Chapter 12
Chapter Twelve
Tinsley
I flipped the protein bar over in my hands. Uncle Tyler sat beside me doing the same thing.
"This doesn't look anything like a cinnamon roll," he said.
"I said it tasted like a cinnamon roll."
"Pancakes?" I asked.
"Yeah, we wanted pancakes," Uncle Tyler agreed.
"We cannot walk to the waterfall with a belly full of pancakes," Daddy argued, filling up his water bottle.
"We could try," Uncle Tyler grumbled.
"Could try," I agreed. I didn't wanna eat a yucky protein bar for breakfast.
"You two are very mouthy this morning." Daddy laughed, picking up his backpack and sliding it on.
"Yeah, but if you'd fed us a proper breakfast, our mouths would be full of fluffy pancake clouds and not sass."
I nodded in agreement.
"I think both your attitudes have more to do with staying up most of the night and not with what I didn't feed you for breakfast." We'd spent most of yesterday afternoon and last night in the bed, though Daddy hadn't been complaining then.
"Our bodies need nutrients after all those orgasms! It's not healthy to only have this bar," I whined.
"Little girl, We can still fill your mouth with something if it's full of sassy," Daddy warned, making my pussy clinch.
"No, Dada," I answered, even though I loved that idea. I wasn't sure I was ready for something like that in public.
"No, so we're all done with the complaining?"
"Yas, Dada."
"Are you sure you're done? Because personally, I would love to stuff your mouth," Tyler added.
Biting my lip between my teeth kept me from laughing at Uncle Tyler's naughtiness.
"Tyler, I swear on Tinsley's chicken…"
"No, Dada!" I yelled dramatically. "Don't swear on Count Cluckula! Swear on… your truck or something!"
Daddy clutched his heart and looked at me apologetically. "I'm sorry, babygirl. That was a grave mistake." He turned to Tyler and corrected himself. "I swear on my truck if you don't shut the fuck up and hike this damn trail, I'm going to kick your ass."
"Kick ass." I nodded. Uncle Tyler needed to understand Daddy was so very serious.
Daddy snorted and Uncle Tyler shook his finger at my ugly words.
"I'm going, I'm going," he said, standing from the ground and stretching.
I stood and mimicked his actions. He booped me on the nose before sliding on his backpack and taking my hand. Daddy grabbed the other hand and we started up the trail. The pavement crunched under my sneakers. The trail was so pretty. Everything looked vibrant and I loved hearing the water in the distance.
"Pretty flowers," I said, dropping both their hands, and pointing to the flowers.
"Oh, so pretty," Uncle Tyler agreed.
I walked over and bent to pick one when Daddy spoke. "We need to be really careful while we're walking, okay? We don't want to scare any animal friends." I froze mid-pick. "Why?"
"Well, if we scare them, they might bite."
"What bite?"
"Well, snakes…"
I didn't even let Daddy finish speaking before I was climbing up him. "Tinsley all done."
"Baby, I didn't mean a…"
"Tinsley all done," I said, a little louder this time. I patted myself. "All. Done."
Daddy held me close and rocked me back and forth. "Take a breath, baby." My heart was pounding in my chest.
I did. He kissed my cheek. "Daddy didn't mean to scare you."
"Scared," I agree, nodding my head.
"You don't need to be scared, baby. I'm sorry. Daddy just meant we needed to watch where we stepped."
"No walking. Tinsley will stay right here. Dada walks."
"Okay, little one. You just hang on tight, okay?"
"Okay," I agreed.
Uncle Tyler took Daddy's backpack and Daddy helped me slide around to his back. I wrapped my legs around his waist and kept my arms around his neck. I had already been bitten by an alligator. We were not adding a snake bite to my boo-boo leg.
