Chapter Eight

West

We were having one of the best times in a long time. Skyler was perfect and complemented the way we liked and needed to play. It didn’t take much to make him come while he was lip-locked with Spencer, and I loved seeing Spencer so happy.

“Thank you,” Skyler murmured. “I wasn’t expecting that at all.” He wiped his forehead with his forearm as I looked over his shoulder at Spencer.

“Coming? You weren’t expecting that?” I asked. I laughed and shook my head in disbelief.

Skyler shook his head and looked at the ground to his left and right. He needed off the bench. I put my hands on the outside of his upper arms to steady him and keep him from getting up too hastily.

Spencer slowly stood and gestured with his hand for Skyler to swing his leg over the top. As Skyler brought his leg over the bench, Spencer told him, “No need to rush. The building isn’t on fire.”

I took my hands off him but kept them out and to the sides in case he got wobbly. I caught Spencer’s attention and tilted my head toward the couch, hoping he’d take Skyler to sit down.

“You guys grab a seat, and I’ll get the bottled water,” I said.

“Come on, Skyler,” Spencer said, gesturing toward the couch. Spencer loved this part as much as the actual play and sex. The nurturing side of his personality was so strong, and I thought he got more emotionally out of caring for others than what the bottoms gave him sexually. But as quickly as I thought we’d found our perfect partner, my hopes crashed.

“No, it’s okay. Thanks, though. I’m fine,” Skyler quickly said. “I don’t do aftercare.”

I stopped mid-stride toward the table with the water on it and turned to look at Skyler. The absolute worst part was seeing Spencer’s disappointment as he realized what we thought we’d had—what we’d been waiting for—wasn’t really there. It broke my heart to see that look on Spencer’s face.

“That’s the second time tonight you’ve told us something you didn’t do or don’t do. Yet, you turned out to be a wonderful kisser,” Spencer pointed out. “Maybe there’s a chance you’d enjoy simply sitting with us for a bit as the three of us relax and cool down?”

“No, I really need to get going. I had an awesome time and would love to do this again,” Skyler said before he took a step toward the table where he’d left his clothes.

I wasn’t one to twist the arm of anyone Spencer and I played with, and we weren’t the kind of play partners who manipulated any session to get the type of play, or hear the answers, we wanted. But I wasn’t going to let Skyler slip away.

“We had an amazing time as well and would love to continue to have the opportunity to play with you,” I confidently said. Skyler’s lips turned upward in a smile. “But if you want to be with us again, no running away or dodging the aftercare. It’s all part of the session, and it’s for your benefit as well as ours.”

Skyler stopped and turned to look at me. He wasn’t the only one staring at me either. Spencer was studying me, checking to see if he’d heard correctly.

Skyler stood still, unsure of what to do or if he could move. I didn’t want to scare him, but I didn’t want to risk losing him either, especially when he could be a perfect fit for us.

“You’re free to leave, Skyler. I didn’t mean you couldn’t go. It’s your decision to stay or leave. But just know that if you leave without spending a little time with us, then this will be the last time the three of us play. Do you understand?”

Skyler nodded and glanced over his shoulder at his pile of clothes. Please don’t leave and crush Spencer. Still clinging to the hope that he wouldn’t, I began to negotiate and show that I was willing to meet him in the middle … as soon as I figured out where the middle was with him.

“Is there some part of hanging out with us for a little bit longer that makes you uncomfortable?” I asked.

“No, you guys are a lot of fun. I’ve enjoyed our time.” Skyler gestured over his shoulder toward his clothes. “I’m just going to grab my underwear. I’m kind of a mess,” he said.

“Of course,” Spencer replied while I went to get the bottles of water.

Skyler walked toward the couch once Spencer sat, and then he took the seat in the middle. Perfect. I was glad to see he didn’t want to kill off any future sessions together.

I handed one of the bottles of water to Skyler and then one to Spencer. I twisted the cap off mine as I sat on the other side of Skyler. They were quiet for a few minutes as they drank, but hopefully Skyler wouldn’t find it too awkward or uncomfortable. I knew Spencer was perfectly fine with silence as we calmed down.

“How long have you been coming to Edge?” I asked him.

