Epilogue

A year later….

The soft carpet at the end of our bed cushioned my knee while I knelt in front of my babygirl. As I smirked up at her, she gave me the brattiest eye roll. That action always earned her spankings and she knew it. I tapped my thigh and she lifted her left leg to place her foot where I motioned. Picking up her strappy stiletto, I cupped her heel in my hand and slipped it onto her foot.

The spike of the heel softly pressed into my skin beneath my dove-gray dress pants. Her nails painted a pretty silver to match her shimmering dress in the same shade. I"d searched for hours to find her just the right dress for her. I"d outfitted her completely, shoes, dress, and lingerie for me to enjoy fully later that night.

"Daddy, you know I can dress myself," her raspy voice whispered above me.

"What did I tell you on our first date, babygirl?"

"That if I gave you the chance you"d fall to your knees and worship me."

I hummed in approval. "And nothing in the past year has changed."

Every promise I"d made her, I"d kept. While I put on her other shoe, I leaned in to kiss her inner thigh. The hem of her short dress caressed my cheek. In twelve months, she"d come into her own. Confidence had grown. Her safety and security ingrained in her.

I lowered her foot to the carpet and gracefully stood to twine my arms around her waist. Groaned as her thicker body and curves pressed to my slender body. Without the stress of work and school, being able to afford her healthcare, she"d blossomed so much. My pride in her knew no bounds.

With my support she"d reconnected with her parents as Trinity, her authentic self. They"d been hurt she"d kept something from them, but had been excited for Trinity and all she"d accomplished on her own. I think they were more shocked by the person she"d chosen. Part of me thought they still didn"t know what to think of me. We"d invited them to visit and they"d agreed, but had turned down my offer of buying them plane tickets.

While Trinity talked to her parents every week on video calls, they"d finally told her a few months earlier the date they"d be there. Each of them had to put in for time off. It had come through, I"d booked them a nice hotel room. We"d be meeting them for dinner shortly. I felt nervous because I"d invited them to stay in our home. Trinity had assured me they liked their own space and them turning down using one of the guest rooms had nothing to do with me. She"d said her parents were proud people. I could understand that, but I"d wanted her to have as much time with them as she could get before they needed to return home.

"Have I told you how proud of you I am?" I asked.

She raised her pretty eyes to the ceiling as if she were thinking about it. "I don"t remember, have you said it today?" Trinity giggled as I gave her a gentle shake, and then she stroked her hands up my sleeve covered arms to twine around my neck.

"If I have been so remiss in my duties, I"m so proud of you, Trinity. How happy you are. How well you"re doing in school. You have no idea how honored I am that I earned your love."

"Loving you was pretty easy, Rogue."

I knew that wasn"t altogether true. There was no questioning our attraction to each other. We both had insecurities that we"d needed to work through. Mine had surprised me. My overabundance of self-confidence hid a pretty big issue with whether I was good enough for my babygirl. Would I take care of her the way she needed? We"d worked it out, but it hadn"t been completely smooth-sailing over the year since we"d met.

There were nights she went to Freida"s apartment to bitch about me, but I always showed up the next morning to pick her up. A kiss. A few ‘I"m sorries' and we went on with our days. I"d sensed it the night I saw her, she"d be my everything. No questions or doubts. I"d waited my entire life for the woman in my arms.

"Love you." I tipped my chin and she lowered her mouth to mine.

"Love you too."

I loved the shape of her smile against mine. The first time I put it there, I"d promised I"d never give her a reason to lose it. So far, I hadn"t failed. Even in our disagreements and anger, she knew she owned me. I"d never give her a reason to rethink the chance she took.

Lacing my fingers through hers, I led her to the door for dinner with her parents, but afterward, she was all mine. And I hoped that possession lasted a lifetime.
