14. Corey

Chapter 14

Corey

It’s been a week since Luke and I had that brief boyfriend conversation, and it’s been playing on my mind constantly.

He wants to be boyfriends.

Boyfriends, with a label and everything.

I’m the first person he’s slept with, so what if it’s not me he’s into but my dick. I mean, it’s a great dick. Not as great as Luke’s, but really fucking close.

Ever since I’ve met Luke, I’ve wanted to keep him close to me. Even when I thought he was a rude, entitled asshole.

“Hey man, can I sit here?” A voice pulls me from my thoughts.

Trying to think big thoughts when you’re at a college football game is ridiculous anyway.

I came to another FVU game. This one is a little different from the first because it’s an away game. Thankfully, they’re playing a team that was only a forty-five minute drive away.

I look up at the voice and realize I recognize the guy. Lexi’s boyfriend, Ryder…I think.

“Go for it,” I say without too much of a scowl. I want Luke’s friends to like me, but I also don’t want people talking to me. Such a fine balance.

“Thanks, man,” he sits down and gets comfortable. My hope that he is just going to sit next to me quietly are quickly dashed. “So, you’re dating Luke?”

How do I even answer that? We’ve never been on a date so we’re hardly dating. But I’m also not going to tell Luke’s friend’s boyfriend that we’re just having sex. Because honestly, it was more than that even if I am not completely what we are right now.

“We’re together.” That is nice and non committal.

“You are a lucky guy. Luke is a sweetheart. I’m sure everyone else has already given you the ‘you hurt him, and we’ll hurt you’ speech, so I’m not going to do that. Although, if you do hurt him, I will fuck with your car. I’m a mechanic, and I’ll make sure it looks like an accident.” he grins at me.

“I don’t really know what to do with that information.”

“Eh, it’s not going to happen. People may say I’m a clueless idiot, but I see a lot more than some of these guys do. I know you’re not going to hurt Luke on purpose. I can also see that you are nuts about him but don’t know how to handle that, so the chances right now of you accidentally hurting Luke by pushing him away are at a high.”

My mouth drops.

“You’ve been sitting next to me for five minutes and you can just tell all of this?”

He snorts. “Fuck no. Clueless idiot, remember? Lexi is making us watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer on repeat. He’s really into nineties stuff. Anyway, you were giving me Angel vibes, and he totally fucks up with Buffy by pushing her away.”

“You’re kind of ridiculous.”

I worry that I’ve offended him for a hot minute before he’s throwing his head back laughing.

“Yeah, you might not be wrong there.” he looks at me assessingly. “I know you have this scary rep, but I also know that the kid you got expelled was a cheating bastard, and the teacher you got fired was a stealing dick. I figure that your bad reputation is as fake as Taylor Swift’s. You and Luke seem to be two sides of the same coin. As someone whose boyfriend loved them for years before they realized, I thought I would give you a heads up so you don’t have to join my clueless club.”

“Thank you,” I know it comes out grudgingly, but I sincerely mean it. “I needed that little pep talk. You’re an insightful guy.”

“Ha, not usually. I also have an ulterior motive. Most of mine and Lexi’s friends are cheerleaders, and they only seem to have football boyfriends. I need more non jock people in my life.”

I huff a laugh. “Thanks, I think.”

We spend the rest of the game watching our guys and shooting the shit. Ryder is a fun guy to be around and he invited us to come to a Thursday movie night. He made it sound like a great privilege to be invited, but he could just be fucking around.

What he said stuck with me, though.

Don’t be a clueless idiot and push Luke away.

It’s scary, and this could all go to hell. But it will all go to shit if I do nothing.

The urge to take him home, tell him I want to be boyfriends, and then spend the night making each other come is so fucking strong.

Luke needs more than that. He needs wining, dining, and candles. Well, maybe not need, but I want to give him that. I need to show him he’s special.

That night while Luke is curled into my side, snoring gently after I sucked his soul out through his dick, I get on my phone and start booking everything I can think of.

We haven’t talked about anal sex yet, but from the little comments Luke’s made, I know that is something he wants to do. I make sure I’ve downloaded my latest STD panel, and I add a multipack of condoms to my order. We will go at Luke’s pace, but I want to be prepared just in case.

I want to give my little cheerleader a night to remember.
