Green with Envy

Felix

W hat the fuck is she doing here? I thought Dex was kidding about giving her a job – like the guys in Hollywood make women sleep with them for jobs and then don’t hire them. If I’m going to be trapped in this job with Ms. Goody-Two-Shoes every day until I can get rid of her, I’m going to stab my eyes out with a fork.

Dex just had to go and give her a job so she wouldn’t be easy to get rid of. Unfortunately for her, I always get rid of them. He’s mine. The world can fuck right off.

“Hi, Felix,” the angelic burden practically coos when she sees me.

She can’t even keep coffee in a cup, as evidenced by the mess now on the floor. I bet she can’t dance to save her life. A simple look at her mousy hair that isn’t so feathered and fun today, and I know she’ll be gone in two weeks flat. Obviously, someone trussed her up like the prize hog at the county fair last night. My mouth moves into what I hope looks like a genuine smile and cross the room to take her hand like a true gentleman. Dex grins at me, but I don’t pay attention. This is a show for him, but I need to make it look like it’s real. That I like her.

“Hi, Nicole. I forgot you were coming.” I set down the bags full of bleach, scrubbing brushes, and coffee on one of the lobby chairs and turn to take her in.

I’m not impressed.

“Let me show you your work area,” I say, leading her to her desk. “I hope you’ll like it here. It’s good to see you again.”

My tongue hurts even saying it.

Dancing is my thing. Our thing. By “our thing” I mean Dex and me. Nowhere in there is this Nicole person. She may be fun to fuck, and I love to watch Dex’s eyes light up when we have a new partner, but I need to get rid of her pronto. She’s killing my mood and will be a complete distraction for Dex.

That’s why I have to be careful with her in my space. Sneaky. Play nice. Dex is not only my lover, boss, and roommate. He’s my best friend, and I know him like anyone else knows their best friend.

I can count on three things with Dex Holden: He gives great head, he loves unconditionally and hard when he does fall in love, and he tires easily of people he doesn’t give a shit about.

I hope this bitch is the latter .

Did I enjoy eating a pussy the other night? Yes. It’s been a long time since I’ve given a woman an orgasm so hard her toes curled into my shoulders. Would I fuck the hell out of her? Sure. Especially if Dex watches, holds her down, or lets me go second. Some men like to go first, but I like his seconds. They’re so much…wetter.

But fall in love or even do anything but tolerate her doe-eyed bullshit?

Never.

She looks down at the desk like she’s avoiding looking at me. The previous secretary left her calendar blotter on last month, so I rip the page for Nicole and wad the paper up before throwing it in the trash can. She toys with the pens in the container and throws one with a chewed cap into the garbage. I can’t blame her there.

I nod around the area like I’m seeing it for the first time. “It’s not much, but it’s home. You can bring stuff in. A plant, maybe. You look like the kind to take care of plants. I bet you knit too.”

She misses my condescending tone. “Am I the only one that works here?” she asks.

Dex circles the desk and stands next to her. I can practically see the crackling energy between them, and I narrow my eyes at the space between their arms.

Don’t growl. Don’t growl. Neutral expression. She can’t know that you’ll ruin her life and send her packing if she dares do more than let Dex be an extra hole for him to use .

“We have a co-teacher that comes in to help with waltz class. The women seem to like her better. Her name is Debra. You’re the only assistant.”

“OK, so this really is my desk.” She sits in the office chair and twirls around in the seat before running her hands over the top. Dex practically preens next to me.

Fuck, he really thinks she’s adorable. I can even admit she is…to a point. She’s like a cutesy song you can’t stop singing but annoys the shit out of you that it’s stuck in your head.

“I’m going to put the supplies away,” I say, passing Dex and running my hand over his chest. His eyes flick to me, and I see love in them. Love for me. Love for our relationship. All is not lost here.

I head to the storage room, and he clears his throat. “Nicole, I don’t want you to feel awkward around us. We can all be professional. You say the word if something makes you uncomfortable.”

“I understand.” She looks around the desk and picks up the yellow phone. “Do I dial 9 to get out?”

“Nope. Just the standard seven digits. If you have to call long distance, let me know so I can put it in the budget. You mostly get calls, though. Unless I need something delivered, you won’t call out much.”

The small talk is killing me. Get rid of this little twat, Dex. I place the cleaning spray on the storage shelf a little harder than necessary .

“We’ll need you to make a pot of coffee before each class starts,” Dex directs, and Nicole looks at the percolator in the corner like it’s an obstacle course contraption she’ll have to scale. God, I hope one of the students complains about her shit coffee. Maybe Dex will fire her then.

I watch them as he shows her where things are, and I listen as he tells her how to use the phone, where to find the coffee, and where the dusters and cleaning supplies are, making sure to smile when Dex jerks his thumb in my direction. As soon as they look somewhere else, I roll my eyes.

I need to show authority here so that Nicole knows, in no uncertain terms, that Dex is mine. We share, of course, and we’ve talked about bringing someone else into the relationship for a while. Both of us eventually want children. Dex gets more successful every year, and we’ve been together so long now that I can’t remember where I begin and he ends.

But this woman is not it.

She may be seducing Dex with her innocent doe eyes and her “I don’t know how to make coffee in a percolator” bullshit, but she doesn’t fool me. She’ll end up in the dump heap like every other woman he brings home for us. We need someone confident. Someone not so needy.

I glance at her again and notice her slouched shoulders like she wants to hide from the world. I have her number. This is a woman who’s been taught to hide from the world her entire life, and she can keep on being invisible as far as I’m concerned .

Dex looks for me over his shoulder. When our eyes meet, he smiles. I know this man loves me. He loves me with his whole heart, and I love him just as fiercely. It’ll take a special woman for us both to welcome her into the life we have.

I wait until Nicole is only paying attention to Dex and has stopped fiddling with the typewriter and trying to find the correction tape. I need her to see what Dex and I have – what she’ll never have.

Without hesitation, I close the space between us and pull Dex to me, our hips flush. My hardening dick rubs against his. It’s handy we’re around the same height because I know exactly when he’s happy to see me. I nuzzle his cheek, and Nicole inhales through her nose behind me. “When you’re ready for me to show you a couple new moves I learned, come find me in the studio.”

I place a soft kiss on his bowed lips and hum as I pull away. Stalking to the studio doors, I open them and then look over my shoulder, only to find Dex following me, his eyes already hooded. Something tells me Nicole can’t drop to her knees and give Dex a perfect afternoon blow job like I plan to do as soon as I shut the studio door.

Dex knows what he’s in for as he stalks toward me. Nicole squints behind me, practically glaring, if a Suzy Sunshine can even do that. I wink at her before I close the door.

This is going to be easier than I thought.
