15. Draven

I really do enjoy watching her shuffle about. She has such a fine ass, and those legs, I have no doubt she'll give Shade and I a good run. I'm sure they can ride me nicely too, probably without needing a break. Which is good because I'm not for a quick—

"Enjoying your Friday?" Troy shouts as he dashes around me, effortlessly carrying a girl who stands at least six inches taller than him, her protests echoing through the air.

While he tries to hop like a fucking rabbit in front of me, I don't pull my gaze away from watching Max walk out with Deck, hands laced together. To be frank, as long as it's not Ben. I see the way she leans away from him, the distain she feels when that one tries to even get in a breathes proximity to her. Deck seems respectful, even though he slapped her ass. It jiggled nicely, giving me a nice show, so I'll allow it.

"Hello?" He is circling around me, with what I assume to be the girl's friend trailing behind, trying to catch him. "I'm talking to you."

I turn my gaze downward, watching him with a stupid smile elongated on his face. "Yes."

"Like what I caught at the end of the rainbow?" He smacks the girls thigh so hard I see tears immediately fill her eyes. Her shout nearly as loud as Max's when I made her come. "Where's yours?"

"You are distracting me," I drawl.

"You have incredible talent, go find her— oh! Hey now!" The girl is grabbing hold of his boxers and yanking them upward, and I can't help but find it funny they are actual rainbow colored.

Please, Troy, you are overdoing it.

I roll my eyes, and the moment he is behind me, I step out of his ritual circle. She's heading to her hotel, or whatever she's staying in. There are only two in this area, the rest are rental homes. Likely the latter is where she is staying, but I'll quickly stop at the ticket booth to find out.

"See ya, Big Guy—" I turn my head over my shoulder and narrow my gaze at him. If that name fucking sticks, I'll be punishing Max beyond what I already am this weekend. I have a few toys that will fit nicely up that ass of hers, and I'll force her to keep it there while she runs through the mazes.

Slipping my way through the dwindling crowd, I make it to the ticket booth without any more distractions. At least, none that cause me to pause to my destination.

"Grim," a young brunette says in her sweetest voice. Her bright green eyes meet mine, and I bring myself to a knee to be at her level. "Odd of you to show up here on a Friday."

I shrug my shoulders. "Need a favor, please." I like May. She's only been with us for a year but stays out of trouble. She lost her brother in a car accident she caused and has been hiding from her family ever since. No charges were ever filed, but it didn't help that she had been under the influence. Her father, a cop, kept that piece off the file.

"Sure, anything for you. What can I do?" Her freckled cheeks lift as she smiles.

"Can you pull up a file for a woman named Max? It maybe easiest to check the list of females that share the same name. My guess its short for something." Odds are not many, and if I had to guess she was likely in her mid-twenties. Everyone had to provide a headshot as well, so it shouldn't take too long. "But before that, can you hand me the laptop?" She nods, and does as I ask.

Then she gets to filtering, while I pull up the security cameras. I just need to make sure Po is still on the premises, and not missing. If so, I'll just grab Shade to hunt down my prey and not waste time looking into her file.

"Is she your prey for the weekend?"

"Mhmm."

I'm flipping through the security cameras, passing Troy still toying with those girls but now drawing a crowd. As I continue scanning, I spot the Governor's son with his friends, until Po catches my eye in the corner of one of the feeds. There he is, leaning against the outer wall of the House of Mirrors, hilt deep down some guys throat.

"Is this her?" I close the laptop, satisfied he isn't chasing what is mine .

As I gaze up, it is indeed my Max. "Maxine Andrea Deluca," May begins, speaking low enough for only me to hear. "Med student at Stanford University. Looks like she was the one that won the lottery for the weekend."

I tilt my head ever so slightly, gazing at her smile. It's forced, and again, I wonder what her life has been like to bring her here. We don't typically see Stanford students. Maybe SoCal or San Francisco State…

A soft hum releases from my throat. "Accommodations?"

She clicks the mouse and brings up the details of her accommodation, which also includes information about the others in her group. At least I'll be able to find them all easily. "Looks like they are renting a house." She points at the address, and I commit it to memory after a few readings. "Need anything else?"

"Background check?" Her jaw drops so hard, I can't help but let out a chuckle. "Kidding. I'll do that later."

"I don't think you've ever been this interested," she points out. "She's cute, any other reason?"

