Chapter 10

CHAPTER TEN

B aking cookies had been more fun than Chris had expected. And between that, the pajamas, the music, and Luke’s cheery attitude, he had to admit that he was having a ball. It was the best Christmas Eve he’d had in a long time.

“We don’t really need supper, right? I mean we had those hot dogs and that counts, plus it’s Christmas Eve so if we spend the whole night munching on cookies and drinking hot chocolate, that would be just fine, right?” Luke gave him a hopeful look. He looked adorable in the moose pajamas.

Chris snorted. “We’re adults. We can eat what the fuck we want.”

“Oooo, I like your attitude.” Luke poured the hot chocolate he’d just made into their mugs and filled a plate with a bunch of both kinds of cookies.

“You wanna watch a movie, or play a game?” Luke asked around the bite of snickerdoodle he was already indulging in. “We’ve got Yahtzee, Cribbage, Uno, and whatever we both know with playing cards.”

Chris took a snickerdoodle of his own as he settled on the couch. Which really was comfortable to sit in, let alone how nice it was to lie flat on the pull-out bed part. “Yahtzee?”

Luke bounced. “Yes! Oh, I have to warn you, I have crazy luck with dice. I don’t know what it is, but if the game involves throwing dice, I do pretty well.”

“Go to Vegas and make a mint at the craps table lucky?”

Luke shook his head. “I don’t like gambling. I had a friend who lost everything, including all their loved ones, because of a gambling problem. I’m not interested in going down that road.” He took another big bite of cookie.

“So no gambling, but you are going to kick my ass at Yahtzee is what you’re saying.”

“Pretty much.” Luke’s smile was irrepressible.

Chris had to admit, he wanted to lean in and give Luke a kiss. But he wasn’t going to, at least not yet. They had cookies, hot chocolate, and games to play, maybe a movie to watch. Maybe when the clock hit midnight, he’d take one, a Christmas gift to himself.

They ate easily half the cookies they’d baked, drank several cups of hot chocolate and a couple of milk as well, as Luke trounced him at Yahtzee several times.

They were on their last round of the third game, and Luke rolled three sixes. Chris shook his head, because it had been like this all evening.

“Sorry,” Luke said, shrugging. “I can’t help it.” He gathered up the two die that weren’t sixes and rolled them again, winding up with another six and a five, and as he was rolling for the total of his dice line, that was only one off the highest score he could roll.

“You don’t have to apologize. I’ve just never seen so many lucky rolls.”

“We could play something else,” Luke suggested.

“We could, but I’m pretty sure you’ve got another Christmas movie you really want to watch.”

“Well, there’s Die Hard and Lethal Weapon, but they’re both action movies too, so I didn’t want to suggest them.”

He tilted his head. “So are you just sick of Christmas movies at this point and don’t want to admit it?”

Luke laughed. “No! They are legit Christmas movies! They both take place at Christmas. It’s a part of their story.”

“If you say so.”

“There’s also a Nightmare Before Christmas. Oh, and we haven’t done The Grinch yet! But I usually go for that one first thing Christmas morning.”

“I’ve never seen the first one and I haven’t seen the Grinch in a very long time.”

“We can Grinch it up with breakfast,” Luke suggested. “And we’ll do Nightmare tonight. I can’t believe you haven’t seen it before.” He shook his head.

“I’m not sure I’ve even heard of it,” Chris admitted.

Luke looked horrified, which made him chuckle.

“I’m happy to have you rectify the situation.”

“Good, because that’s just wrong.” Luke grabbed another M they were both used to starting later in the day and having to be at work by 8:30 had thrown them both off.

“I don’t care if the bed’s not made. We’re only going to mess it up again.”

“Yeah, but I’d like to make sure my dirty undies and socks are in the basket and not on the floor. Give me a thirty-second head start.” Luke took off to his room.

Chris shook his head and stood. He made sure the door was locked and the oven was off before going to the bathroom to relieve himself. Then he made his way to Luke’s bedroom and knocked on the half-open door.

Luke tugged it open the rest of the way and grabbed his hand, pulling him in and toward the bed.

He hadn’t been in this room before, and he couldn’t help but look around. It was fairly neat, with a bed—bigger than a double at least so there would be plenty of room for both of them—a chair by the window with a blanket on it, and a dresser next to the closet. The only light was from a little lamp on the bedside table.

They stood by the bed, holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes. He thought it might be awkward. The original kiss had been spontaneous, but now they’d both had time to think about it.