“Not too long. Maybe about six months or so.”

“Are you new to Denver?” Spencer asked.

As a common part of our aftercare process, we tried to keep the person we played with talking so we could make sure they were doing okay. We’d always tried to keep questions simple and not make it seem like we were prying. But I’d admit, I was very curious about Skyler. I wasn’t going to push him too much, since I’d already given him an ultimatum for playing with us again.

Was I proud of showing my morally gray side? Honestly, I didn’t really give a fuck. Spencer and I were used to our work toeing the line of morals and ethics. When it came right down to it, we were far more ethically and morally aware and abiding in Edge than we were at work.

“I’ve been in Denver for a while, but just found Edge last summer.”

Skyler slouched on the couch so the back of his head was touching Spencer’s arm that was stretched out behind him. He appeared comfortable with his body and didn’t seem to be in a hurry to leave or as if he regretted being here.

“How about you two? How long have you been coming to Edge, and have you been in Denver long?” he asked us. I was surprised when he asked, because Spencer and I were accustomed to being the ones asking the questions.

“We’ve been longtime members of Edge, but work keeps us occupied most weekends,” Spencer loosely explained.

“I was born here, and Spence is from California.”

“I’ve been here for about ten or eleven years,” Spencer added.

The three of us sat together, talking about generic things like what we liked and didn’t like about the Denver area. I glanced at Spencer and noticed he was gazing at Skyler’s head, totally oblivious to me watching him. A loud clap of thunder followed by the lights in the room flickering drew our attention to the weather. Spencer’s eyes met mine just before the main lights went out, leaving us in darkness for a few moments before the small emergency light by the door behind us came on.

“Damn, I guess that storm is here to stay for a while,” Skyler said as he sat up.

“We should get going before the roads get worse,” I said.

“I imagine a lot of people will be leaving the club,” Spencer added.

“Shit. Do you think they’ll still let people take showers in the locker rooms?” Skyler asked.

“Probably, but it’ll be dark in there or very dim with only a few emergency lights on,” I told him.

“Take a shower when you get home,” Spencer suggested.

“I need to try to work some tonight, I think,” Skyler muttered as he stood. “Are you good with me heading out now?” Skyler asked. “I don’t want to mess up and not be able to play with you again. I really had one of the best nights that I’ve had in a long time.”

“We’ll play again, Skyler,” I promised.

“Before you leave, I’d like to give you our phone numbers. You don’t have to give us yours, but that way you’ll have a way to contact us,” Spencer said as he got off the couch and went to the table that had our shirts and jackets on it.

“Yeah, that sounds good. I’ll give you my number too.”

Skyler quickly pulled on his pants and shoes while Spencer and I finished getting dressed. We were both done and ready with our coats on and cell phones out while Skyler was still pulling on layers. He had a short-sleeved shirt under a long-sleeved shirt and a sweatshirt. He slid his puffer coat on, then his knit beanie, and walked toward us with his phone in hand.

After we exchanged numbers, the three of us walked out of the room together and carefully navigated the hallway that was lit only by a sprinkling of emergency overhead lights. At the end of the hallway, Skyler stopped and gestured with his thumb over his shoulder in the direction of the locker rooms. Spencer and I stepped out of the way of the foot traffic and moved the three of us to the corner of the hallway.

“I’m going to stop in the locker room and freshen up a bit,” he said.

“You’re sure?” Spencer asked.

“Yes. Thank you for tonight. I really needed it, and you guys were great.”

“We had an awesome time, Skyler,” I reiterated.

“Okay. I’ll wait to hear from you again to see when you want to play next, or I’ll catch you when I catch you,” he said.

Spencer stepped closer to Skyler and said, “Don’t ever think you’re not good at kissing,” just before he leaned in and kissed him. “You were perfect at it,” Spencer assured as he pulled his mouth off Skyler’s.

“Thank you,” Skyler murmured as the thunder rolled dully overhead.

I put my hand on Spencer’s shoulder and jostled him a bit to pull him out of his Skyler haze. Knowing we shouldn’t delay Skyler further, I spoke up.

