CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

DASH

I slam the door to my parents' house as I enter and look around at all the idiots who are still partying. I shouldn't have come back to the party. I should have gone for a long ride. It helps clear my head, but I've been drinking. And I am the one throwing the party. It would be rude for me to leave my guests.

I walk into my parents' kitchen, and the first thing I see is the back of Jackie's head. Blake's hand is in her blond hair as he kisses her deeply. "Take it to a room," I say loud enough over the music. "There are plenty to choose from," I mumble to myself, looking around the packed house and placing my helmet on the countertop. Some people have already passed out on the floor. A redhead catches my eye as a blond guy lifts her up and places her ass on the kitchen island. He reaches up and grabs her face as he kisses her deeply. It reminds me of the first night I met Tabatha. How hot she was for me. How her body demanded me.

"Back so soon?" Blake asks as he reaches over and pours a shot while Jackie licks her lips and smiles at me.

"What's wrong with you?" she asks, still smiling, and I wanna punch a fucking wall. I despise that look. The look where someone is in love and all giggles. It's annoying as fuck.

"I'm guessing it didn't go that well with Tabatha?" Blake asks.

"Tabatha?" Jackie asks as the smile drops off her face.

"No," I say, sighing heavily. "It did not go how I had planned," I confess, and Blake slides a shot across the countertop toward me.

"What didn't?" she demands.

I look at her and tilt my head to the side. "I poured my heart out to your friend, and she stomped on it. Let me tell you, it feels fucking great!"

Her eyes widen and then she pushes away from Blake. "I gotta go," she yells as she grabs her purse and storms out of the house. Leaving Blake and me staring at each other in confusion.

"Where's Valerie?" I ask when we hear the front door slam shut.

"She left."

"Thank you, God." I throw the shot back and then slide the shot glass across the countertop letting him know that he can make me another one.

"Why? Things went south with Tabatha and you want seconds with Valerie?"

"I didn't fuck her," I growl as I run my hand through my helmet hair. I turned her down for nothing. I could have at least gotten something out of tonight. Too late. I'm not gonna call her begging for it. Then I would look like a foolish idiot in front of two women. Pass on that.

"That's not her story." He tilts his head to the side. "As far as she's concerned, you were amazing," he says in a girly voice throwing his hand over his heart.

I roll my eyes. "Well, it didn't happen."

"I know," he says immediately. "Just letting you know what you have to look forward to."

"Lucky me…" I get interrupted as a male's voice rings out from down the hallway. I look up at Blake with big eyes, and he sighs heavily.

"Yes," he announces, lifting a shot of his own. "My brother has arrived in town. Now you know why Valerie left." Blake's brother is a total dick. Most women hate him; well, the ones who don't seem to fall for his witty comments and shallow gestures. But he has his reasons for being the way that he is. But, then again, don't we all? Love can be an ugly bitch.

A muscular arm lands over my shoulders, causing my already drunk legs to buckle a bit. "It's great to see you, Dash," he says excitedly before he removes his arm and walks over to his brother, Blake. He smiles brightly as he reaches up and rubs his knuckles over his head. Blake cries out like a little baby, and I laugh at him.

"Some things never change," he says, turning to me. "You two idiots throwing parties and I have to show up to tell you how to do it." He reaches for the tequila bottle and throws it back, not even bothering with a shot glass. Jake always showed us up when it came to drinking. We'd wake up hungover the following morning, and he would still be wide-awake throwing them back. "I hear you have woman troubles, Dash." He arches an eyebrow. "That's what happens when you mess with girls." He chuckles to himself. "Although, Valerie doesn't look like a girl anymore." He places his hands on his chest as if to inform me that Valerie now has fake tits.

"Trust me…" I reach over and grab the tequila bottle from his hand. "She's still a little bitch, though." I tilt back the tequila, and he laughs as I take a big shot from it and grimace.

"Dash has fallen in…"

"WHOA!" I say excitedly pulling the bottle away from my mouth. They both stare at me wide-eyed. I don't care to talk about Tabatha tonight, and that's exactly what Blake was about to bring up. I slam the bottle down on the countertop and give him a fake smile. "How about an old-time drinking game?" I challenge, and without saying a word, Jake walks over to the other side of the kitchen where the redhead and blond guy are still making out. I'm pretty sure he has his hand up her skirt.

Jake ignores them as he reaches up and grabs some shot glasses from the counter. He hands them off to Blake before he grabs more liquor bottles out of the freezer. "Who's ready to get fucked?" he asks knowing that he's gonna drink me and Blake under the table. And that's exactly what I'm in the mood for. As Blake starts to pour the shots, I look over at the entrance to the kitchen as if I expect Tabatha to walk in. I instantly look away and shake my head. Forget her, Dash. It's never gonna happen again.
