. I grab the reins of another horse, jumping up into the saddle beside him, and we set off at a slow, easy pace.
The two of us ride side by side, the horses’ hooves thudding softly against the ground as we make our way across the field. The sun is climbing higher now, warming the air, and a gentle breeze rustles through the trees. It feels surreal, sharing this moment with Callum, surrounded by the beauty of the ranch.
As we reach the far edge of the pasture, I glance over at him, catching him with a look of awe on his face. “You doing okay over there?” I call out, smiling.
He laughs, nodding. “This is... fascinating. I never thought I’d be out here, doing this. It’s like I’m seeing a whole new world.”
We spend the next hour riding together, laughing and talking, the horses trotting alongside each other as if they’re as content as we are. Eventually, we make our way back to the barn, dismounting and leading the horses back to the stables. Callum brushes Starfire down, murmuring soft words to her as he does, and I can see that he’s grown attached in just a few short hours.
When we finish, we stand in the barn doorway, looking out over the fields as the day stretches on. Callum turns to me, his expression thoughtful. “Thank you for today,” he says, reaching out to tuck a loose strand of hair behind my ear. “For showing me all of this.”
I smile, feeling my heart flutter at his words. “I’m glad you came out here with me. It means a lot, you know?”
He pulls me into a hug, his arms wrapping around me as I rest my head against his chest. “I think I could get used to this,” he murmurs, pressing a kiss to the top of my head.
And as we stand here together, wrapped up in each other, I know that I already have.
