Epilogue
Courtney woke up one morning to feel Ronin’s arms around her. Ever since she moved in a few weeks before, he’d made it a point to be beside her when she woke up every morning.
“Good morning, my sweet girl,” he murmured against the back of her head.
“Good morning, Daddy.”
She knew he loved it when she called him that.
“We have to go into the office today. Do you want to come with me or go to someone else’s house?”
“I want to be with you,” she said. She always would rather be with him than anyone else. Oh, she had a blast with the girls, but she never felt as safe as she did when she was with him.
“Good. I like having you with me, too. I’m not sure when I’ll be able to relax when you’re at a friend’s house or just out of my sight,” Ronin said.
“I’m the same way. Maybe someday you’ll mellow out,” she said and giggled.
He snorted and turned her on her back. “Mellow out? Really?”
She screeched when he started to tickle her. “Stop, Daddy. I hate being tickled.”
“I know.”
He finally stopped and bent down to kiss her. “I changed my mind. We’ll go into the office later. Right now, I need to be in my little.”
She wrapped her arms around his neck and grinned. “I like that plan.”
“Good.” He lowered his head.
It was the last thought in her mind until much later. She couldn’t have asked for a better daddy.
