Chapter 24
chapter 24
. . .
Carmen
M y heart raced as Henry took my hand, leading me toward the bed.
His beady eyes flicked to the other alphas in the room, smirking as if he had just won a prize. I swallowed hard, knowing that my life would be completely destroyed in minutes.
“Get on the bed,” he ordered.
“And if I don’t?” I asked, keeping my voice steady.
“Depends if you like being manhandled,” he replied, his gaze darkening as he leaned in closer. I immediately noticed the bulge in his pants growing more prominent.
My stomach churned with fear; he was unpredictable.
When I realized I had no other options, I cautiously climbed onto the bed, mindful of my pregnant belly. The scents of the alphas around me were intoxicating, causing my body to react, even against my will.
“She smells so fucking good,” growled one of the alphas.
“Get on your knees,” Henry demanded, and I complied, feeling the white dress fan out over the white blankets beneath me .
The sound of his belt hitting the floor and the clink of the metal buckle made my heart pound in my chest. My breasts felt heavy from pregnancy, swinging slightly as I moved into position.
“I’m pregnant, and I love my pack,” I pleaded with him. “You’re going to ruin my life forever.”
Henry just chuckled darkly, clearly enjoying the sense of power he held over me.
I shut my eyes tight, my heart racing.
Fear consumed me as I tried to focus on the small steak knife tucked into my bra from dinner earlier. How on earth was I going to stab Henry with it?
Henry climbed onto the bed and positioned himself behind me, his hands beginning to lift my dress slowly, exposing my skin inch by inch. My breathing grew heavy and erratic. Each inhale was a desperate attempt to calm myself.
I needed to find the right moment.
My cheeks burned with embarrassment as my ass became exposed under the predatory gazes of the alphas around us. Their ragged breaths deepened, and I could sense their desire. I glanced back to see Henry’s cock swinging behind me, his arousal clear.
With all the alphas distracted by my exposed ass, I decided this was my chance.
I slowly dipped my hand into my cleavage, pretending to undress further.
Instead, I clutched the knife handle, preparing myself for what I needed to do for myself and the baby. In one swift motion, I spun around, aimed to stab directly at Henry’s heart.
But he was faster than I anticipated.
His grip on my wrist was quick, like a vice. Panic surged through me as I futilely tried to pull free .
“Feisty little thing, aren’t you?” he taunted, his eyes wild with excitement. “I knew you’d try this.”
“How?” I gasped, trying to buy some time.
“You think I didn’t see you stash away your little knife? Ah, omega, when you put up a fight like this—it only makes me want you more.”
The other alphas chuckled darkly, their erections on display as they watched me struggle to pull away from Henry's grip. He finally released me, but now he held the knife in his hand.
He pressed the knife to my throat with a grim smile. With the cold steel against my skin, I could hardly breathe from fear.
Henry's grip was unyielding as he slid the blade down my neck and traced it along my cleavage.
"Did you really think I'd be that dumb, sweetheart?" he sneered. "You must have quite an imagination to believe you could kill the leader of all alphas."
“Please,” I begged, the quiver in my voice betraying my fear. "You don’t need me. Find another omega.”
He chuckled darkly.
“The moment I stepped into your little apartment and smelled your scent, I knew I had to have you. No other omega will satisfy me. Believe me, I tried.”
“I’m not going to satisfy you,” I cried out. “I’m not the one for you.”
“Tell me, Carmen,” Henry whispered, his breath hot against my ear, “do you want to live?”
I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest.
“Then relax and enjoy every minute of me,” he purred, setting the knife aside. “Any other omega would die to be here rutted by me.”
Suddenly, the door burst open, and a loud alpha bark reverberated through the room.
My heart soared when I saw Tyler, his muscular wolf form dominating the space, rushing straight for Henry. I recognized him immediately by his scent, which was stronger in wolf form, and the dark color of his fur.
“What the fuck?” shouted Henry as Tyler dragged him off the bed by his teeth.
Before Henry’s men could come to his aid, Logan, Axel, and Griffin lunged at the other alphas.
I watched in shock as Henry kicked and screamed, struggling in vain to free himself from Tyler's grasp. Overwhelmed by the chaos, I clutched my pregnant belly protectively, my heart racing.
As Henry shifted into his wolf form, he and Tyler snarled and snapped at each other, their anger palpable in the air.
The room erupted into a cacophony of snarls, growls, and the shattering of glass as the two wolf packs clashed in a brutal free-for-all.
I watched with a mix of awe and terror as massive wolves lunged, bit, and tore at each other, their powerful bodies crashing through the ornate furniture that had once adorned Henry's luxurious mansion. The scent of blood hung heavy in the air, mingling with the primal musk of anger and rage.
“Shit, Carmen, we need to get you out of here!” Jaxon’s voice cut through the chaos as he shifted back into his alpha form and rushed to my side. His hazel eyes were filled with concern, his protective instincts taking over.
“We can’t leave them,” I protested, my heart aching for Logan, who risked everything to save me. But Jaxon was already lifting me into his arms, my frame feeling even more delicate against his muscular chest. “Jaxon, please…”
“We’ll regroup, but right now, your safety is our priority,” he said, firmly carrying me in his arms away from the chaos unfolding in the room.
I looked back one last time, searching for Logan and the rest .
My breath caught when I saw them squaring off against Henry, their feral snarls echoing through the space. Blood dripped from Tyler’s shoulder, staining the white carpet.
Tyler glanced back at me, only to be bitten on the neck by Henry when he was distracted.
“No!” I screamed. Even though I didn’t like Tyler, I didn’t want him to die because of me.
“We need to leave,” Jaxon grunted, rushing toward the door.
“Please let them be okay,” I whispered, my grip on Jaxon tightening as we sprinted down the hallway, away from the violence.
“Tyler and Logan are strong. Don’t cry, hun,” Jaxon reassured me, his voice filled with determination to save me. My chest tightened with fear as tears streamed down my face.
“But what if they don’t make it?” I said, my heart pounding. My worst fear of losing my entire pack washed over me. I would raise this baby alone with Jaxon. But if Henry survived, he would go after Jaxon next.
And I would be left vulnerable.
“They’ll make it, I promise,” Jaxon said, his voice unwavering.
As we fled Henry's mansion, the sounds of snarls and shattered glass faded behind us. All I could cling to were Jaxon’s words, but I couldn’t shake the sinking feeling inside me.