“We’ll let you get going so the traffic isn’t too terrible for you. You’ll hear from us this week,” I told Skyler. He nodded and waved at us before he disappeared into the men’s locker room.

Spencer turned to me, and without saying a word, I knew he was hooked on Skyler. He put his hand over his chest and grinned. I loved seeing that look on his face.

“Did you have a good time?” I teased.

Spencer rolled his eyes at my sarcastic jab. “Let’s get something at the bar really quick,” he said.

At the bar, I positioned myself so I could hopefully see when Skyler left. Spencer ordered a beer, and I ordered water.

“You don’t want a beer?” Spence asked.

“No. I’ll drive us home; you can have the beer.”

Spencer and I talked about our evening and how perfect we thought Skyler was.

“I don’t want to get my hopes up, because we don’t know if he’s interested in something long term.” Spencer carried on about the whole situation. He went back and forth from giving me pros and cons for pursuing Skyler for a more permanent role.

“Spence, we’ve talked so much about this in the past. We both want this for us.”

“But I don’t want either of us to get hurt.”

“We won’t.”

By the time Spencer had finished his beer, I realized that I’d been paying more attention to him than I had been watching for Skyler. I had no idea if he was still here or if he’d left.

“Ready?” I asked Spencer.

“I’m ready; let’s go.”

I glanced around, hoping to see Skyler one more time before we left, and I knew Spence would have loved to see him too. Since we hadn’t spotted him again by the time we reached the coat check, I figured we wouldn’t see him until the next time we arranged playtime with him.

“It was so hot watching you feed your cock to him,” I said under my breath as we waited for our coats.

A short laugh escaped Spence as he smiled and looked at me. “His mouth was wonderful. That tongue of his drove me crazy, and the way he looked up at me kind of melted me,” Spencer admitted. I already knew that, though.

“You made his lips puffy,” I teased as we were handed our coats.

“Oh well. Next time you’ll have to make his lips puffy.”

With our coats on and zipped up, we pulled the hoods up over our heads to protect us from the pouring rain. We jogged to Spencer’s SUV and quickly got in.

“What a shitty night,” I murmured as I pushed the engine’s start button and woke the Porsche up from its slumber.

“The weather blows, for sure, but if we hadn’t gone out tonight, we might not have had the chance to play with Skyler.”

“You’re absolutely right. It was worth the trek out in the weather.”

I reversed out of the parking spot, and when I crept forward through the parking lot, a blue puffer coat caught my eye. I stopped the SUV and blinked a few times so my eyes could adjust to the bright lights of cars on the main road as rain pounded the windshield. Standing alone at the bus stop, surrounded by plexiglass, was someone wearing a blue puffer coat.

“Is that Skyler?” I asked.

“Where?” he quickly asked and looked around the parking lot. “Where?” he asked again. The desperation to see Skyler again was in his voice.

“Right there at the bus stop.” I pointed in the direction of where the headlights were shining.

“Fuck. Go out on the main road and drive by slowly.” As I navigated through the parking lot and onto the road, flickering lightning lit up the sky.

“He shouldn’t be under the awning,” I mumbled.

“He shouldn’t be there, period.”

I kept the SUV in the emergency lane as we moved closer to the metal-covered bus stop.

“Yeah, that’s him,” Spencer said.

“Offer him a ride.” I voiced it even though Spencer was already rolling the window down.

“Skyler!” Spencer called out, and Skyler looked up from his phone.

“Hey!” Skyler pulled his hood over his beanie and walked toward the SUV while pocketing his phone. I glanced in the rearview mirror and the side mirror for oncoming traffic as Spencer spoke.

“Can we give you a lift?” Spencer asked.

We never offered to give anyone we played with in Edge rides. It wasn’t wise to do so because they didn’t know us, and we didn’t know them. Trusting someone to play in Edge was one thing, but anything outside of the club was another story. However, something with Skyler really clicked with us, and without needing to discuss it, Spencer and I felt it would be okay.

“I’m going kind of far. I’d hate for you guys to have to drive out of your way to take me home.”

“You don’t have to work tonight?” Spencer asked. During our time together after our play, Skyler had mentioned he needed to work tonight. But maybe he only said that to try to get out of having to take part in the aftercare portion that we required.

