A NOTE FROM ELVA BIRCH

I always love returning to Green Valley, and I have wanted to write Deirdre and Juan's backstory since I first introduced them in Bearly Together. I knew this would be difficult story to tell, and it was a real challenge to balance Dean's heartache with Deirdre's happiness. I hope this hits the right notes, and that it pairs well with the short stories and delicious recipes.

I am planning to write stories for Clara, Trevor, Aaron, and Abby all grown up, but those tales are still stewing in my brain…