It wasn’t awkward.

Luke licked his lips, then leaned up, and Chris leaned down and they were kissing again. Luke still tasted good, and Chris wrapped his arms around him, tugging him close for a moment.

He was taller, but they fit pretty well together, bodies touching.

Luke slid his hands beneath the bottom of his pajama top, sliding upward along his abs. Before those questing fingers got to his nipples, Luke stilled, gaze flashing up to meet his.

“Is this okay?”

“Uh-huh.” As if to prove it, he tugged the pajama top up and off, letting the material fall to the floor.

“Oh…” Luke checked out his torso, then his hands moved, one going down to slide over his belly again, the other continuing up to gently flick at his nipples.

Chris groaned and his cock hardened, and there was no way of disguising that, his pajama bottoms tenting out. Of course there was a bulge in Luke’s pajama bottoms as well, so it was okay.

He grabbed Luke’s pajama top and tugged it off, their mouths parting as Luke pulled it up the last bit to get it over his head, and it joined his own on the floor. Luke pressed against him, skin soft, smooth, and warm.

Wrapping his arms around Luke, he grabbed the sweet ass and squeezed. Luke filled his mouth with another moan, rubbing against him.

Chris wanted to take his time and explore, but it had been a while since he’d done this, and he felt like he was going to pop off at any moment. All it would take was the right touch, and he didn’t want that to happen while they were wearing their new—matching—pajamas. He wasn’t sure if he should take his own or Luke’s off first, but Luke took the decision out of his hands, grabbing hold of the waistband of his bottoms and tugging them down over his ass, and over his erection. It popped out, slapping eagerly up against his belly.

He got Luke’s pajama pants down too as he was stepping out of his own. Then they tumbled together onto the bed.

Luke wrapped around him like a monkey, slender limbs proving to be strong as Luke held on and rubbed against him.

Their kisses got deeper, more eager, tongues fighting and working together at the same time.

Grabbing hold of Luke’s ass, Chris tugged him into just the right spot, their cocks moving together this way, bumping and rubbing as Luke wriggled against him.

“Chris,” Luke whispered. “Gonna. Real soon.”

That was okay, because he was going to as well. He got his other hand between them and grabbed hold of both their cocks. He loved the sound of Luke’s moan as he started jacking them together. They felt like hot silk-covered steel as he worked them, Luke still undulating, adding to his motions.

Then Luke’s eyes opened wide, and he gasped, body freezing. Heat fountained up over Chris’s fingers, and that, along with the smell of Luke’s come, pulled him over the edge and he came too.

Luke relaxed against him, arms and legs still around him. It was going to be uncomfortable in a minute, he was sure, but right this moment, it was perfect.

It was Luke who groaned first and rolled, arms and legs dropping away from him. Chris opened and closed the hand of the arm that had been beneath Luke’s side, trying to work off the little tingles.

“My arm went to sleep.”

“Oh that’s too bad. It missed all the fun!” Luke’s eyes twinkled up at him.

Chris shook his head, but that mischievous look was irresistible, and he leaned in to kiss Luke again.

“Is it okay?” Luke asked.

He grunted. “It’s fine. Just tingly.” And that was already fading.

“Good.” Luke climbed over him and grabbed a couple of tissues from a box on the bedside table and offered one over to him, then cleaned his belly.

“What side of the bed do you want?” Luke asked him.

“We’re sharing, are we?”

Luke’s gaze shot to his. “Only if you want to.”

“Relax. That’s fine. And I’m good either side.” He hadn’t shared a bed in even longer than he’d last had sex.

“Then I’ll take this side.” Luke settled on his right and tried to tug up the covers, but though they’d messed them up, they were still lying mostly on them, so it was an impossible task.

Giggling, Luke stood, and Chris followed suit, letting Luke pull the covers all to one side before they climbed back in again. This time, Luke managed to pull the covers over them both.

“So romantic,” he noted, feeling a little silly.

“I think so.” Luke snuggled close. “You could have gone back to the couch, been all wham-bam, thank-you-Luke, but you didn’t. You’re staying here with me despite the awkward covers dance.”

“And that’s romantic.”

“Uh-huh.” Luke’s weight felt good against him, his body warm.

He wasn’t sure about the romantic thing, but then he didn’t think he really needed romance. He liked Luke and Luke liked him, and they liked doing things together. Watching movies, cooking, coming.

Whether or not it was romantic, it made for the best Christmas Eve he’d had in a very long time and that was more than good enough for him.