Nothing on Skyler’s face indicated he’d been caught in a fib. Without missing a beat, he said, “I was going to try to work, but the weather is so bad.”

I glanced in the rearview mirror once again before leaning close to the steering wheel to look at his face. “We won’t pressure you to come with us, but we wanted to offer you a ride,” I said.

“My place is about twenty minutes from here. If you guys don’t mind?—”

“We wouldn’t have offered if we minded,” Spencer told him. He gestured to the back seat as I unlocked the doors.

Skyler smiled and nodded before going to the rear door. I turned the blinker on, preparing to merge onto the main road again while Skyler got in and buckled his seat belt.

“Thanks for the ride.”

“No, problem. It’s terrible out,” Spencer said.

“Where are we heading?” I asked Skyler as I pressed the screen on the dash for the GPS.

As Skyler gave us the address, I entered it into the system, and the map outlined our route. Very quickly, I realized Skyler didn’t live in a good area of Denver. I was sure Spencer could see the area on the screen that we were headed to, and that he was thinking the same thing. I pulled onto the street and followed the on-screen prompts to Skyler’s. I wanted to move on from the silence in the car.

“What line of work are you in?” I asked. I thought that was general enough of a question without coming across as being nosey or risking making him uncomfortable.

“Customer relations. What about you guys?”

Customer relations. Maybe he worked retail or something in the service industry, and customer relations was a fancy way of describing it. I can’t find any fault in that. After all, Spencer and I candy-coated our jobs all the time.

“We work for Black Diamond Resorts in security,” Spencer said.

“Those are the posh celebrity hangouts in the ski resorts, right?”

“Yes,” I replied.

“Nice. My family used to go on vacations all the time to Vail when I was younger,” he offered.

“Did you ski a lot?” Spencer asked.

Skyler laughed a little and then said, “My dad was always too busy doing other stuff when we were there. But my mom took me skiing some. She was more interested in the village and shops, though. So as I got older, I went skiing on my own while they did whatever.”

For the rest of the way to Skyler’s place, we talked about Vail and some of the restaurants there. Skyler said he hadn’t been there for a number of years and didn’t know any of the new places. I turned onto his street where cars lined the curb, and there appeared to be no place for me to park.

“Oh, this is good. I can get out here.”

“Which one is your place?” I asked as I kept glancing from the street to the houses. It looked like most of the homes were attached and had little difference between the others on the street. I couldn’t find anything on the buildings that showed the numerical portion of the address. The street was dimly lit, and none of the dwellings had porch lights from what I could see.

“I’m renting a place a few doors down,” Skyler said.

“Which one? We can drop you off right in front of it,” Spencer said.

“Really, this is good right here.” Skyler unbuckled his seat belt as I slowed the SUV to a stop.

I knew there was only so much we could do to push him to tell us which place was his. We’d already managed to strong arm him into sitting with us after our session and to let us take him home. Much more pushing and I was afraid he’d steer clear of us. And I didn’t want to risk losing him as a play partner, for mine and Spencer’s sake.

“Thanks for playing tonight, and for the ride home.”

“We had a great time,” Spencer said.

“Yeah, we’ll be in touch this week,” I said. I caught a glimpse of Skyler pulling his hood up over his beanie as I looked in the rearview mirror to make sure there weren’t any cars coming.

“I will anxiously await your text. Later, guys.” Skyler hopped out of the Porsche and quickly closed the door before dashing between two parked cars and onto the sidewalk.

A car honked its horn behind me, quickly drawing my attention to the road.

“Fuck, alright already. Damn,” I mumbled, and took my foot off the brake to ease forward.

“Impatient fuck,” Spencer murmured.

“Did you see which one he went into?” I asked. I glanced at the GPS on the dash to see that we were now past the ending destination checkered flag.

“I’m not sure. The rain is coming down in sheets. But we at least have his address.”

Our drive home took much longer than it should have due to the rain. Spencer had his cell phone out and had been quiet most of the way.

“What are you looking at?” I finally asked.

“I was doing some searches on the address to see who he’s renting from. It belongs to a property management company.”

Yeah, Spencer was borderline obsessed already.
