Chapter 8
Corey
I told Luke not to crush on me and that we are not going to be friends.
So why am I upset that he listened to me?
All week, he has been cordial and polite and I have had to watch him be his normal bubbly self with my frat brothers.
I fucking hate it.
He should be smiling at me.
No, he shouldn’t. I don’t want a boyfriend, and it’s blindingly obvious that’s what Luke will want. He’s going to fall in love with the first person he has sex with, and I don’t have it in me to be the one who breaks his heart for the first time.
“…yeah, I think the whole cheer squad is going to be there. I think a few of them are dating guys on the football team.”
If I was a dog, my ears would be up and I would be doing that weird little head tilt thing they do when they hear words like chicken and walkies. I look up and see Seth pacing, on the phone outside my office.
“Hey, what was that about the cheer squad?” I ask Seth when he ends the call.
“The football house is having a party, and the whole cheer squad is going. I guess they won something,” he shrugs.
I forced myself not to go to another game, but now I kind of wished I did. Luke was probably smiling the whole fucking time. Not that I care.
“I was gonna check it out if you want to come with? Luke has some cute friends.”
I frown at him. “You don’t think Luke is cute?”
“He’s fucking adorable,” Seth snorts. “But I do not have a death wish. If you didn’t kill me first, then Perry would.”
“What is that supposed to mean?”
“Nothing, prez. Absolutely nothing,” he smirks. There should be a rule where I’m the only one to smirk around here. “Are you going to come to the party with me or what?”
Parties suck. Mainly because they contain people and, as a whole, they are the worst.
“Fine, I’ll go.”
Torturing myself by watching Luke respect the boundaries that I set seems like a great way to spend the weekend.
The door to the football house is open, so we walk straight in. It’s decorated in whites and magnolias. For the number of rowdy parties these guys have, that makes sense. Cheap and easy to repaint when, inevitably, there is damage.
“Hey, look, there’s Luke,” Seth waves at Luke like he’s seeing Taylor Swift in concert or something. “Let’s go say hi.”
“Have you been smoking something?” I hiss at him. “When have I ever been a ‘lets go say hi’ type of person?”
“Looks like you’re not getting a choice because he’s coming over.” I look up in time to see Luke smile at Seth. That’s fine, I don’t care.
“Hey,” he nods at me. Great. The actual best. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you guys at a football party.”
“It happens,” I cross my arms. “Did you have a good game?”
Before he gets the chance to answer me, a guy I vaguely recognize from the football team comes up and puts his arm around Luke’s shoulders.
“Lukey, I got you a drink,” the blond dude says before looking at us. “Hey, I’m Charlie, Luke’s date.”
“Date?” My chest tightens. Weird.
“Yes. Date.”
I turn to Charlie. “You think taking someone to a football party is a good first date?”
I don’t mean to sneer at him. It just comes naturally.
“Duh, I’ve got my teammates, a hot guy on my arm, and I live here so it’s easy access to some private time. It’s a sweet deal.” He turns to Luke. “Let’s go dance.”
He tugs on his arm, and Luke follows in his trail”.
“I don’t like him.”
Seth snorts. “That’s not news. You don’t like people in general.”
Fair point.
“I like him even less. Did you hear him talk about Luke like he’s a fucking accessory?”
I watch Luke and Charlie as they start dancing. Why is he laughing his head off at something a dumb jock says? He can’t really be that funny.
Charlie turns Luke around so they are chest to back. He wraps his big arms around Luke’s slender waist, and he starts grinding his groin into Luke’s ass.
I watch Luke’s reaction. To the casual observer, he looks like he’s into it.
He isn’t.
His mouth is slightly tight like he’s angry or uncomfortable.
Should I go and say something? Or will Luke just brush me off?
“Are you going to stand there and look like you want to murder someone all evening?” Seth says, reminding me he’s still here. “Like seriously, dude, why don’t you just go and talk to Luke?”
At that moment, Luke looks up and our gazes lock. He gives me the barest hint of a smile and it’s like lightning straight to my heart.
“I think you’re right, Seth,” I smirk. Eyes not leaving Luke. “I think Luke and I need to have a little conversation.”
Luke tracks my movements as I close in on him and Charlie. I don’t pause when I reach them, tugging Luke into my arms with no resistance from either of them. Luke, I can understand. I’m clearly the better choice. Charlie though, is confusing. How can you have Luke in your arms and willingly give him up?
“I need a word with my little cheerleader.” A soft gasp falls from Luke’s lips.
Charlie gives me a thumbs-up and walks away.
Idiot.
“Let’s go find somewhere quiet,” I whisper in his ear. Wrapping my arm around his waist, I lead him outside and around the side of the house.
A million thoughts flutter through my brain as he pulls away from me and crosses his arms.
There are two that are the loudest.
Do not think about how good he feels in your arms.
Pull his pants down and fuck him against this wall.
I don’t even bother hiding the fact that my dick is rock fucking hard right now. I don’t know when it happened, but I’ve passed the point of no return.
I want Luke.
I want to make him scream, make him cum. I want to fuck him so hard he won’t know where he begins, and I end.
He stands there with those big doe eyes, plump lips that will look amazing wrapped around my length, rusty curls I need to feel between my fingers as I pump into his hole, until I’m making him cum over and over again.
I can’t hold myself back.
So I pounce.
