Epilogue
“We should probably figure out where we’re going to live,” I said a few days after the battle and almost dying. We were spread out in lounge chairs on the deck. I was going to miss this place.
“What do you mean?” Jett asked. “We have a place to live already.”
“Yeah, but we can’t keep renting this place. That doesn’t make sense,” I replied.
“I’m confused,” Jett said, “Ouch! Why did you hit me?!”
I sat up to look at my mates. Jett rubbed the back of his head while glaring at Kase, who wouldn’t meet my eyes. I looked at Rylan, and he smirked at me.
“What’s going on?”
“Umm,” Kase said, “Well, what would you say if I said we don’t have to move?”
“I would say awesome, but do you think the owners would sell to us?”
Rylan snickered as Kase turned a shade of pink. Jett also started laughing, so I guess he caught on to whatever was going on. I was still completely lost.
“I, umm, well, I kind of already bought it,” Kase admitted. “We’ve never been renting.”
“So when you said you’d find us a temporary place until the case was finished, you instead went out and bought a beach house,” I clarified.
“Correct.”
“It’s a good thing I love the house and you,” I laughed. The doorbell rang, and I stood to see who was at the door. I turned back to them before I walked inside. “What would you have done if things hadn’t gone well between us and I decided to move out once this was over?”
“I told you, Evangeline Faithe,” Rylan said, “I’m never letting you go. I would have tied your pretty ass to the bed until you were so addicted to our cocks that you couldn’t live without them.”
“That sounds fun,” I replied with a wink. “I’m always down for a little role-playing.”
“I’ll get the rope!” Jett said, disappearing in a cloud of black smoke.
“Whoever is at the door, get rid of them,” Rylan ordered.
“I’ll get water. I think we’ll need hydration breaks,” Kase said, slipping past me.
Rylan followed me inside and smacked my ass as he turned to go upstairs. I skipped to the door and answered it with an excited smile, which fell as soon as I saw who it was.
“Mia?” The girl looked terrible. Her clothes had holes all over them, and her hair was a tangled mess.
“I fucked up, Evangeline.”
