Chapter 26
A couple of days past after the showdown with Xane, and life was returning to normal. Well, as normal as life for a member of the Mafia ever could be.
The Sorrento men never had it easy. They weren't civilians, and in truth never could be. Life as a gangster was the only way they knew to be - and in truth none of them would have had it any other way. Luca was comfortable with who he was, and he knew that with his brothers beside him he would be ready to face anything that the criminal underworld threw at him.
But despite business resuming with his planning of the bank heist, Luca was beginning to feel settled in his love life again. Having Tommy in his penthouse without the threat of Xane around to bother them any longer was a brilliant feeling.
Luca had ensured to check in with Tommy often to make sure he wasn't in shock or feeling any trauma from what had happened. Tommy, to his credit, had taken it all remarkably in his stride. Tommy would never be a Mafia man himself, but he understood that sometimes bad things had to happen to make a situation good again.
Just like Luca, Tommy had lost a parent at a young age. It was a tragedy for both of them, and yet both of them had come out of it on the other side. Now that they were together, they were able to share their experiences and grow together. Luca could see too that while him and Tommy had shared bonds from their pasts, it was very much the future that they needed to look forward too – a future together.
With the sound of the busy city at night outside, Luca leaned back in his office chair and looked at the computer screen. Everything was coming together. Soon, Luca was confident that he would be pulling off one of the biggest bank heists in history.
Luca finished up the work and decided that it was time to shut the computer off for the evening and spend some quality time with his boy.
This can wait.
I've planned enough.
This bank literally won't know what's hit it…
Luca got up from his desk and walked into the living area. The sight of Tommy lying on the floor in nothing but his blue and white striped silk pajamas was a sight to behold. Tommy's lean, athletic body looked all svelte and athletic as he lay in front of the roaring fire.
Tommy was playing videogames on his Switch. Luca hated to admit it, but he was starting to enjoy videogames almost as much as Tommy…
‘Room for a big, mean old mobster to join?' Luca said, a smile on his face as he walked over toward Tommy.
Tommy giggled and rolled his eyes for comic effect.
Being with Tommy brought a happiness to Luca's heart that for so long had thought might evade him forever. Every moment with Tommy was a joy, and now that they had removed Xane Troppo from the equation there were nothing but blue skies and happiness in their future together.
But Luca wanted to make sure of something…
‘Boy, I know you said you wanted me to be your Forever Love,' Luca said, his voice open-hearted. ‘But that was in the heat of the moment. It's okay if now the dust has settled you feel differently or just want some more time to see how things go.'
‘Is that how you feel?' Tommy said, an uncertain look in his eyes.
‘Me? Hell no,' Luca replied. ‘I've wanted to be your Forever for a long time. But you're the one who matters. And I won't mind if now you've been able to process the Xane thing, you want to take it slow.'
‘No! I want to take it fast,' Tommy said, a wicked look in his eyes. ‘I want us to go all the way and do it at lightspeed.'
Luca nodded and smiled.
Hearing Tommy speak those words with such enthusiasm and from the bottom of his heart felt like nothing else Luca had ever experienced. It was better than any bank heist Luca had pulled off, and worth a lot more too.
Tommy's love was priceless.
The cherry on top of the cake was the fact that Tommy had helped Luca explore his kinks too. Tommy was someone that Luca could trust, and the kind of boy who instinctively knew what true loyalty was. Tommy was the perfect package as far as Luca was concerned, and there wasn't another young man in the whole of New York City who could compare.
It may have been a cold night outside, but Luca and Tommy felt as warm and cozy together as was humanly possible – and that was without even taking the roaring fire into account.
‘I think this calls for one thing, and one thing only,' Luca said, a grin on his face.
‘What?' Tommy said, a look of intrigue on his sweet face.
‘Some of your Master's specialty hot chocolate,' Luca bellowed. ‘After all, a Dom and his boy need to stay fueled for whatever fun they'll have as the night goes on.'
Tommy smiled a beautiful smile and nodded before getting back to his videogame. For Luca, the ultimate dream had come true.
A Mafia Dom and his perfect boy together, laughing, playing and having the kind of down and dirty fun that was only possible with the ultimate trust. Luca may have been Tommy's deadly avenger, but nothing could ever kill their love.