It's really none of her business, but she's part of my crew . "Cute? Pfft—that's mild. That isn't what pulls me to her."

"What else?" She continues to push, a sly smile crawling across her lips.

"May, that's enough." I force myself up using my knee and roll my head around on my shoulders. "Po is also sticking his nose far too close to her. Can you let the team know if they spot him with Max, to text me?"

She nods. "Testing you?"

"Doesn't he always. I think Jarv is also angry I denied his request. My guess they're both hilt deep in each other's ass at this point."

A soft giggle filters from her. "Nasty."

"Very."

"He wants your position." I glance down at her. "Po. He's tired of running his maze. He wants free reign. Everyone is talking about it."

I nod and place my hand onto the handle of the door. "He keeps it up, I'll kill him. Along with Jarvus."

She nods and goes to attend to someone approaching the ticket both. "Do you need to use the safe word?"

I'll get going to Max, I'm probably too late to watch her shower. Maybe she'll be excited enough to play with herself in bed tonight. Oh, to watch her slide those fingers into her pretty little cunt, what an image to give me before I, too, am inside of her.

I'm not sure if I'm more surprised or pissed off that she isn't at her rental. I see Sasha, curled up with a blanket draped over her legs and a pillow in her arms watching TV. I'll need to tell Max to remind her friend to close the blinds all the way. Never know what kind of creeps are out there, staring into windows freely.

After circling the house, I see Deck coming out of the shower, towel wrapped around his waist. Again, why are they leaving their blinds up?

But that's it, no Max. No Ben.

My lip twitches as I feel my anger radiating. If I find her with that little prick, I'll tie a string around his balls and the other onto a toy for Shade to fetch.

As I distance myself adequately from the house to ensure they wouldn't overhear, I release a resonant whistle into the air. Its pitch carried a distinctive fluctuation, not merely a flat tone but one tailored precisely for summoning my wolf .

I pivot on my heels and began walking back toward the carnival.

Max, I swear to Satan himself…

The distinct patter of Shade's paws draws my attention to my left, his sunflower eyes piercing through the night as if they were glowing. His low huff accompanies a downward tilt of his head, an indication for me to halt and do the same.

Moving to a knee, I bring my face to his level and outstretched my hand. "Come, I need you to hunt."

Fuck looking through the security cameras. She shouldn't be back at the carnival—she's probably out somewhere in these woods just to tick me off. Her mistake. She thought I was scary to be chased by, but Shade is on a whole different level.

Pulling out her underwear that I still have conveniently tucked into my pocket, Shade approaches without apprehension. His grey and black coat glistened softly in the faint moonlight filtering through the canopy above.

I'm surprised when he walks straight past my hand and to my face. Oh, right. He draws in a long intake of my cheek, before shoving his snout into my neck.

I'm not an affectionate person, not even with Shade, so this interaction is strange. It would appear that Max has an interesting way of effecting everyone and everything.

He yips and steps back, then, in a swift burst, darts back toward the carnival. Little Sheep, if you are anywhere near that piece of shit, I am going to hurt you and kill him.

I open my stride and jog after Shade, a million thoughts running through my head as to what the fuck she is thinking. It's obvious she either has a death wish or just doesn't fear pain and consequence. While admirable, it's stupid. Being out here where no other guests can witness something happening to her, is absolute idiocy.

I'm thankful Shade doesn't go straight into the carnival, instead he is rounding the metal barrier and heading toward the back. My eyes narrow, seeing the crew cleaning trash and beginning to turn off the lights. There are some lingering guests, and my guess is they'll be enjoying their night either fucking the crew, or each other in the attractions. Technically, there is no rule for people not to stay, it's just not advised.

We are coming up on the trailers, and I immediately notice he is bee lining it for mine.

A loud groan filters from my throat.

It's when Shade stops, and sits right at the back of it, that I'm both feeling at ease and even more angered.

My trailer is probably the biggest, minus Jarvus', but he is ostentatious so that makes sense. Mine is strictly out of need, I refused to sleep curled into a ball, and needed the width to have a California King situated at its back. Other than that, it was like all the others, white with a red and black stripe all the way around it.

I'm walking the three steps up the door when Shade whines. I look down, and he is bowing his head.

There is no fucking way he is asking to come in.

Who is this woman?

"Tomorrow. You can hunt her," I whisper, and as if he understands, he steps backward and retreats behind the trailer.
